< Diuteronomi 18 >

1 Ndị nchụaja bụ ndị Livayị, na ndị ebo Livayị niile agaghị enwe oke maọbụ ihe nketa ọbụla dịka ebo ndị ọzọ nʼIzrel. Ihe onyinye ịchụ aja niile e wetara nʼihu Onyenwe anyị site nʼọkụ bụ ihe nketa ha.
The priests, who are Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, will have no portion nor inheritance with Israel; they must eat the offerings of Yahweh made by fire as their inheritance.
2 Ha agaghị enwe ihe nketa ọbụla nʼetiti ụmụ Izrel ndị ọzọ, nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị abụrụla ihe nketa nke ha dịka o kwere ha na nkwa.
They must have no inheritance among their brothers; Yahweh is their inheritance, as he said to them.
3 Nke ga-abụ oke ruuru ndị nchụaja nʼebe ndị mmadụ nọ, nʼebe ndị na-achụ aja, site nʼanụ ehi maọbụ atụrụ: a ga-enye onye nchụaja ubu aka ya, agba ya abụọ na afọ ya.
This is the share given to the priests, given to them from the people who offer a sacrifice, whether it be an oxen or a sheep: the shoulder, the two cheeks, and the inner parts.
4 Ha ga-enwetakwa mkpụrụ mbụ nke owuwe ihe ubi unu, ya bụ, ọka mbụ unu, mmanya vaịnị ọhụrụ unu, mmanụ oliv unu na ajị mbụ a kpụchapụtara site nʼahụ igwe atụrụ unu.
The firstfruits of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep, you must give him.
5 Nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu ahọpụtala ebo Livayị na ụmụ ụmụ ha site nʼebo niile nke Izrel ka ha bụrụ ndị ga-eguzo jee ozi nʼihu Onyenwe anyị oge niile.
For Yahweh your God has chosen him out of all your tribes to stand to serve in the name of Yahweh, him and his sons forever.
6 Onye Livayị ọbụla si nʼebe o bi kwapụ gaa biri nʼobodo ọzọ nʼIzrel nwere ike ije nʼebe ịchụ aja Onyenwe anyị họpụtara,
If a Levite comes from any of your towns out of all Israel from where he is living, and desires with all his soul to come to the place Yahweh will choose,

then he must serve in the name of Yahweh his God as all his brothers the Levites do, who stand there before Yahweh.
8 Ọ ga-esokwa keta oke a na-ekenye ndị Livayị bi nʼobodo ahụ, nʼagbanyeghị na ọ na-enweta ego site nʼorire e rere ihe onwunwe ezinaụlọ ya.
They must have similar portions to eat, besides of what comes of the sale of his family's inheritance.
9 Mgbe ị banyere nʼala ahụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị na-enye gị, amụtakwala ime omume arụ dịka ndị mba bi nʼala ahụ.
When you have come into the land that Yahweh your God is giving you, you must not learn to observe the abominations of those nations.
10 Ka a hapụ ịchọta onye ọbụla nʼetiti gị nke na-ewere nwa ya nwoke maọbụ nwanyị nye ka a kpọọ ya ọkụ nʼihi ịchụrụ chi ndị mba ọzọ aja. Ka onye Izrel ọbụla ghara ịbụ onye na-ajụ mmụọ ase maọbụ onye mgbaasị maọbụ na-agba aja,
There must not be found among you anyone who sacrifices his son or his daughter in the fire, anyone who uses divination or tells fortunes, or reads signs found in a cup, or engages in witchcraft,
11 maọbụ onye na-akụ mmadụ ibe ya ọgwụ, maọbụ onye na-ajụ mmụọ ọjọọ ase, maọbụ dibịa afa maọbụ onye na-ajụ ase site nʼaka ndị nwụrụ anwụ.
any charmer, anyone who conjurs up spirits, or one who casts spells, or who talks with spirits of the dead.
12 Onye ọbụla na-eme ihe ndị a bụ onye Onyenwe anyị kpọrọ asị. Ọ bụkwa nʼihi ihe arụ ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị ji na-achụpụ ndị bi nʼala a.
For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh; it is because of these abominations that Yahweh your God is driving them out from before you.
13 Ị ghaghị ịbụ onye zuruoke nʼụzọ niile nʼihu Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị.
You must be blameless before Yahweh your God.
14 Mba ndị ị na-aga inweta ala ha bụ ndị na-ajụ ase site nʼaka ndị mgbaasị na ndị na-agba aja, ma Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị anabataghị na ị ga-eme ihe dị otu ahụ.
For these nations that you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery and divination; but as for you, Yahweh your God has not allowed you to do so.
15 Kama Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị ga-eme ka onye amụma nke dị ka m biliere unu site nʼetiti unu, site nʼetiti ndị unu bụ Izrel. Ọ bụ ya ka unu ga-aṅa ntị.
Yahweh your God will raise up for you a prophet from among you, one of your brothers, like me. You must listen to him.
16 Nʼihi na nke a bụ ihe gị onwe gị rịọrọ Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke gị nʼugwu Horeb, nʼụbọchị mkpokọta ahụ. I kwuru sị, “Anyị achọghị ịnụ olu Onyenwe anyị maọbụ hụ ọkụ ahụ dị egwu anya ọzọ, ka anyị ghara ịnwụ.”
This is what you asked from Yahweh your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, 'Let us not hear again the voice of Yahweh our God, nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die.'
17 Nʼihi ya, Onyenwe anyị gwara m okwu sị m, “Ihe ha kwuru dị mma.
Yahweh said to me, 'What they have said is good.
18 Aga m eme ka onye amụma bilie nʼetiti ha, onye Izrel dịka gị. Aga m agwa ya ihe ọ ga-ekwu, okwu niile m tinyere nʼọnụ ya ka ọ ga-agwa ha.
I will raise up a prophet for them from among their brothers, just like you. I will put my words in his mouth, and he will speak to them all that I command him.
19 Onye ọbụla jụrụ ige ntị nʼokwu m niile nke onye amụma ga-agwa ha nʼaha m ka mụ onwe m ga-emesi ike.
It will happen that if anyone does not listen to the words of mine that he speaks in my name, I will require it of him.
20 Ma onye amụma ọbụla sitere na nganga obi ya kwuo okwu nʼaha m, bụ okwu nke m na-ezighị ya ka o kwuo, ga-anwụ, maọbụ onye amụma ọbụla nke kwuru okwu nʼaha chi ndị ọzọ, onye amụma ahụ ga-anwụkwa.”
But the prophet who speaks a word arrogantly in my name, a word that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that very prophet must die.'
21 I nwere ike ikwu nʼobi gị sị, “Olee otu anyị ga-esi mata na okwu e kwuru si nʼaka Onyenwe anyị nʼezie?”
This is what you must say in your heart: 'How will we recognize a message that Yahweh has not spoken?'
22 Otu a ka unu ga-esi mata, ọ bụrụ na ihe onye amụma buru nʼamụma nʼaha Onyenwe anyị emezughị, okwu ahụ esighị nʼebe Onyenwe anyị nọ bịa. Ọ bụ okwu onye amụma ahụ chepụtara kwuo nʼonwe ya. Unu atụla ya ụjọ.
You will recognize a message that Yahweh has spoken when a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh. If that thing does not occur nor happen, then that is something that Yahweh has not spoken and the prophet has spoken it arrogantly, and you must not be afraid of him.
