The message of Amos, one of the sheep breeders of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the reign of King Uzziah of Judah, and in the reign of Jeroboam the son of King Joash of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

Amos said: Whenever the Lord roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem, the pastures of the shepherds dry up, the top of Carmel becomes arid.

The Lord says: For Damascus’ three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron.
4 Nʼihi ya, aga m esunye ọkụ nʼụlọeze Hazael; ọkụ a ga-erepịakwa ebe niile e wusiri ike nke Ben-Hadad.
Therefore I will send fire on Hazael’s house, it will devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
5 Aga m etiji ibo ọnụ ụzọ ama Damaskọs, aga m ekpochapụkwa ndị niile bi na Ndagwurugwu Aven, na onye ahụ mkpara eze dị nʼaka ya, nke nọ na Bet-Eden. Ndị Aram ga-abụkwa ndị a dọtara nʼagha, ndị a ga-adọkpụrụ gaa Kia.” Ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru.
I will break open the gate of Damascus, I will wipe out those who live in the valley of Aven and the sceptered ruler of Beth-Eden. The people of Aram will go into captivity in Kir, says the Lord.

The Lord says: For Gaza’s three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They carried away captive a whole nation, sold them as slaves to Edom.
7 Nʼihi ya, aga m esunye ọkụ na mgbidi niile nke Gaza, ebe ya niile e wusiri ike ga-agba ọkụ.
Therefore I will send fire on the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour her palaces.
8 Aga m egbu ndị Ashdọd, ma bibiekwa onye ahụ na-achị Ashkelọn. Aga eweli aka m megide ndị Ekrọn, ruo mgbe ndị Filistia fọdụrụ ga-ala nʼiyi.” Otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị sịrị.
And I will wipe out those who live in Ashdod, and the sceptered ruler of Askelon. I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines will perish, says the Lord.
9 Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu, “Nʼihi njehie atọ nke Taịa, e, nʼihi nke anọ, agaghị m ahapụ inye ya ntaramahụhụ. Nʼihi na ha dọkpụrụ ọgbakọ ndị mmadụ renye nʼaka Edọm dịka ohu, ma chefuo ọgbụgba ndụ nwanne na nwanne dị nʼetiti ha.
The Lord says: For Tyre’s three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They carried away captive a whole people into exile in Edom, and did not remember the brotherly covenant.
10 Nʼihi nke a, aga m esunye ọkụ na mgbidi niile nke Taịa; ọ ga-eredakwa ebe ha niile e wusiri ike.”
So I will send fire on the walls of Tyre. It will devour her palaces.
11 Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu, “Nʼihi njehie atọ nke Edọm, e, nʼihi nke anọ, agaghị m ahapụ inye ya ntaramahụhụ. Nʼihi na o ji mma agha chụọ nwanne ya ọsọ, o meghị ebere, kama, o mere ka iwe ya dịgidesie ike; nrubiga oke nke ọnụma ya akwụsịkwaghị akwụsị.
The Lord says: For Edom’s three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They pursued their relatives with the sword, stilled their pity, cherished their anger continually, retained their fury forever.
12 Nʼihi ya, aga m esunye ọkụ na Teman; ọ ga-erekwa nʼebe niile e wusiri ike nke Bozra.”
So I will send a fire into Teman. It will destroy the palaces of Bozrah.
13 Ma otu a ka Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu, “Nʼihi njehie atọ nke Amọn, e, nʼihi nke anọ, agaghị m ahapụ inye ya ntaramahụhụ, nʼihi na ha were mma agha ha bọwaa afọ ụmụ nwanyị Gilead dị ime, nʼihi ime ka oke ala ha saa mbara.
The Lord says: For Ammonites’ three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They have ripped open pregnant women in Gilead, in their lust for land.

So I will kindle a fire on the wall of Rabbah. It will destroy her palaces, with a war-cry in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind.
15 Eze ha na ndịisi ọchịchị ya ga-abụ ndị a dọtara nʼagha, ndị ga-aga biri nʼala ọzọ.” Ka Onyenwe anyị sịrị.
Their king will go into exile, he and his nobles together, says the Lord.
