1 Nʼoge Jehoiakim na-achị, Nebukadneza eze Babilọn ji ike bata nʼala ya, mee ka Jehoiakim ghọọ ohu ya afọ atọ. Ma o mesịrị tụgharịa megide Nebukadneza, nupukwa isi nʼokpuru ya.
In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him.
2 Onyenwe anyị zigara ndị na-apụnara mmadụ ihe site na Kaldịa, Aram, Moab na ndị Amọn, ka ha ga bibie Juda. Ọ bụ nʼusoro okwu Onyenwe anyị kpọsara site nʼọnụ ndị amụma ya.
The LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, bands of the Syrians, bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the LORD’s word which he spoke by his servants the prophets.
3 Nʼezie, ihe ndị a bịakwasịrị Juda dịka Onyenwe anyị si nye ya nʼiwu, ka o si otu a kpochapụ ha site nʼihu ya nʼihi mmehie niile Manase mere, na dịka ihe niile o mere si dị,
Surely at the commandment of the LORD this came on Judah, to remove them out of his sight for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,

and also for the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the LORD would not pardon.
5 Akụkọ ọzọ niile gbasara ọchịchị Jehoiakim na ihe niile o mere, e deghị ha nʼakwụkwọ akụkọ ihe e mere nʼụbọchị ndụ ndị eze Juda?
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
6 Jehoiakim sooro ndị nna nna ya ha dina nʼọnwụ. Jehoiakin nwa ya ghọrọ eze ọhụrụ nʼọnọdụ ya.
So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.
7 Ma eze Ijipt esiteghị nʼala ya pụta ọzọ, nʼihi na eze Babilọn nọchiri oke ala ya niile, site na mmiri iyi Ijipt ruo nʼoke Osimiri Yufretis.
The king of Egypt didn’t come out of his land any more; for the king of Babylon had taken, from the brook of Egypt to the river Euphrates, all that belonged to the king of Egypt.
8 Jehoiakin gbara afọ iri na asatọ mgbe ọ malitere ịbụ eze. Ọ chịrị naanị ọnwa atọ na Jerusalem. Aha nne ya bụ Nehushta, nwa Elnatan, onye Jerusalem.
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. His mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
9 O mere ihe jọrọ njọ nʼanya Onyenwe anyị, dịka nna ya ha mere.
He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, according to all that his father had done.
10 Nʼoge ọ bụ eze, ndịisi Nebukadneza, eze Babilọn bịara, gbaa Jerusalem gburugburu ma nọchibido obodo ahụ nʼagha.
At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
11 Nebukadneza, eze Babilọn nʼonwe ya, bịara nʼobodo ahụ mgbe ndị agha ya gbara ya gburugburu.
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city while his servants were besieging it,
12 Jehoiakin, bụ eze Juda, na nne ya na ndị ọrụ ya niile na ndịisi niile na ndịisi ozi ya niile were onwe ha nyefee Nebukadneza nʼaka. Nʼafọ asatọ nke ọchịchị eze Babilọn ka ọ kpụụrụ Jehoiakin dịka onye mkpọrọ.
and Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon—he, his mother, his servants, his princes, and his officers; and the king of Babylon captured him in the eighth year of his reign.

He carried out from there all the treasures of the LORD’s house and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the LORD’s temple, as the LORD had said.

He carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. No one remained except the poorest people of the land.
15 Nebukadneza kpụụrụ Jehoiakin ka ọ ga biri na Babilọn. O sikwa na Jerusalem kpọrọ nne eze, na ndị nwunye eze, ndị ozi ya, na ndị niile a ma ama nʼala ahụ gaa Babilọn.
He carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, with the king’s mother, the king’s wives, his officers, and the chief men of the land. He carried them into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
16 Eze Babilọn bupụkwara ndị ikom niile dị ike ma tozukwaa ibu agha, ndị ọnụọgụgụ ha dị puku asaa, tinyere otu puku ndị ọrụ aka, na ndị ọrụ ǹka, bulaa ha Babilọn.
All the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths one thousand, all of them strong and fit for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.
17 O mere nwanne nna Jehoiakin, bụ Matanaya, eze nʼọnọdụ ya. Ọ gụgharịrị ya aha, kpọọ ya Zedekaya.
The king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s father’s brother, king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
18 Iri afọ abụọ na otu ka Zedekaya gbara mgbe ọ malitere ịbụ eze nʼime Jerusalem. Aha nne ya bụ Hamutal, nwa Jeremaya onye Libna. Ọ chịrị dịka eze na Jerusalem afọ iri na otu.
Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
19 Ma o mere ihe jọrọ njọ nʼanya Onyenwe anyị dịka Jehoiakim mere.
He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
20 Ọ bụ nʼihi iwe Onyenwe anyị ka ihe ndị a niile ji bịakwasị Jerusalem na Juda. Nʼikpeazụ, o sitere nʼihu ya chụpụ ha. Nʼoge a, Zedekaya nupuru isi nʼokpuru eze Babilọn.
For through the anger of the LORD, this happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Then Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
