< 2 Samuel 7 >
1 O ruo mgbe eze nọsara ahụ nʼụlọeze ya, mgbe Onyenwe anyị mekwara ka o site nʼaka ndị iro ya nọ gburugburu zuru ike,
By now the king was comfortable in his palace and the Lord had given him peace from all the enemy nations around him.
2 ọ sịrị Netan, bụ onye amụma, “Lee, mụ onwe m na-ebi nʼụlọ sida, ma igbe ọgbụgba ndụ Chineke dị nʼime ụlọ ikwu.”
So he said to Nathan the prophet, “Look at me—I live in a palace made of cedar, but the Ark of God is still in a tent.”
3 Netan zaghachiri eze sị, “Ihe ọbụla dị gị nʼobi gaa nʼihu mee ya, nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị nọnyeere gị.”
“Go ahead, do whatever you want, for the Lord is with you,” Nathan told the king.
4 Ma nʼabalị ahụ, okwu Onyenwe anyị rutere Netan ntị, na-asị,
But that night the Lord spoke to Nathan and told him,
5 “Gaa gwa ohu m Devid sị ya, ‘Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru, Ọ bụ gị ga-ewuru m ụlọ ebe m ga-ebi?
“Go and tell my servant David, This is what the Lord says: Should you be the one to build a house for me to live in?
6 Nʼihi na ebibeghị m nʼụlọ site nʼụbọchị m si nʼIjipt kpọpụta ndị Izrel ruo taa. Kama ana m ejegharị site otu ebe gaa ebe ọzọ, were ụlọ ikwu mere ebe obibi m.
For I have never lived in a house, from the time I led the Israelites out of Egypt up till now. I have always moved from place to place, living in a tent and a Tabernacle.
7 Nʼebe ọbụla m na-ejegharị nʼetiti ndị Izrel niile, ọ dị mgbe m sịrị onye ọbụla nʼime ndị ọchịchị ha, ndị m nyere iwu ka ha zụọ ndị m Izrel, sị, “Gịnị mere unu ewubereghị m ụlọ sida?”’
But in all those travels with all of Israel did I ever ask any Israelite leader I'd ordered to take care of my people, ‘Why haven't you built a cedar house for me?’
8 “Ma ugbu a, gwa Devid bụ ohu m, sị, ‘Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile kwuru: Mụ onwe m sitere nʼọhịa ebe ịta nri nke ụmụ anụ ụlọ, sikwa nʼebe ị na-azụ igwe ewu na atụrụ kpọpụta gị. Mee gị onye na-achị ndị m Izrel.
So then, tell my servant David this is what the Lord Almighty says. It was me who took you from the fields, from looking after sheep, to become a leader of my people Israel.
9 Anọnyekwara m gị nʼebe ọbụla ị gara, kpochapụ ndị iro gị niile site nʼihu gị. Ugbu a, aga m eme ka aha gị dị ukwuu, dịka aha ndị ikom dịkarịsịrị ukwuu nʼụwa.
I have been with you wherever you've gone. I have destroyed all your enemies right in front of you, and I will make your reputation as great as the most famous people on earth.
10 Aga m ahọpụta otu ebe nʼihi ndị m Izrel, kụkwa ha dịka osisi ka ha biri nʼebe obibi nke aka ha; ka ha ghara ị bụkwa ndị a na-esogbu ọzọ. Ndị ajọ mmadụ agaghị emegbukwa ha dịka ha mere na mbụ,
I will choose a place for my people Israel. I will settle them there and they won't be disturbed anymore. Evil people won't persecute them as they used to,
from the time I placed judges in charge of my people. I will defeat all of your enemies. Also I want to make it clear that I the Lord will build a house for you.
12 Mgbe ụbọchị gị nʼụwa zuru, mgbe i ga-esoro nna nna gị ha dinaa nʼọnwụ, aga m eme ka otu mkpụrụ gị bilie nọchie ọnọdụ gị, onye bụ anụ ahụ na ọbara gị, aga m emekwa ka alaeze ya guzosie ike.
For when you come to the end of your life and join your ancestors in death, I will bring to power one of your descendants, one of your sons, and make sure his kingdom is successful.
13 Ọ bụ ya ga-ewuru m ụlọ. Aga m eme ka ocheeze nke alaeze ya guzosie ike ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.
He will be the one to build me a house, and I will make sure his kingdom lasts forever.
I will be a father to him, and he will be a son to me. If he does wrong, I will discipline him with the rod like people do, like a parent punishing a child.
15 Ma agaghị ewezuga ịhụnanya m site nʼebe ọ nọ, dịka m si wezuga ya site nʼebe Sọl nọ, bụ onye m wezugara site nʼihu gị.
But I will never take away my kindness and love from him, as I did in the case of Saul who I removed before you.
16 Ụlọ gị na alaeze gị ga-adịgide ruo mgbe ebighị ebi nʼihu m. A ga-eme ka ocheeze gị bụrụ ihe guzosiri ike ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.’”
Your house and your kingdom will last forever; your dynasty will be secure forever.”
17 Netan ziri Devid ozi dịka okwu niile nke ọhụ ahụ si dị.
This is what Nathan explained to David—everything he was told in this divine revelation.
18 Mgbe ahụ, eze Devid banyere nọdụ ala nʼihu Onyenwe anyị, sị: “Onye ka m bụ, Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị, gịnịkwa ka ezinaụlọ m bụ, na ị mere ka m bịaruo nʼogogo ha otu a?
Then King David went and sat down in the presence of the Lord. He prayed, “Who am I, Lord God, and what is significant about my family, that you have brought me to this place?
19 Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị, dịka a ga-asị na nke a bụ ihe dị nta nʼanya gị. Ugbu a, i kwuola banyere ọdịnihu nke ụlọ ohu gị, Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị, nke a bụkwa ụkpụrụ metụtara mmadụ efu.
God, you talk as if this was a small thing in your eyes, and you also have spoken about the future of my house, my family dynasty. Is this your usual way of dealing with human beings, Lord God?
20 “Ma gịnị ọzọ ka Devid ga-agwa gị? O, Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị. Nʼihi na ị maara ohu gị nke ọma.
What more can I, David, tell you? You know exactly what your servant is like, Lord God.
21 Nʼihi okwu gị na dịka ọchịchọ obi gị si dị, i meela ihe a dị ukwuu, meekwa ka ohu gị mata ha.
You're doing all this for me and you have explained it to me, your servant, and because of your promise and because it's what you want to do.
22 “Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị, lee ka i si dị ukwuu! Ọ dịghị onye dịka gị. Ọ dịkwaghị Chineke ọzọ dị ma ọ bụghị gị, dịka anyị nụrụ ya na ntị anyị.
How great you are, Lord God! There really is no-one like you; there is no other God, only you. We have never heard about anyone else.
23 Olee ndị dịka ndị gị, bụ Izrel, bụ otu mba nʼelu ụwa nke Chineke gara ịgbapụta dịka otu ndị nye onwe ya, na iji mere onwe ya aha, rụọkwa ọrụ ịtụnanya dị egwu dịkwa ukwuu nʼihi ha, site nʼịchụpụ mba dị iche iche na chi niile ha site nʼihu ndị gị, bụ ndị ị gbapụtara site nʼIjipt?
Who else is as fortunate as your people Israel? Who else on earth did God go and redeem to make his own people? You gained a wonderful reputation for yourself by all the tremendous, amazing things you did in driving out other nations and their gods before your people as you redeemed them from Egypt.
24 I meela ka ndị gị Izrel guzosie ike, dịka ndị nke gị ruo mgbe ebighị ebi. Ma gị onwe gị kwa, Onyenwe anyị, abụrụla Chineke ha.
You made your people Israel your own forever, and you, Lord, have become their God.
25 “Ugbu a, Onyenwe anyị Chineke, debe nkwa a nke i kwere banyere ohu gị na ụlọ ya ka ọ dịrị ruo mgbe ebighị ebi. Mezukwaa ihe niile dịka nkwa gị si dị
So now, Lord God, please ensure that what you have said about me and my house happens, and is confirmed forever. Please do as you have promised,

and may your true nature be honored forever, with people declaring, ‘The Lord Almighty is Israel's God!’ May the house of your servant David continue to be there in your presence.
27 “O Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, Chineke Izrel, nʼihi na ị kpugheerela ohu gị ihe a, na-asị, ‘Aga m ewuru gị ụlọ.’ Ya mere, ohu gị ji nwee obi ike ikpere gị ekpere a.
Lord Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to me, your servant, telling me, ‘I will build a house for you.’ That's why your servant has had the courage to pray this prayer to you.
28 O, Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị, ị bụ Chineke nʼezie. Okwu gị kwesiri ntụkwasị obi. I kweekwala ohu gị nkwa ihe ọma ndị a.
Lord Almighty, you are God! Your words are truth, and you are the one who has promised these good things to your servant.
29 Ugbu a biko, ka ọ masị gị ịgọzi ụlọ ohu gị, ka ọ dịgide nʼihu gị ruo mgbe ebighị ebi. Nʼihi na gị, o Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị ekwuola ya, sitekwa na ngọzị gị, ụlọ ohu gị ga-abụkwa ihe a gọziri agọzi ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.”
So now, please bless your servant's house that it may continue in your presence forever. For you have spoken, Lord God, and with your blessing the house of your servant will be blessed forever.”
