1 Mgbe ụbọchị Pentikọọsụ ruru, ha niile zukọtara nʼotu ebe.
And, when the day of pentecost was filling up [the number of days] they were all together with one intent; —
2 Na mberede, ụzụ yiri nke oke ifufe dị ike sitere nʼeluigwe bịa jupụta nʼụlọ ahụ ha nọ.
When there came suddenly out of heaven a sound, just as of a mighty rushing wind, —and it filled all the house where they were sitting;
3 Ha hụrụ ihe dịka ire ọkụ ka o kewara nọkwasị nʼisi ha nʼotu nʼotu.
And there appeared unto them—parting asunder—tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each one of them;
4 Ha niile jupụtara na Mmụọ Nsọ, malite ịsụ asụsụ dị iche iche dịka Mmụọ Nsọ nyere ha ike.
And they were all filled with Holy Spirit, and began to be speaking with other kinds of tongues just as the Spirit was giving unto them to be sounding forth.
Now there were in Jerusalem sojourning Jews, reverent men from every nation who were under heaven;
6 Igwe mmadụ gbakọtara nʼọnọdụ mgbagwoju anya mgbe ha nụrụ ụzụ ahụ, nʼihi na ha nụrụ ka ha na-asụ asụsụ nke onye ọbụla nʼime ha na-aghọta, nʼasụsụ obodo ha dị iche iche.
And this sound occurring the throng came together and was thrown into confusion, because each one severally heard in his own language them who were speaking;
7 Nʼoke iju anya, ha kwurịtara nʼonwe ha, “Ndị a niile na-ekwu okwu ha abụghị ndị Galili?
Yea they were beside themselves and did marvel, saying—Lo! are not all these who are speaking Galilaeans?
8 Gịnị mere onye ọbụla nʼime anyị ji na-anụ okwu ha na-ekwu nʼasụsụ ala anyị dị iche iche?
How then do, we, hear each one in our own language in which we were born?
9 Ndị Patia, na ndị Midia, na ndị Elam, ndị bikwa nʼime Mesopotamịa, ndị Judịa, na ndị Kapadosia, ndị Pọntọs, na ndị Eshịa,
Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judaea also and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
Phrygia also and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of the Libya that is towards Cyrene, and the sojourning Romans, —both Jews and proselytes,
11 (ndị Juu na ndị kwere nʼokpukpe ndị Juu). Ndị Kriit na ndị Arab; anyị na-anụ okwu ha na-ekwu nʼasụsụ anyị dị iche iche banyere ọrụ ebube Chineke.”
Cretans and Arabians, we do hear them speaking in our own tongues the magnificent things of God.
12 O juru ha anya, gbaakwa ha gharịị. Ha sịrịtara onwe ha, “Gịnị ka nke a bụ?”
But they were all beside themselves and were utterly at a loss, saying one to another—What doth this please to be?
13 Ma ụfọdụ ndị ọzọ na-akwa ha emo na-asị, “Ndị a bụ ndị mmanya na-egbu.”
While, others, in mockery were saying—With sweet wine, are they drunken!
But, taking his stand, Peter with the eleven lifted up his voice, and sounded out unto them—Ye men of Judaea, and all ye who are sojourning in Jerusalem! Let, this, unto you be known, and give ear unto my declarations; —
15 Ọ bụghị mmanya na-egbu ndị a dị ka unu chere. Lee, ọ bụ naanị elekere itoolu nke ụtụtụ na-akụ.
For not, as, ye, suppose, are these men drunken, for it is the third hour of the day; —
16 Mba, nke a bụ mmezu ihe Juel onye amụma kwuru,
But this is that which hath been spoken through the prophet Joel—
17 “‘Chineke sịrị, nʼoge ikpeazụ, aga m awụkwasị mmadụ niile Mmụọ m. Ụmụ unu ndị ikom na ụmụ unu ndị inyom ga-ebu amụma, ụmụ okorobịa unu ga-ahụkwa ọhụ, ndị okenye nwoke unu ga-arọ nrọ.
And it shall be, in the last days saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and, your young men, visions shall see and, your elders, in dreams shall dream, —
18 Ọ bụladị ndị ohu m, nwoke ha na nwanyị nʼime ha, ka m ga-awụkwasị Mmụọ m. Ha ga-ebukwa amụma.
And, even upon my men-servants and upon my maid-servants in those days, will I pour out of my Spirit, and they shall prophesy;
19 Aga m egosi ihe ịtụnanya na mbara eluigwe, gosikwa ihe ịrịbama nʼụwa na nʼokpuru ụwa, ọbara na ọkụ na alulu anwụrụ ọkụ.
And I will set forth wonders in the heaven above, and signs upon the earth beneath, —blood and fire and vapour of smoke:
20 Anyanwụ ga-agbanwe ghọọ ọchịchịrị, ọnwa ga-aghọkwa ọbara, tupu ụbọchị Onyenwe anyị abịa, bụ ụbọchị ahụ dị ukwu dịkwa ebube.
The sun, shall be turned into darkness and, the moon, into blood, —before the coming of the day of the Lord, the great and manifest [day];
21 Ọ ga-erukwa, na onye ọbụla nke na-akpọku aha Onyenwe anyị, ka a ga-azọpụta.’
And it shall be—Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.
22 “Ndị Izrel, geenụ ntị nʼokwu a, Jisọs onye Nazaret bụ nwoke Chineke gosiri unu, site nʼọrụ dị ike, nʼọrụ ebube nakwa ihe ịrịbama niile nke Chineke rụrụ nʼetiti unu site nʼaka ya, dịka unu ji anya unu hụ.
Ye men of Israel! hear these words: —Jesus the Nazarene, a man pointed out of God unto you by mighty works and wonders and signs, which God did through him in your midst, just as ye yourselves know,
23 Onye a ka e weere nyefee unu nʼaka site na nzube nke Chineke buru ụzọ tụọ atụmatụ ya, na dịka o siri mara na mbụ, ọ bụ ya ka unu gburu ma kpọgidekwa nʼobe site nʼaka ndị na-amaghị iwu.
The same, by the marked out counsel and foreknowledge of God given up, through the hands of lawless men, suspending, ye slew,
24 Ma Chineke emela ka o site nʼọnwụ bilie mgbe ọ tọpụchara ihe mgbu nke ọnwụ, nʼihi na ọnwụ enweghị ike ijide ya.
Whom, God, raised up, loosing the pangs of death, inasmuch as it was, not possible, for him to continue held fast by it.
25 Devid kwuru banyere ya, “‘Ana m ahụ Onyenwe anyị ka ọ na-anọgide nʼihu m mgbe niile. Nʼihi na ọ nọ nʼaka nri m. Agaghị m ama jijiji.
For, David, saith concerning him—I foresaw the Lord before me continually, because he is, on my right hand, that I may not be shaken;
26 Ya mere, ọṅụ jupụtara m obi, ire m na-aṅụrịkwa ọṅụ; anụ ahụ m ga-ezukwa ike nʼolileanya,
For this reason, was my heart made glad and my tongue exulted, —ye further, even my flesh, shall encamp on hope:
27 nʼihi na ị gaghị ahapụ mkpụrụobi m nʼala mmụọ, ị gakwaghị ahapụ anụ ahụ nke Onye gị dị nsọ ka ọ hụ ire ure. (Hadēs g86)
Because thou wilt not abandon my soul unto hades, neither wilt thou give thy man of lovingkindness to see corruption; (Hadēs g86)
28 I mere ka m mara ụzọ nke ndụ; ị ga-emekwa ka m jupụta nʼọṅụ nʼihu gị.’
Thou madest known unto me paths of life, thou wilt make me full of gladness with thy countenance.
29 “Ụmụnna m, eji m nkwuwa okwu na-agwa unu banyere nna nna anyị Devid, bụ onye nwụrụ anwụ e lie ya. Ili ya dịkwa nʼetiti anyị taa.
Brethren! it is, allowable, to say with freedom of speech unto you, concerning the patriarch David, —that he both died and was buried, and, his tomb, is among us until this day.
Being then, a prophet, and knowing that, with an oath, God had sworn unto him, of the fruit of his loins, to seat on his throne,
31 Ebe o buuru ụzọ hụ ihe ga-eme nʼoge dị nʼihu, o kwuru banyere mbilite nʼọnwụ nke Kraịst, mgbe ọ sịrị, a hapụghị ya nʼala mmụọ; anụ ahụ ya ahụghịkwa ire ure. (Hadēs g86)
With foresight, spake he concerning the resurrection of the Christ—that neither was he abandoned unto hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
32 Ọ bụ Jisọs a ka Chineke mere ka ọ dị ndụ ọzọ. Anyị niile bụkwa ndị akaebe banyere ya.
The same Jesus, hath God raised up, whereof, all we, are witnesses!
By the right hand of God, therefore, having been exalted, also, the promise of the Holy Spirit, having received from the Father, He hath poured out this which, yourselves, do see and hear.
34 Ọ dịghị oge Devid jiri rigoro nʼeluigwe, ma ya onwe ya sịrị, “‘Onyenwe anyị gwara Onyenwe m sị, “Nọdụ ala nʼaka nri m,
For, David, hath not ascended into the heavens; but he saith, himself, —Said the Lord unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand,
35 ruo mgbe m ga-eme ndị iro gị ihe mgbakwasị ụkwụ nye ụkwụ gị.”’
Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
36 “Ya mere, ana m eme ka ezinaụlọ Izrel niile mara nke ọma, na Chineke emeela Jisọs a onye unu kpọgidere nʼobe ka ọ bụrụ Onyenwe anyị na Kraịst.”
Assuredly, then, let all the house of Israel know: that, both Lord and Christ, hath God made him, even the same Jesus whom, ye, crucified!
37 Mgbe ha nụrụ ihe ndị a, akọnuche ha mara ha ikpe.
And, when they heard this, they were pricked to the heart, and said unto Peter and the rest of the apostles—What are we to do, brethren?
38 Ma Pita sịrị ha, “Chegharịanụ unu niile. Ka e mekwa unu baptizim nʼaha Jisọs Kraịst, maka mgbaghara mmehie unu. Unu ga-anatakwa onyinye nke Mmụọ Nsọ.
And Peter [said] unto them—Repent ye, and let each one of you be immersed, in the name of Jesus Christ, into the remission of your sins, —and ye shall receive the free-gift of the Holy Spirit;
39 Nkwa a dịrị unu na ụmụ ụmụ unu na mmadụ niile nọ nʼebe dị anya, dịkwara ndị niile Onyenwe anyị Chineke ga-akpọ ka ha bịakwute ya.”
For, unto you, is the promise, and unto your children, —and unto all them who are afar off: as many soever as the Lord our God shall call unto him.
40 O jiri ọtụtụ okwu ndị ọzọ gbaa ama, ma dụọkwa ha ọdụ sị, “Sitenụ nʼetiti ọgbọ a jọrọ njọ zọpụta onwe unu.”
And, with many different words, bare he frail witness, and went on exhorting them saying—Be saved from this perverse generation!
They, therefore, who welcomed his word, were immersed; and there were added, on that day, about three thousand souls.
And they went on to give constant attention—unto the teaching of the apostles, and unto the fellowship, unto the breaking of bread, and unto the prayers.
43 Onye ọbụla nʼime ha jupụtara na egwu, nʼihi na ndị ozi na-arụ ọtụtụ ọrụ ebube, na ihe ịrịbama dị iche iche.
And there came on every soul, fear, and, many wonders and signs, through means of the apostles, were coming to pass.
44 Ndị niile kwere ekwe nọkọtara ọnụ, nwekọkwaa ihe niile ọnụ.
And, all who believed, with one accord, began to hold all things common;
and, their possessions and goods, were they selling and distributing them unto all, in so far as anyone had need.
46 Ha gara nʼihu na-ezukọta nʼụlọnsọ ukwu ikpe ekpere kwa ụbọchị. Ha na-erikọkwa nri nʼụlọ ha, nʼobi ọṅụ na ekele.
And, daily giving attendance with one intent in the temple and, at home, breaking bread, they were partaking of food with exultation and singleness of heart;
47 Dịka ha gara nʼihu na-eto Chineke, ha nwetara ihuọma nʼaka ndị mmadụ. Onyenwe anyị na-atụkwasịkwara ha ndị a na-azọpụta kwa ụbọchị.
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And, the Lord, was adding them who were being saved, daily, together.
