1 Jehoram nwa Ehab, malitere ịbụ eze ndị Izrel na Sameria nʼafọ nke iri na asatọ nke ọchịchị Jehoshafat na Juda. Afọ iri na abụọ ka ọ chịrị dịka eze.
And Jehoram son of Ahab has reigned over Israel, in Samaria, in the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigns twelve years,
2 O mere ihe ọjọọ nʼanya Onyenwe anyị, ma ọ bụghị dịka nna ya na nne ya mere. O wezugara nkume ahụ e doro nsọ nye Baal nke nna ya kpụrụ.
and does evil in the eyes of YHWH, only not like his father, and like his mother, and he turns aside the standing-pillar of Ba‘al that his father made;
3 Otu ọ dị, ọ nọgidere na mmehie Jeroboam nwa Nebat, onye mere ka Izrel baa nʼime mmehie ife arụsị. Joram esiteghị na ha wezuga onwe ya.
surely he has cleaved to the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat that he caused Israel to sin; he has not turned aside from it.
4 Eze ndị Moab, bụ Misha, na ndị ya, bụ ndị na-azụ atụrụ. Nʼafọ niile, ọ na-atụrụ eze Izrel otu narị puku ajị ebule, na otu narị puku atụrụ.
And Mesha king of Moab was a sheep-master, and he rendered to the king of Israel one hundred thousand lambs and one hundred thousand rams, [with] wool,
5 Ma mgbe Ehab eze Izrel nwụrụ, eze Moab nupuru isi megide eze Izrel, jụkwa ịnọ nʼokpuru ya ọzọ.
and it comes to pass at the death of Ahab, that the king of Moab transgresses against the king of Israel.
6 Ya mere, eze Joram sitere na Sameria pụọ ga kpọkọta ndị Izrel niile.
And King Jehoram goes out from Samaria in that day, and inspects all Israel,
7 O zigara Jehoshafat eze Juda ozi sị ya, “Eze Moab enupula isi megide m. Ị ga-abịa soro m ịga buso ndị Moab agha?” Ọ zaghachiri, “Aga m eso gị gaa. Mụ na gị bụ otu, ndị m bụ ndị gị, ịnyịnya m bụkwa ịnyịnya gị.”
and goes and sends to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, saying, “The king of Moab has transgressed against me; do you go with me to Moab for battle?” And he says, “I go up, as I, so you; as my people, so your people; as my horses, so your horses.”
8 “Ma olee ụzọ anyị ga-esi gaa ibu agha ahụ?” Joram zara, “Anyị ga-esi ụzọ ọzara Edọm.”
And he says, “Where [is] this—the way we go up?” And he says, “The way of the wilderness of Edom.”
9 Ya mere, eze Izrel na eze Juda, na eze Edọm, na ndị agha ha niile, zukọtara site ụzọ ọzara Edọm ịga ibuso Moab agha. Ha gara ije abalị asaa nʼọzara. Ma mmiri ọṅụṅụ ha nwere gwụsịrị. Ọ dịkwaghị mmiri dịrị anụ ụlọ ha, na ndị agha ha.
And the king of Israel goes, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom, and they turn around the way seven days, and there has been no water for the camp, and for the livestock that [are] at their feet,
10 Mgbe ahụ, eze Izrel tiri mkpu sị, “Gịnị ka anyị ga-eme? Ọ ga-abụ na Onyenwe anyị kpọpụtara anyị bụ eze atọ ndị a, nʼebe a, inyefe anyị nʼaka ndị Moab, ka ha merie anyị?”
and the king of Israel says, “Aah! For YHWH has called for these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab.”
11 Ma Jehoshafat, eze Juda, jụrụ ajụjụ sị, “Ọ bụ na o nweghị onye amụma Onyenwe anyị nọ nʼebe a, onye anyị ga-esi nʼaka ya jụta Onyenwe anyị ase, site na ya?” Otu onyeisi agha ndị Izrel sị ha, “Ịlaisha, nwa Shafat, onye jeere Ịlaịja ozi, nọ nʼebe a.”
And Jehoshaphat says, “Is there not a prophet of YHWH here, and we seek YHWH by him?” And one of the servants of the king of Israel answers and says, “Here [is] Elisha son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”
12 Jehoshafat zara sị, “Okwu Onyenwe anyị dị nʼọnụ ya.” Ya mere, eze Izrel na Jehoshafat, na eze Edọm, gakwuru ya.
And Jehoshaphat says, “The word of YHWH is with him”; and the king of Israel goes down to him, and Jehoshaphat, and the king of Edom.
13 Ịlaisha zara eze Izrel sị, “Gịnị ka mụ na gị nwekọrọ? Jekwuru ndị amụma nne gị na nna gị, jụta ha ase.” Eze Izrel zara sị ya, “Mba, nʼihi na ọ bụ Onyenwe anyị kpọpụtara anyị bụ eze atọ nʼebe a, ka o were anyị nyefee nʼaka ndị Moab.”
And Elisha says to the king of Israel, “And what do I [have to do] with you? Go to the prophets of your father, and to the prophets of your mother”; and the king of Israel says to him, “No, for YHWH has called for these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab.”
14 Ịlaisha sịrị, “Ebe Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile na-adị ndụ, bụ onye m na-efe, a si na ọ bụghị nsọpụrụ m nwere nʼebe Jehoshafat eze Juda nọ, agaraghị m atụpụrụ gị ọnụ maọbụ lee gị anya nʼihu.
And Elisha says, “YHWH of Hosts lives, before whom I have stood; for unless I am lifting up the face of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I do not look to you, nor see you;
15 Ma ugbu a, kpọtaranụ m onye na-akpọ ụbọ.” Mgbe ọkpọ ụbọ ahụ malitere ịkpọ ụbọ ya, aka Onyenwe anyị bịakwasịrị Ịlaisha.
and now, bring a musician to me”; and it has been, at the playing of the musician, that the hand of YHWH is on him,
16 Ọ sịrị, “Ihe a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru, aga m eme ka ndagwurugwu a jupụta nʼolulu mmiri.
and he says, “Thus said YHWH: Make this valley ditches—ditches;
17 Nʼihi na otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru, Unu agaghị ahụ ifufe maọbụ mmiri ozuzo, ma ndagwurugwu a ga-ejupụta na mmiri, unu onwe unu ga-aṅụ, na ehi unu, na anụmanụ ndị ọzọ unu ga-aṅụkwa mmiri.
for thus said YHWH: You do not see wind, nor do you see rain, and that valley is full of water, and you have drunk—you, and your livestock, and your beasts.
18 Ma nke a bụ ihe dị nta nʼebe Onyenwe anyị nọ, nʼihi na ọ ga-enyefekwa ndị Moab nʼaka unu.
And this has been light in the eyes of YHWH, and he has given Moab into your hand,
19 Unu ga-etigbu obodo ọbụla e wusiri ike, na obodo ukwu niile. Unu ga-egbudakwa ezi osisi ha na-amị mkpụrụ, kpọchie isi mmiri ha niile, werekwa nkume mebikwaa ezi ala ubi ha niile.”
and you have struck every fortified city, and every choice city, and you cause every good tree to fall, and you stop all fountains of waters, and you mar every good portion with stones.”
20 O ruo, nʼụtụtụ, nʼoge e ji achụ aja nsure ọkụ ụtụtụ, lee na mmiri sitere ụzọ Edọm sọọrọ bịa nʼebe ahụ ha gwuru olulu na ndagwurugwu ala ahụ sọjuo ala ahụ niile.
And it comes to pass in the morning, at the ascending of the [morning] present, that behold, waters are coming in from the way of Edom, and the land is filled with the waters,
21 Mgbe ndị Moab nụrụ na ndị eze ahụ na-abịa imegide ha, ha kpọkọtara ndị ikom ọbụla nwere ike ịlụ agha, ma okenye ma okorobịa, pụta bịa guzo nʼoke ala ha.
and all of Moab has heard that the kings have come up to fight against them, and they are called together, from everyone girding on a girdle and upward, and they stand by the border.
22 Mgbe chi bọrọ nʼisi ụtụtụ, anyanwụ wara mụkwasị mmiri ahụ. Site nʼebe ha nọ, ndị Moab lepụrụ anya hụ mmiri ahụ ka ọ na-acha ọbara ọbara.
And they rise early in the morning, and the sun has shone on the waters, and the Moabites see, from opposite [them], [that] the waters [are] red as blood,

and say, “This [is] blood; the kings have been surely destroyed, and they each strike his neighbor; and now for spoil, Moab!”
24 Mgbe ha gbaara ọsọ bịaruo nʼụlọ agha ndị Izrel, ndị agha Izrel biliri malite itigbu ha. Ya mere, ndị agha Moab sitere nʼihu ha gbalaga. Ma ndị agha Izrel banyere nʼime obodo ndị Moab, gbuo ihe niile ha hụrụ nʼụzọ.
And they come to the camp of Israel, and Israel rises, and strikes the Moabites, and they flee from their face; and they enter into Moab, so as to strike Moab,
25 Ha tidara obodo ndị Moab niile, tinye nkume nʼala ubi ọma ndị Moab niile. Ha kpọchiri isi mmiri niile, gbudasịakwa ezi osisi niile na-amị mkpụrụ nʼala ahụ. and they break down the cities, and they each cast his stone [on] every good portion, and have filled it, and they stop every fountain of water, and they cause every good tree to fall—until one had left its stones in Kir-Haraseth, and the slingers go around and strike it.
26 Mgbe eze Moab hụrụ na agha ahụ anaghị agaziri ya nke ọma, ọ chịịrị narị ndị agha asaa, ndị ji mma agha ebu agha, gbalịa isi nʼetiti ndị agha Izrel tikapụta, na ncherita ihu ebe eze Edọm nọ, ma ha enweghị ike.
And the king of Moab sees that the battle has been too strong for him, and he takes with him seven hundred men drawing sword, to cleave through to the king of Edom, and they have not been able,
27 Ya mere, o weere ọkpara ya, onye gaara abụ eze nʼọnọdụ ya, gbuo ya, dịka aja nʼelu mgbidi gbara obodo ahụ gburugburu nye chi Moab. Iwe dị ukwuu dị nʼụbọchị ahụ megide Izrel. Ha kwụsịrị ibu agha, laghachi nʼobodo nke aka ha.
and he takes his son, the firstborn who reigns in his stead, and causes him to ascend [as] a burnt-offering on the wall, and there is great wrath against Israel, and they journey from off him, and return to the land.
