1 Okwu ndị Emọs kwuru, onye bụ otu nʼime ndị ọzụzụ atụrụ nke obodo Tekoa. Ndị a bụ ọhụ ọ hụrụ banyere Izrel. Ọ hụrụ ọhụ a mgbe Uzaya bụ eze ndị Juda. Nʼoge ahụ kwa ka Jeroboam nwa Joash na-achị Izrel. Ọ hụrụ ọhụ a afọ abụọ tupu oke ala ọma jijiji ahụ adịrị.
Words of Amos — who hath been among herdsmen of Tekoa — that he hath seen concerning Israel, in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the shaking;
2 Ọ sịrị, Onyenwe anyị si nʼugwu Zayọn na-ebigbọ, o si na Jerusalem na-eme ka olu ya daa ụda. Ebe ịta nri nke ndị ọzụzụ atụrụ ga-eru ụjụ. Elu ugwu Kamel ga-akpọnwụkwa.
and he saith: Jehovah from Zion doth roar, And from Jerusalem giveth forth His voice, And mourned have pastures of the shepherds, And withered hath the top of Carmel!
3 Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu, “Nʼihi njehie atọ nke Damaskọs, na nʼihi njehie ha nke ugboro anọ, agaghị m ahapụ inye ya ntaramahụhụ. Nʼihi na ha azọpịala ndị m nʼime Gilead, ha ji igwe ịzọcha mkpụrụ ọka nwere eze.
And thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Damascus, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their threshing Gilead with sharp-pointed irons,
4 Nʼihi ya, aga m esunye ọkụ nʼụlọeze Hazael; ọkụ a ga-erepịakwa ebe niile e wusiri ike nke Ben-Hadad.
And I have sent a fire against the house of Hazael, And it hath consumed the palaces of Ben-Hadad.
5 Aga m etiji ibo ọnụ ụzọ ama Damaskọs, aga m ekpochapụkwa ndị niile bi na Ndagwurugwu Aven, na onye ahụ mkpara eze dị nʼaka ya, nke nọ na Bet-Eden. Ndị Aram ga-abụkwa ndị a dọtara nʼagha, ndị a ga-adọkpụrụ gaa Kia.” Ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru.
And I have broken the bar of Damascus, And cut off the inhabitant from Bikat-Aven, And a holder of a sceptre from Beth-Eden, And removed have been the people of Aram to Kir, said Jehovah.
6 Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu, “Nʼihi njehie atọ nke Gaza, e, nʼihi njehie nke anọ, agaghị m ahapụ inye ya ntaramahụhụ, nʼihi na ha dọtara mmadụ niile nʼagha, ranye nʼaka ndị Edọm.
Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gaza, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their removing a complete captivity, To deliver up to Edom,
7 Nʼihi ya, aga m esunye ọkụ na mgbidi niile nke Gaza, ebe ya niile e wusiri ike ga-agba ọkụ.
And I have sent a fire against the wall of Gaza, And it hath consumed her palaces;
8 Aga m egbu ndị Ashdọd, ma bibiekwa onye ahụ na-achị Ashkelọn. Aga eweli aka m megide ndị Ekrọn, ruo mgbe ndị Filistia fọdụrụ ga-ala nʼiyi.” Otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị sịrị.
And I have cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, And a holder of a sceptre from Ashkelon, And have turned back My hand against Ekron, And perished have the remnant of the Philistines, Said the Lord Jehovah.
9 Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu, “Nʼihi njehie atọ nke Taịa, e, nʼihi nke anọ, agaghị m ahapụ inye ya ntaramahụhụ. Nʼihi na ha dọkpụrụ ọgbakọ ndị mmadụ renye nʼaka Edọm dịka ohu, ma chefuo ọgbụgba ndụ nwanne na nwanne dị nʼetiti ha.
Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their delivering up a complete captivity to Edom, And they remembered not the brotherly covenant,
10 Nʼihi nke a, aga m esunye ọkụ na mgbidi niile nke Taịa; ọ ga-eredakwa ebe ha niile e wusiri ike.”
And I have sent a fire against the wall of Tyre, And it hath consumed her palaces.
11 Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu, “Nʼihi njehie atọ nke Edọm, e, nʼihi nke anọ, agaghị m ahapụ inye ya ntaramahụhụ. Nʼihi na o ji mma agha chụọ nwanne ya ọsọ, o meghị ebere, kama, o mere ka iwe ya dịgidesie ike; nrubiga oke nke ọnụma ya akwụsịkwaghị akwụsị.
Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of his pursuing with a sword his brother, And he hath destroyed his mercies, And tear perpetually doth his anger, And his wrath — he hath kept it for ever,
12 Nʼihi ya, aga m esunye ọkụ na Teman; ọ ga-erekwa nʼebe niile e wusiri ike nke Bozra.”
And I have sent a fire against Teman, And it hath consumed palaces of Bozrah.
13 Ma otu a ka Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu, “Nʼihi njehie atọ nke Amọn, e, nʼihi nke anọ, agaghị m ahapụ inye ya ntaramahụhụ, nʼihi na ha were mma agha ha bọwaa afọ ụmụ nwanyị Gilead dị ime, nʼihi ime ka oke ala ha saa mbara.
Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their ripping up the pregnant ones of Gilead, To enlarge their border,
14 Nʼihi nke a, aga m esunye ọkụ na mgbidi niile nke Raba. Ọ ga-erepịakwa ebe ya niile e wusiri ike. Oke ụzụ agha nke ga-ada dịka ụzụ oke ifufe, na ụzụ egbe eluigwe ga na-ada nʼụbọchị ahụ.
And I have kindled a fire against the wall of Rabbah, And it hath consumed her palaces, With a shout in a day of battle, With a whirlwind in a day of hurricane,
15 Eze ha na ndịisi ọchịchị ya ga-abụ ndị a dọtara nʼagha, ndị ga-aga biri nʼala ọzọ.” Ka Onyenwe anyị sịrị.
And gone hath their king in a removal, He and his heads together, said Jehovah!
