< Diuteronomi 4 >

1 Ugbu a, O Izrel, gee ntị nʼụkpụrụ na iwu niile m na-aga ikuziri unu ka unu na-eme ma ọ bụrụ na unu chọrọ ịdị ndụ banye, ma nwetakwa ala ahụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke nna nna unu ha na-enye unu.
Now, Israel, listen to the statutes and to the ordinances, which I teach you, to do them; that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, gives you.
2 Unu atụkwasịla iwu ọzọ nʼelu iwu ndị a, ma ọ bụkwanụ site na ha wepụ iwu ọbụla. Kama, meenụ ihe iwu ndị a na-ekwu, nʼihi na ha si nʼaka Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu.
You shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
3 Unu ji anya unu hụ ihe Onyenwe anyị mere na Baal-Peoa. Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu sitere nʼetiti unu bibie ndị niile gbasoro Baal nke Peoa.
Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baal Peor; for all the men who followed Baal Peor, the LORD your God has destroyed them from the midst of you.
4 Ma unu niile nọgidesịrị ike soro Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu bụ ndị dị ndụ taa.
But you who were faithful to the LORD your God are all alive this day.
5 Lee, ezila m unu ụkpụrụ na iwu niile Onyenwe anyị Chineke m sị m zi unu, iwu unu na-aghaghị idebe nʼala ahụ unu na-aga inweta.
Look, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that you should do so in the midst of the land where you go in to possess it.
6 Lezienụ anya hụ na unu debere ha, nʼihi na nke a ga-egosi mba gbara unu gburugburu na unu bụ ndị nwere nghọta na amamihe. Nʼihi na mgbe ha nụrụ banyere ụkpụrụ ndị a, ha ga-ekwu okwu sị, “Nʼezie, ndị jupụtara na mba ukwu a bụ ndị nwere nghọta na amamihe.”
Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who shall hear all these statutes, and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people."
7 Olee mba ọzọ dị ukwuu, nke e mere ka chi ha nọọ ha nso dịka Onyenwe anyị Chineke anyị si na-anọ anyị nso mgbe ọbụla anyị kpọkuru ya nʼekpere?
For what great nation is there, that has a god so near to them, as the LORD our God is whenever we call on him?
8 Olee mba ukwu ọzọ dịkwa nke nwere ụkpụrụ na iwu ziri ezi dịka iwu ndị a m na-enye unu taa?
What great nation is there, that has statutes and ordinances so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?
Only take heed to yourself, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes saw, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your children and your children's children;
10 Cheta ụbọchị ahụ unu bịara guzo nʼihu Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu nʼugwu Horeb, nʼụbọchị ahụ ọ gwara m okwu sị m, “Kpọkọtaa ụmụ Izrel ka ha bịa nʼihu m, nụrụ okwu m, ka ha nwee ike mụta ịtụ m egwu ụbọchị niile nke ha ga-ebi nʼala ahụ, ka ha nweekwa ike ikuziri ụmụ ha.”
the day that you stood before the LORD your God in Horeb, when the LORD said to me, "Assemble me the people, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children."
11 Ọ bụ nʼala ugwu ahụ ka unu bịara nso, guzo, mgbe ọkụ si nʼugwu ahụ na-ere, na-alali elu iru eluigwe, ya na igwe ojii nakwa oke ọchịchịrị.
You came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire to the heart of the sky, with darkness, cloud, and thick darkness.
12 Mgbe ahụ Onyenwe anyị sitere nʼọkụ ahụ gwa unu okwu. Unu nụrụ ụda olu ya, ma unu ahụghị oyiyi ọbụla anya, naanị ụda olu.
The LORD spoke to you out of the midst of the fire: you heard the voice of words, but you saw no form; you only heard a voice.
13 O nyere unu ọgbụgba ndụ ya, nke unu na-aghaghị idebe. Ha dị iwu iri. O dere ha na mbadamba nkume abụọ.
He declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even the ten commandments; and he wrote them on two tablets of stone.
14 E, ọ bụ nʼoge ahụ ka Onyenwe anyị nyere m iwu sị m nye unu ụkpụrụ na iwu unu ga-agbaso mgbe unu banyere nʼala ahụ dị nʼofe Jọdan, nke unu na-aga inweta.
The LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and ordinances, that you might do them in the land where you go over to possess it.
15 Unu maara na unu ahụghị ụdịdị Onyenwe anyị anya nʼụbọchị ahụ o sitere nʼọkụ gwa unu okwu nʼugwu Horeb. Ya mere kpachapụrụnụ onwe unu anya
Therefore watch yourselves carefully; for you saw no kind of form on the day that the LORD spoke to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire.
16 ka unu ghara imerụ onwe unu site nʼịkpụ oyiyi ọbụla dịka arụsị, ụdị oyiyi ihe ọbụla, maọbụ nʼụdị nwoke maọbụ nʼụdị nwanyị,
Lest you corrupt yourselves, and make yourself an engraved image in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
17 maọbụ nʼụdị anụmanụ, maọbụ nʼụdị nnụnụ na-efe efe,
the likeness of any animal that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the sky,
18 maọbụ nʼụdị anụ na-akpụ akpụ, ma ọ bụkwanụ nʼụdị azụ bi na mmiri.
the likeness of any crawling creature that crawls on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water below the land;
19 Mgbe unu lere anya na mbara eluigwe hụ anyanwụ, ọnwa, na kpakpando, dịka ha si basaa na mbara eluigwe, unu ekwela ka unu bụrụ ndị a na-arafu ịkpọ isiala nye ha na ife ha ofufe bụ ihe ndị a Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu kere nye mba niile bi nʼokpuru eluigwe.
and lest you lift up your eyes to the sky, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the host of heaven, you are drawn away and worship them, and serve them, which the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole sky.
20 Ma banyere unu, Onyenwe anyị kpọọrọ unu, kpọpụta unu site nʼime ọkụ na-agbaze igwe, site nʼIjipt pụta, ka unu bụrụ ihe nketa ya, dịka unu dị ugbu a.
But God has taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be to him a people of inheritance, as at this day.
21 Onyenwe anyị wesoro m iwe nʼihi unu, ọ ṅụrụ iyi na m agaghị agafe osimiri Jọdan ịbanye nʼala ọma ahụ nke Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị na-enye gị dịka ihe nketa gị.
Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and swore that I should not go over the Jordan, and that I should not go in to that good land, which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance:
22 Aghaghị m ịnwụ nʼala a. Agaghị m agafe Jọdan. Ma unu ga-agafe gaa nweta ala ọma ahụ.
but I must die in this land, I must not go over the Jordan; but you shall go over, and possess that good land.
23 Lezienụ anya ka unu ghara ichefu ọgbụgba ndụ unu na Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu nwekọrọ, unu emerela onwe unu arụsị yiri ụdịdị ihe ọbụla, ndị ahụ iwu Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu nyere megidere.
Be careful, lest you forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you an engraved image in the form of anything which the LORD your God has forbidden you.
24 Nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu bụ ọkụ na-erepịa erepịa. Ọ bụ Chineke ekworo.
For the LORD your God is a devouring fire, a jealous God.
25 Mgbe ị ga-amụ ụmụ, nwekwa ụmụ ụmụ, mgbe unu birila ọtụtụ oge nʼala ahụ, ọ bụrụ na unu emerụọ onwe unu site nʼimere onwe unu ụdị arụsị ọbụla, si otu a mee ihe dị njọ nʼanya Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu, ma kpasuo ya iwe
When you shall father children, and children's children, and you shall have been long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make an engraved image in the form of anything, and shall do that which is evil in the sight of the LORD your God, to provoke him to anger;
26 ana m akpọku eluigwe na ụwa ka ha bụrụ ndị akaebe mụ na unu taa, na a ga-ala unu nʼiyi ngwangwa nʼala ahụ bụ nke unu na-agafe Jọdan inweta. Unu agaghị ebi ogologo oge nʼebe ahụ, nʼihi na a ga-ekpochapụ unu.
I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto you go over the Jordan to possess it; you shall not prolong your days on it, but shall utterly be destroyed.
27 Onyenwe anyị ga-eme ka unu gbasasịa nʼetiti mba ndị ọzọ. Ọ bụkwa naanị mmadụ ole na ole ga-afọdụ ndụ nʼetiti mba ndị ahụ Onyenwe anyị ga-achụga unu.
The LORD will scatter you among the peoples, and you shall be left few in number among the nations, where the LORD will drive you.
28 Nʼebe ahụ, unu ga-efe chi ndị bụ ọrụ aka mmadụ nke e ji osisi tụọ na nke e ji nkume pịa, nke na-adịghị ahụ ụzọ, nke na-adịghị anụ ihe, nke na-apụghị iri nri ma ọ bụkwanụ ịnụ isisi.
There you shall serve other gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
29 Ma ọ bụrụ na unu anọrọ nʼebe ahụ chọọ Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu, unu ga-achọtakwa ya, mgbe unu ji obi unu niile na mkpụrụobi unu niile chọọ ya.
But from there you shall seek the LORD your God, and you shall find him, when you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.
30 Mgbe mkpagbu bịara, mgbe ihe ilu ndị a bịakwasịrị unu nʼoge dị nʼihu, unu ga-emesịa lọghachikwute Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu, unu ga-egekwa ntị nʼihe ọ ga-agwa unu.
When you are in oppression, and all these things have come on you, in the latter days you shall return to the LORD your God, and listen to his voice:
31 Nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu bụ Chineke na-eme ebere. Ọ gaghị agọnarị unu maọbụ laa unu nʼiyi, maọbụ chefuo ọgbụgba ndụ ya na nna nna unu ha gbara, nke o ji iyi ọ ṅụrụ mesie ike.
for the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not fail you, neither destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore to them.
32 Nyochaanụ ihe mere nʼoge gara aga, tupu a mụọ unu, na tupu Chineke ekee mmadụ nʼụwa. Jụọnụ ajụjụ nʼụwa niile, jụta ma ihe ukwu dị otu a o metụla mgbe ọbụla.
For ask now of the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created humankind on the earth, and from the one end of the sky to the other, whether there has been anything as this great thing is, or has been heard like it?
33 O nweela ndị mmadụ nụrụ olu Chineke mgbe o si nʼọkụ gwa ha okwu dịka unu mere, ma ha anwụghị?
Did a people ever hear the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as you have heard, and live?
34 O nweela chi ọzọ nwara ka o site na mba ọzọ nwetara onwe ya otu mba, site nʼihe nwalee, site nʼihe ịrịbama na ihe ebube dị iche iche, site nʼagha, nʼaka dị ike, na ogwe aka esetipụrụ esetipụ, maọbụ nʼihe dị oke egwu dị iche iche, dịka ihe niile nke Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu mere nʼala Ijipt nʼihu anya unu abụọ?
Or has God tried to go and take a nation for himself from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
35 O gosiri unu ihe ndị a ka unu mara na Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke nʼezie, na ọ dịkwaghị onye ọzọ ma ọ bụghị ya.
It was shown to you so that you might know that the LORD is God. There is no one else besides him.
36 O sitere nʼeluigwe mee ka unu nụ olu ya maka ịdọ unu aka na ntị. Nʼụwa, o mere ka unu hụ oke ogidi ọkụ ahụ o wuru, unu nụkwara olu ya nʼetiti ọkụ ahụ.
Out of heaven he made you to hear his voice, that he might instruct you: and on earth he made you to see his great fire; and you heard his words out of the midst of the fire.
37 Nʼihi ịhụnanya o nwere nʼebe nna nna unu nọ na nʼihi nhọpụta ọ họpụtara ụmụ ụmụ ha, ka o ji si nʼIjipt dupụta unu nʼihu ya. Ọ bụkwa ike aka ya ka o ji mezuo nke a.
Because he loved your fathers, therefore he chose their descendants after them, and brought you out with his presence, with his great power, out of Egypt;
38 Ka o site nʼihu unu chụpụ mba dị ukwuu na ndị dị ike, ma kpọbata unu nʼala ha, inye unu ala ahụ dịka ihe nketa unu, dị ka o si dị taa.
to drive out nations from before you greater and mightier than you, to bring you in, to give you their land for an inheritance, as at this day.
39 Matanụ nke ọma, ma nabata okwu a nʼobi unu na Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke nʼeluigwe na nʼụwa. O nwekwaghị chi ọzọ dị ma ọ bụghị ya.
Know therefore this day, and lay it to your heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.
40 Debenụ ụkpụrụ ya na iwu ndị a niile m na-enye unu taa, ka ihe niile gaara unu na ụmụ unu nke ọma, ka unu biekwa nʼala ahụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke na-enye unu ruo mgbe niile.
You shall keep his statutes, and his commandments, which I command you this day, that it may go well with you, and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD your God gives you, forever.
41 Mgbe ahụ, Mosis họpụtara obodo atọ nʼofe ọwụwa anyanwụ nke osimiri Jọdan,
Then Moses set apart three cities beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise;
