< Emọs 3 >
1 Nụrụnụ okwu ndị a nke Onyenwe anyị kwuru megide unu, unu ndị Izrel, megidekwa ezinaụlọ ahụ niile nke m kpọpụtara site nʼala Ijipt.
People of Israel, listen to this message that the Lord has spoken against you—all of you, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt.
2 “Naanị unu ka m họọrọ nʼime ezinaụlọ niile nke nọ nʼelu ụwa; Ọ bụ nʼihi nke a ka m ga-eji nye unu ahụhụ nʼihi mmehie unu niile.”
I chose a special relationship with you alone out of all the families of the earth, and so I will punish you for your wrongdoing.
3 Mmadụ abụọ ga-esi aṅaa jekọọ ije ma ọ bụrụ na ha enweghị nkwekọrịta?
Can two people walk together unless they have arranged to meet?
4 Ọdụm ọ na-agbọ ụja nʼọhịa ma ọ bụrụ na o nweghị anụ ọ hụrụ? Nwa ọdụm ọ na-ebigbọ nʼime olulu ya, mgbe ọ dịghị anụ ọ dọgburu?
Does a lion roar in the forest before finding its prey? Does a young lion growl from its den if it has caught nothing?
Does a bird fall into a trap and get caught unless the spring is set? Does a trap spring shut if there's nothing there to catch?
6 Mgbe a fụrụ opi nʼobodo, ọ bụ na ndị bi nʼime ya adịghị ama jijiji? Mgbe mbibi na ịla nʼiyi dakwasịrị obodo ọbụla ọ bụghị Onyenwe anyị mere ka ọ dị?
When the trumpet sounds in the city, shouldn't the people be alarmed? When a disaster comes to a city, isn't it the Lord who does it?
7 Nʼezie Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị adịghị eme ihe ọbụla tutu ruo mgbe o buru ụzọ gosi ya ndị na-ejere ya ozi bụ ndị amụma.
For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his intentions to his servants the prophets.
8 Ọdụm agbọọla ụja, o nwere onye na-agaghị atụ egwu? Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị ekwuola okwu, onye ga-ahapụ ibu amụma?
The lion has roared—so who isn't scared? The Lord God has spoken—so who can refuse to speak for him?
9 Kwusaanụ ya nʼobodo niile e wusiri ike nke Ashdọd na ebe niile e wusiri ike nke Ijipt, sị, “Zukọtanụ nʼelu ugwu niile nke Sameria ka unu hụ oke ọgbaaghara nke dị nʼetiti ya na mmegbu niile nke dị nʼetiti ndị ya.”
Announce this to the fortresses of Ashdod and to the fortresses in the land of Egypt: Assemble yourselves on Samaria's mountains and see all the turmoil and oppression happening in the country.
10 “Ha echezọọla ime ezi ihe.” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara, “bụ ndị ahụ na-akpakọba ihe e zutere nʼohi na ihe e sitere nʼaka ike pụnara ndị mmadụ nʼime nʼụlọ ha niile e wusiri ike.”
They don't know how to do what is right, declares the Lord. They have stored up in their fortresses what they've taken by violence and robbery.
11 Nʼihi ya nke a bụ ihe Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwuru, “Onye iro na-abịa! Ọ ga-agba ala gị gburugburu; ọ ga-akwatu ebe niile gị bụ nke e wusiri ike, ma kwakọrọkwa ihe niile dị nʼụlọ gị ndị ahụ e wusiri ike.”
As a result, says the Lord, an enemy will surround you, break down your strongholds, and plunder your fortresses.
12 Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị sịrị, “Dịka onye ọzụzụ atụrụ si anapụta naanị ọkpụkpụ ụkwụ abụọ maọbụ iberibe ntị site nʼọnụ ọdụm, otu a ka a ga-esi zọpụta ụmụ Izrel bi na Sameria, na nkuku isi ihe ndina na nʼiberibe akwa ọma site nʼelu ihe ndina.”
This is what the Lord says: Just as a shepherd tries to rescue a sheep from a lion's mouth, but only saves a couple of legs or a piece of an ear, so it will be for the people of Israel living in Samaria—all that will be “saved” will be the corner of a couch and a piece of a leg from a bed.
13 “Nụrụ nke a, ma gbaanụ ama megide ụmụ Jekọb,” ọ bụ otu a ka Onyenwe anyị, bụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, kwubiri.
Listen! Warn the house of Jacob, declares the Lord God of power.
14 “Nʼụbọchị ahụ, m ga-enye Izrel ahụhụ nʼihi mmehie ha, aghaghị m imebikwa ebe ịchụ aja nke dị na Betel. Mpi dị nʼebe ịchụ aja ka a ga-ebipụkwa, mee ka ha daa nʼala.
For on that day I will punish Israel for their sins. I will destroy the altars of Bethel: the corners of the altar will be cut off and fall to the ground.
15 Aga m etida ụlọ ndị niile ha wuru maka oge oyi, na nke ha wuru maka oge okpomọkụ; aga m ebibikwa ụlọ ndị ahụ niile ha ji ọdụ enyi wuo. Ọtụtụ ebe obibi ha niile ka a ga-etitukwa.” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri ya.
I will tear down their winter houses and their summer houses as well, their houses filled with ivory will be ruined—their many houses will be destroyed.
