< Ọrụ Ndị Ozi 5 >
1 Ma otu nwoke a na-akpọ Ananayas na nwunye ya bụ Safaịra rekwara ala nke ha.
Now a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a piece of property,
and he kept back part of the sale money (his wife also knew it), and brought the other part of it and laid it at the apostles' feet.
3 Pita sịrị, “Ananayas, gịnị mere ekwensu jiri jupụta obi gị mee ka ị ghaara mmụọ nsọ ụgha mgbe i zopuuru onwe gị ego site nʼime ego i retara nʼala gị?
But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Ọ bụghị gị nwe ala ahụ tupu e ree ya? Mgbe e rechara ya, ego e retara ya ọ bụghị nke gị, iji mee ka ị chọrọ? Gịnị mere i ji chee echiche ime ihe dị otu a? Ọ bụghị mmadụ ka ị ghaara ụgha kama ọ bụ Chineke.”
While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own, and after it was sold, was it not in your control? How is it that you thought of this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God.”
5 Mgbe Ananayas nụrụ okwu ndị a, ọ dara nʼala nwụọ, egwu jidekwara ndị niile nụrụ ihe mere.
Hearing these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last, and great fear came upon all who heard it.
6 Ụmụ okorobịa ndị nọ ebe ahụ batara jiri akwa kee ozu ya bupụ ya ga lie.
The young men came forward and wrapped him up, and they carried him out and buried him.
7 Mgbe ihe dịka awa atọ gasịrị, nwunye ya batakwara, ma ọ matabeghị ihe mere di ya.
After about three hours, his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.
8 Pita jụrụ ya, gwa m, “ọ bụ ego ole a ka gị na di gị retara ala ahụ?” Ọ sịrị, “E, ọ bụ ego ole ahụ ka anyị retara ya.”
Peter said to her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much.” She said, “Yes, for so much.”
9 Pita sịrị ya, “Gịnị mere unu jiri kpebie ịnwa Mmụọ nke Onyenwe anyị ọnwụnwa? Gee ntị, nzọ ụkwụ ndị buuru di gị gaa lie nọ nʼọnụ ụzọ. Ha ga-ebupụkwa gị.”
Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”
She immediately fell down at his feet and breathed her last. When the young men came in, they found her dead, and carried her out and buried her beside her husband.
11 Oke egwu tụrụ nzukọ ahụ niile, tụọkwa ndị niile nụrụ akụkọ banyere ihe ndị a.
Great fear came upon the whole church, and upon all who heard these things.
12 Ndị ozi ahụ rụkwara ọrụ ebube na ọrụ ịrịbama dị ukwuu nʼetiti ndị mmadụ. Ha niile na-ezukọ na mgbe ụlọ Solomọn.
Many signs and wonders were taking place among the people through the hands of the apostles. They were all together in Solomon's Porch.
13 O nweghị onye ọbụla kwere iso ha ọzọ, nʼagbanyeghị na ọtụtụ mmadụ na-asọpụrụ ha.
But no one else had the courage to join them; however, they were held in high esteem by the people.
14 Ma otu ọ dị, ọtụtụ ndị nwoke na ndị nwanyị kwere nʼOnyenwe anyị sonyere ha.
Still more believers were being added to the Lord, multitudes of men and women,
15 Nʼihi nke a, ndị mmadụ bupụtara ndị ọrịa nʼokporoụzọ nibe ha nʼute na ihe ndina, ka ọ ga-abụ mgbe Pita na-agafe onyinyo ya ga-adakwasị ụfọdụ nʼime ha.
so that they even carried the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, so that as Peter came by, his shadow might fall on some of them.
16 Igwe mmadụ zukọtara site nʼobodo ndị dị Jerusalem gburugburu. Ha butekwara ndị nrịa nrịa, na ndị mmụọ na-adịghị ọcha na-enye nsogbu, a gwọkwara ha niile.
There also came together a great number of people from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
17 Mgbe ahụ onyeisi nchụaja na ndị otu ya so nʼotu ndị Sadusii ka ekworo jupụtara obi.
But the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees); and they were filled with jealousy
18 Ha jidere ndị ozi a tụba ha nʼụlọ mkpọrọ nke ọha mmadụ.
and laid hands on the apostles, and put them in the public jail.
19 Ma nʼoge abalị mmụọ ozi Onyenwe anyị meghere ọnụ ụzọ ụlọ mkpọrọ ahụ kpọpụta ha sị,
Yet during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and led them out, and said,
20 “Gaanụ, guzoronụ nʼụlọnsọ ukwu ahụ gwa ndị mmadụ ozi niile nke ndụ ọhụrụ a.”
“Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.”
21 Mgbe ha nụrụ nke a, nʼisi ụtụtụ, ha banyere nʼụlọnsọ ukwu malite izi ihe. Ma mgbe onyeisi nchụaja na ndị soo ya bịarutere, ha kpọrọ nzukọ ndị Sanhedrin nke bụ ọgbakọ jikọtara ndị okenye Izrel niile. Ha zipụrụ ozi ka e site nʼụlọ mkpọrọ kpụta ha.
When they heard this, they entered into the temple about daybreak and taught. But the high priest came, and those who were with him, and called the council together, all the elders of the people of Israel, and sent to the jail to have the apostles brought.
But the officers that went did not find them in the prison, and they returned and reported,
23 “Anyị hụrụ ka a kpọchiziri ụlọ mkpọrọ ahụ nke ọma, ndị nche guzokwa nʼọnụ ụzọ ya. Ma mgbe anyị meghere ụlọ mkpọrọ ahụ, anyị ahụghị onye ọbụla nʼime ya.”
“We found the jail securely shut and the guards standing at the door, but when we had opened it, we found no one inside.”
24 Mgbe onyeisi ndị agha na-eche ụlọnsọ ukwu na ndịisi nchụaja nụrụ okwu ndị a, ọ gbara ha gharịị, ha na-eche ihe nke a ga-apụta.
Now when the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these words, they were much perplexed concerning them as to what would come of it.
25 Nʼotu oge ahụ, otu onye gbabatara gwa ha, “Leenụ! Ndị ahụ unu tụbara nʼụlọ mkpọrọ guzo ugbu a nʼime ụlọnsọ ukwu na-ezi ndị mmadụ ihe.”
Then someone came and told them, “The men whom you put in the jail are standing in the temple and teaching the people.”
So the captain went with the officers, and brought them back, but without violence, for they feared that the people might stone them.
27 Mgbe a kpụtara ha, e mere ka ha guzoro nʼihu ọgbakọ ndị Sanhedrin, onyeisi nchụaja jụrụ ha ajụjụ,
When they had brought them, they set them before the council. The high priest interrogated them,
28 sị, “Ọ bụ anyị adọghị unu aka na ntị ka unu kwụsị ikuzi ihe nʼaha a; ma unu emeela ka ozizi unu jupụta Jerusalem niile kpebiekwa ime ka ọbara nwoke a dịrị anyị nʼisi.”
saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and desire to bring this man's blood upon us.”
29 Pita na ndị ozi ndị ọzọ zara sị, “Anyị ga-erubere Chineke isi ọ bụghị mmadụ.
But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.
30 Chineke nna nna anyị a kpọlitela Jisọs site nʼọnwụ bụ onye ahụ unu gburu site nʼịkpọgide ya nʼelu osisi.
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree.
God exalted him to his right hand to be a prince and a savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
32 Anyị bụ ndị ama nke ihe ndị a, Mmụọ Nsọ onye Chineke nyere ndị na-erubere ya isi bụkwa onyeama.”
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
33 Mgbe ha nụrụ nke a, ọ gbawara ha obi, ha chọọ igbu ha.
When the council members heard this, they were furious and wanted to kill the apostles.
34 Ma otu onye nʼime ha bụ onye Farisii, bụrụkwa onye ozizi iwu a na-asọpụrụ, aha ya bụ Gamaliel, biliri ọtọ nʼetiti ọgbakọ ahụ, nye iwu ka a kpọpụ ndị ozi ahụ nʼezi nwa oge nta.
But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people, stood up and commanded the apostles to be taken outside for a little while.
35 Ọ sịrị ha, “Ndị Izrel, leziekwanụ anya nke ọma ihe unu na-achọ ime ndị a.
Then he said to them, “Men of Israel, pay close attention to what you propose to do with these people.
For some time ago, Theudas rose up claiming to be somebody, and a number of men, about four hundred, joined him. He was killed, and all who had been obeying him were scattered and came to nothing.
After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census and drew away some people after him. He also perished, and all who had been obeying him were scattered.
Now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or work is of men, it will be overthrown.
But if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; you may even find that you are fighting against God.” So they were persuaded.
40 Ọgbakọ ahụ nabatara ndụmọdụ ya. Ha kpọrọ ndị ozi ahụ pịa ha ihe, nyekwa ha iwu ka ha kwụsị ikwu okwu nʼaha Jisọs, hapụkwa ha ka ha laa.
Then they called the apostles in and beat them and commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
They left the council rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name.
42 Ụbọchị niile, nʼime ụlọnsọ ukwu ma nʼụlọ ndị mmadụ ha na-akụzi ma na-ekwusa oziọma na Jisọs bụ Kraịst ahụ.
Thereafter every day, in the temple and from house to house, they were continuously teaching and proclaiming Jesus as the Christ.
