1 Nụrụ okwu a, unu nne ehi nke Bashan, ndị na-ebi nʼelu ugwu Sameria, unu ndị inyom na-emegbu ndị ogbenye, ma zọpịakwa ndị mkpa na-akpa, ndị na-asị di ha, “welatara anyị ihe ọṅụṅụ”
Listen to this message, you well-fed cows of Bashan who live on Mount Samaria, who oppress the poor and crush the needy, and who order your husbands, “Bring us drinks!”
2 Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị ewerela ịdị nsọ ya ṅụọ iyi, sị, “Ụbọchị ahụ aghaghị ịbịa mgbe a ga-eji nko dọkpụrụ unu pụọ; jiri nko azụ dọkpụrụ ọ bụladị onye ikpeazụ nʼime unu.
The Lord God has sworn by his holiness: Watch out! For the time is coming when they will drag you away with hooks, each one of you will be like a fish on a hook.

Burn a thank offering of bread made with yeast, and announce what you're giving as freewill offerings so everyone will know. This is what you love to do! declares the Lord God.
6 “E mere m ka unu nwee eze dị ọcha nʼobodo unu niile, mekwa ka ụkọ nri dị nʼọnụmara unu niile ma unu alọghachikwuteghị m.” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara.
It was I who made sure you had nothing to eat in all your cities, and a lack of food wherever you lived, but still you wouldn't return to me, says the Lord.
7 “Ọzọkwa, Mụ onwe m gbochikwara mmiri izoro unu, mgbe ọ fọdụrụ ọnwa atọ tupu owuwe ihe ubi ebido. Enyere m otu obodo mmiri ozuzo, ma gbochie ya izoro obodo nke ọzọ. Mmiri zoro nʼotu ubi, ma nke mmiri ezoghị na ya kpọnwụrụ.
It was I who kept the rain from falling when there was still three months before harvest. One city would have rain, while another would not. One field would have rain, another would dry up from lack of rain.
8 Ndị si obodo abụọ maọbụ atọ chọrọ mmiri ọṅụṅụ jee nʼobodo ọzọ, ma ha enwetaghị nke ha ji aṅụju afọ, ma nʼime ihe ndị a niile unu alọghachikwuteghị m.” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara.
People wandered from town to town looking for water, yet were still thirsty. But still you did not return to me, declares the Lord.
9 “Ezitere m ọrịa nchakpọ nʼubi unu niile a gbara ogige, ya na ubi vaịnị unu niile, ọtụtụ oge, werekwa ọrịa na-eripịa ihe ubi na ọmụma ebu bibie ha, zitekwa igurube nke richapụrụ osisi fiig na osisi oliv unu niile, ma nke a emeghị ka unu lọghachikwute m.” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara.
I struck your many farms and vineyards with blight and mildew; locusts devoured your fig trees and olive trees. But still you did not return to me, declares the Lord.
10 “Ezitere m nʼetiti unu ajọ ọrịa na-efe efe dịka ndị ahụ m zitere ndị Ijipt. Ejiri m mma agha gbuo ụmụ okorobịa unu, mee ka a dọta ịnyịnya agha unu nʼagha. Emere m ka isisi ọjọọ ndị niile nwuru nʼọmụma ụlọ ikwu unu jupụta imi unu, ma nke a emeghị ka unu lọghachikwute m.” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara.
I sent a plague on you like I did in Egypt. I killed your young men in battle; I took away your horses; I made you smell the stench of dead bodies in your camps. But still you did not return to me, declares the Lord.
11 “Akwaturu m ụfọdụ nʼime unu dịka mgbe Chineke kwaturu Sọdọm na Gọmọra. Unu dịka ọlọkọ nkụ ọkụ alọpụtara site nʼọkụ, ma unu alọghachikwuteghị m,” otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri.
Some of you I destroyed as I destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. You were like a burning stick pulled out of a fire. But still you did not return to me, declares the Lord.
12 “Nʼihi ya, ihe ndị a ka m na-aga ime gị, gị bụ Izrel. Ebe ọ bụkwa na ejikerela m ime gị ihe ndị a, jikere, O Izrel, izute Chineke gị.”
Therefore, this is what I am going to do to you, Israel. Because I am going to do this, Israel, prepare to meet your God!
13 Ma lee, onye na-akpụ ugwu niile, onye na-ekekwa ifufe, nke na-ekpughekwa echiche uche ya nye mmadụ, onye na-emekwa ka chi ọbụbọ ghọọ ọchịchịrị, na-azọchakwa ugwu niile nʼọbụụkwụ ya, Onyenwe anyị Chineke Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile bụ aha ya.
Watch! The One who made the mountains, who created the winds, who reveals his thoughts to humankind, who turns the sunlight into darkness, who walks on the high places of the earth—the Lord God of power is his name!
