< Ọrụ Ndị Ozi 8 >

1 Sọl kwenyere ka e gbuo ya. Nʼụbọchị ahụ, oke mkpagbu bidoro megide nzukọ dị na Jerusalem. Ndị niile kwere ekwe, ma ewezuga ndị ozi nʼonwe ha gbasasịrị nʼala Judịa na Sameria.
And Saul was consenting to his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
2 Ndị ikom, ndị na-atụ egwu Chineke, bịara buru ozu Stivin gaa lie ya. Ha ruru ụjụ nke ukwuu nʼihi ya.
And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
3 Ma Sọl bidoro ịla nzukọ nʼiyi. Ọ na-abanye site nʼụlọ ga nʼụlọ ndị kwere ekwe na-adọpụta ha, nwoke na nwanyị, tinye ha nʼụlọ mkpọrọ.
As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering into every house, and dragging off men and women committed them to prison.
4 Ndị ahụ a chụsasịrị zisara oziọma nʼebe niile ha gbagara.
Therefore they that were scattered went every where preaching the word.
5 Filip gara nʼotu obodo dị na Sameria kwusaara ndị nọ nʼebe ahụ ihe banyere Kraịst.
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ to them.
6 Igwe mmadụ gere ntị nʼihe Filip na-ekwu nʼihi na ha hụrụ ọrụ ịrịbama ọ rụrụ.
And the people with one accord gave heed to those things which Philip spoke, hearing and seeing the miracles which he was performing.
7 Mmụọ ndị ahụ na-adịghị ọcha ji iti mkpu site nʼime ọtụtụ mmadụ pụta. Ọ gwọkwara ọtụtụ ndị ahụ ha kpọnwụrụ akpọnwụ na ndị ngwụrọ.
For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed and many sick with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 Nʼihi ya, ọṅụ dị ukwuu jupụtara nʼobodo ahụ.
And there was great joy in that city.
9 Ugbu a, kemgbe ọtụtụ oge gara aga, otu nwoke aha ya bụ Saimọn bụ onye mgbaasị. O jirila mgbaasị ya mee ọtụtụ ihe tụrụ ndị niile bi nʼobodo Sameria nʼanya. Ọ na-anyakwa isi na ya bụ onye dị ukwu.
But there was a certain man, called Simon, who before in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, saying that he was some great person:
10 Onye ọbụla, ma onye ukwu ma onye nta, na-ege ya ntị na-asịkwa “Nwoke a bụ ike Chineke ahụ a na-akpọ Ike dị ukwuu.”
To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
11 Ha na-ege ya ntị oge niile nʼihi na ọ na-eji ike mgbaasị ya na-eme ihe juru ha anya.
And to him they had regard, because that for a long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12 Ma mgbe ha kwenyere nʼoziọma Filip dịka ọ na-ekwusa ihe banyere oziọma alaeze Chineke na aha Jisọs Kraịst, e mere ha baptizim, ma nwoke ma nwanyị ha.
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Saimọn kwerekwara otu aka ahụ. Mgbe e mechara ya baptizim, o bidoro iso Filip na-agagharị nʼihi ihe ịrịbama na ọrụ ebube niile Filip rụrụ, tụrụ ya nʼanya nke ukwuu.
Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and was amazed, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 Mgbe ndị ozi nọ na Jerusalem nụrụ na ndị Sameria anabatala okwu nke Chineke, ha zigaara ha Pita na Jọn.
Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John:
15 Mgbe ha bịaruru, ha kpere ekpere ka ha nata Mmụọ Nsọ.
Who, when they had come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit:
16 Nʼihi na Mmụọ Nsọ abịakwasịbeghị onye ọbụla nʼime ha, kama ihe e mere ha bụ baptizim nʼaha Onyenwe anyị Jisọs.
( For as yet he had fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Mgbe Pita na Jọn bikwasịrị ha aka nʼisi, ha natara Mmụọ Nsọ.
Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
18 Mgbe Saimọn hụrụ na a na-enye Mmụọ Nsọ naanị site nʼaka ndị ozi bikwasịrị ha nʼisi, o chere ha ego nʼihu,
And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,
19 sị, “nyekwanụ m ike a. Ka onye ọbụla m bikwasịrị aka nʼisi nata Mmụọ Nsọ.”
Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.
20 Ma Pita sịrị, “Gị na ego gị laakwa nʼiyi. Nʼihi na i chere na ị ga-eji ego zụta onyinye Chineke.
But Peter said to him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 I nweghị oke maọbụ ihe nketa nʼọrụ a, nʼihi na obi gị ezighị ezi nʼihu Chineke.
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Si nʼajọ omume gị chegharịa, rịọ Onyenwe anyị arịrịọ ma eleghị anya ọ ga-agbaghara gị echiche ọjọọ niile nke obi gị.
Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thy heart may be forgiven thee.
23 Nʼihi na ahụrụ m na ị jupụtara nʼobi ilu na ị nọkwa nʼagbụ nke ajọ omume.”
For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
24 Saimọn zara Pita sị, “Biko, kpee ekpere rịọrọ m Chineke, ka ihe ndị a niile i kwuru, hapụ ịbịakwasị m.”
Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.
25 Mgbe ha gbachara akaebe, ma kwusaakwa okwu nke Onyenwe anyị, ha lọghachiri Jerusalem. Ma mgbe ha na-ala ha zisara oziọma nʼọtụtụ obodo ndị Sameria.
And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
26 Mgbe ahụ mmụọ ozi Onyenwe anyị gwara Filip sị, “Gaa na ndịda, nʼụzọ ọzara nke siri Jerusalem gawa Gaza, ụzọ ahụ bụ ụzọ ọzara.”
And the angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south to the way that goeth down from Jerusalem to Gaza, which is desert.
27 O biliri gawa. Mgbe ahụ, otu onye Itiopia bụ onye onozi, bụrụkwa onyeisi ozi dị mkpa, onye na-eche akụ nke Kandis, eze nwanyị ndị Itiopia, gara Jerusalem ife Chineke.
And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem to worship,
28 Mgbe ọ na-ala, ọ nọdụrụ ala nʼụgbọala ya, nke ịnyịnya na-adọkpụgharị, na-agụ akwụkwọ Aịzaya onye amụma.
Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Isaiah the prophet.
29 Mmụọ Nsọ gwara Filip, “Gaa ụgbọ ahụ nso, sonyekwara ya.”
Then the Spirit said to Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
30 Filip gara nso, nụkwa ka ọ na-agụ akwụkwọ Aịzaya onye amụma. Ọ sịrị, “Ị na-aghọta ihe ị na-agụ?”
And Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31 Ọ sịrị, “M ga-esi aṅaa ghọta, ma mmadụ ezighị m?” Ọ rịọrọ Filip ka ọ rigota nʼụgbọala ahụ, soro ya nọdụ nʼime ya.
And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he besought Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
32 Mpaghara akwụkwọ nsọ ọ na-agụ bụ nke a, “E duuru ya dị ka atụrụ gaa nʼebe a ga-egbu ya. Dịka nwa atụrụ na-anọ nwayọọ nʼihu onye na-akpacha ya ajị, otu a ka ọ na-emegheghị ọnụ ya.
The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so he opened not his mouth:
33 Nʼọnọdụ ịdị ala ya, e meghị ka ikpe ziri ezi ruo ya aka. Onye ga-akọ akụkọ banyere agbụrụ ya? Nʼihi na e sitere nʼụwa wepụ ndụ ya.”
In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
34 Onozi ahụ jụrụ Filip, “Biko, gwa m, onye ka onye amụma a na-ekwu okwu ya? Ọ bụ ihe banyere onwe ya ka ọ na-ekwu, ka ọ bụ banyere onye ọzọ?”
And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
35 Mgbe ahụ, Filip malitere ikwu okwu, site nʼakụkọ akwụkwọ nsọ ọ na-agụ kọọrọ ya akụkọ oziọma banyere Jisọs.
Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached to him Jesus.
36 Mgbe ha na-aga nʼụzọ, ha bịaruru ebe ọdọ mmiri nta dị. Onozi ahụ sịrị, “Lee, nke a bụ mmiri. Ọ dị ihe ga-egbochi ime m baptizim?”
And as they went on their way, they came to a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 Filip sịrị, “Ọ bụrụ na i ji obi gị niile kwere, e nwere ike ime gị baptizim.” Onozi ahụ sịrị, “Ekwere m na Jisọs Kraịst bụ Ọkpara Chineke.”
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thy heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 O kwuru ka a kwụsị ụgbọala ahụ. Mgbe ahụ, onozi ahụ na Filip wụdatara banye nʼime mmiri ebe Filip nọ mee ya baptizim.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 Mgbe ha sitere nʼime mmiri ahụ pụta, ngwangwa Mmụọ Onyenwe anyị sitere nʼebe ahụ wepụ Filip, onye onozi ahụ ahụkwaghị ya anya ọzọ; kama ọ gara nʼihu nʼije ya na-aṅụrịkwa ọṅụ.
And when they had come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
40 Ebe ọzọ a hụrụ Filip bụ nʼAzọtus. O jegharịkwara nʼobodo niile dị nʼala ahụ, na-ekwusa oziọma ruo mgbe ọ bịaruru Sizaria.
But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
