< 2 Samuel 9 >

1 Otu ụbọchị, Devid jụrụ ajụjụ sị, “O nwere onye fọdụrụ ndụ nʼezinaụlọ Sọl? Achọrọ m igosi onye ahụ obi ebere nʼihi Jonatan.”
And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?
2 Ọ nụrụ ihe banyere otu nwoke aha ya bụ Ziba, onye bụ otu nʼime ndị ohu Sọl. O ziri ozi ka a kpọọ ya. Mgbe ọ bịara nʼihu Devid, eze jụrụ ya sị, “Ọ bụ gị bụ Ziba?” Ọ zara sị, “E, onyenwe m, ọ bụ m ohu gị.”
And [there was] of the house of Saul a servant whose name [was] Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, [Art] thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant [is he].
3 Eze jụrụ ya sị, “Ọ dị onye fọdụrụ ndụ nʼezinaụlọ Sọl? Ọ bụrụ na ọ dị onye fọdụrụ, achọrọ m igosi ya ụdị obiọma Chineke na-egosi.” Ziba zara ya sị, “Otu nwa nwoke Jonatan, nke dara ngwụrọ nọ ndụ.”
And the king said, [Is] there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, [which is] lame on [his] feet.
4 Eze jụrụ, “Ebee ka ọ nọ?” Ziba zaghachiri, “Ọ nọ na Lo Deba, nʼụlọ Makia, nwa Amiel.”
And the king said unto him, Where [is] he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he [is] in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.
5 Ya mere eze Devid ziri ka e site nʼobodo Lo Deba, nʼụlọ Makia nwa Amiel kpọta ya.
Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.
6 Mgbe Mefiboshet nwa Jonatan, nwa Sọl, bịara nʼebe Devid nọ, o hulatara isi, kpọọrọ ya isiala, nʼọnọdụ nsọpụrụ. Mgbe ahụ, Devid kpọrọ ya aha sị, “Mefiboshet,” Mefiboshet zara sị ya, “A bụ m ohu gị.”
Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!
7 Ma Devid sịrị ya, “Atụla egwu, nʼezie, aga m egosi gị obiọma nʼihi nna gị Jonatan. Aga m enyeghachi gị ala niile nna nna gị Sọl nwere. Ma ị ga-eso soro m na-eri nri na tebul m oge niile.”
And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
8 Mefiboshet dara nʼala nʼihu eze sị, “Eze, onye ka m bụ i ji egosi nkịta nwụrụ anwụ dịka m obi ebere?”
And he bowed himself, and said, What [is] thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I [am]?
9 Eze kpọrọ Ziba ohu Sọl ahụ sị ya, “Enyeghachila m nwa nwa nna gị ukwu ihe niile Sọl na ụlọ ya nwere.
Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master’s son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.
Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in [the fruits], that thy master’s son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
11 Ọ sịrị eze, “Onyenwe m, ohu gị ga-eme ihe niile eze nyere m nʼiwu.” Site nʼoge ahụ, Mefiboshet riri nri na tebul Devid dịka ọ bụ otu nʼime ụmụ ndị ikom eze.
Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, [said the king], he shall eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons.
12 Mefiboshet nwekwara otu nwa nwoke aha ya bụ Mika. Ziba na ndị niile bi nʼụlọ ya niile ghọrọ ndị ohu Mefiboshet.
And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name [was] Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba [were] servants unto Mephibosheth.
13 Ma Mefiboshet biri na Jerusalem nʼihi na ọ bụ na tebul eze ka ọ na-eri nri mgbe niile. Ọ bụ onye dara ngwụrọ nʼụkwụ ya abụọ.
So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king’s table; and was lame on both his feet.
