< 2 Ndị Eze 22 >

1 Afọ asatọ ka Josaya gbara mgbe ọ malitere ịbụ eze Juda. Iri afọ atọ na otu ka ọ chịrị na Jerusalem. Aha nne ya bụ Jedida, nwa Adaya onye Bozkat.
Josiah [was] eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name [was] Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.
2 O mere ihe ziri ezi nʼanya Onyenwe anyị, gbasookwa ụzọ niile nke nna nna ya Devid kpamkpam, o sighị nʼụzọ a wezuga onwe ya gaa nʼaka nri maọbụ nʼaka ekpe.
And he did [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
3 Nʼafọ nke iri na asatọ nke ọchịchị ya, eze Josaya, zigara ode akwụkwọ bụ Shefan nwa Azalaya, onye bụkwa nwa nwa Meshulam, ka ọ gaa nʼụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị. Ọ sịrị ya,
And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, [that] the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the LORD, saying,
4 “Gakwuru Hilkaya onyeisi nchụaja, sị ya, gụkọta ego nke e webatara nʼụlọnsọ ukwu Onyenwe anyị, bụ nke ndị na-eche ọnụ ụzọ nakọtara site nʼaka ndị mmadụ.
Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the silver which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of the door have gathered of the people:
5 Gwa ha ka ha nyefee ya nʼaka ndị ikom ahọpụtara maka ilekọta ọrụ nʼụlọnsọ ahụ. Ka ndị ikom a kwụọ ndị ọrụ na-arụzi ụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị ụgwọ ọrụ,
And let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD: and let them give it to the doers of the work which [is] in the house of the LORD, to repair the breaches of the house,
6 ya bụ, inye ya ndị ọkpọ ǹtu, ndị na-ewu ụlọ, na ndị na-edo nkume ụlọ. Ha jirikwa ego ahụ zụta osisi na nkume a wara awa, maka i ji dozie ụlọnsọ ahụ.
Unto carpenters, and builders, and masons, and to buy timber and hewn stone to repair the house.
7 Ọ dịghị mkpa ka ha gụzie otu ha si mefuo ego nke e nyefere ha nʼaka, nʼihi na ọrụ ha egosila na ha kwesiri ntụkwasị obi.”
Howbeit there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand, because they dealt faithfully.
8 Hilkaya onyeisi nchụaja, sịrị Shefan ode akwụkwọ, “Achọtala m Akwụkwọ Iwu nʼime ụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị.” O nyere ya Shefan, onye nke gụkwara ya.
And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
9 Mgbe ahụ, Shefan, bụ ode akwụkwọ, bịakwutere eze, gwa ya sị, “Ndị ozi gị enyefela ego niile nke dị nʼụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị nʼaka ndị ọrụ na nʼaka ndị nlekọta nọ nʼụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị.”
And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD.
10 Mgbe ahụ, Shefan bụ ode akwụkwọ, gwara eze sị, “O nwere akwụkwọ Hilkaya, onye nchụaja nyere m.” Shefan gụpụtara ihe dị nʼakwụkwọ a nʼihu eze.
And Shaphan the scribe shewed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.
11 Mgbe eze nụrụ okwu niile dị nʼime Akwụkwọ Iwu ahụ, ọ dọwara uwe ya.
And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.
12 O nyere Hilkaya bụ onyeisi nchụaja, Ahikam nwa Shefan, Akboa nwa Mikaya, Shefan ode akwụkwọ na Asaya, bụ onye ọrụ eze, iwu, sị ha,
And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asahiah a servant of the king’s, saying,
13 “Gaanụ jụta Onyenwe anyị ase, nʼisi m na nʼisi ndị m, na Juda niile, banyere ihe niile e dere nʼakwụkwọ a nke a chọtara. Nʼihi na ọnụma Onyenwe anyị dị ukwuu bụ nke na-ere ọkụ megide anyị, nʼihi na ndị bu anyị ụzọ erubeghị isi nʼokwu nke akwụkwọ iwu a, ha agbasoghị ihe niile e dere nʼime ya banyere anyị.”
Go ye, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great [is] the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.
14 Hilkaya onye nchụaja, Ahikam, Akboa, Shefan na Asaya, jekwuuru Hulda, bụ onye amụma nwanyị. Onye bụ nwunye Shalum, nwa Tikva, nwa Hahas, ọ bụ onye na-elekọta uwe. Hulda na-ebi na mpaghara Jerusalem e wuru ọhụrụ.
So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college; ) and they communed with her.
15 Ọ sịrị ha, “Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke nke Izrel kwuru: Gwanụ nwoke ahụ ziri unu ka unu bịakwutem, sị,
And she said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Tell the man that sent you to me,
16 ‘Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu: Ana m aga iweta mbibi ga-adakwasị ebe a na ndị niile bi nʼime ya, dịka ihe niile e dere nʼime akwụkwọ nke eze Juda gụrụ, si dị.
Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, [even] all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read:
17 Nʼihi na ha ajụla m, gbakụta m azụ, chụọ aja nsure ọkụ na-esi isi ụtọ nye chi ndị ọzọ, kpasuo m iwe site na arụsị niile nke aka ha mepụtara. Iwe m ga-adị ọkụ megide ebe a, ọ gaghị akwụsịkwa.’
Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched.
18 Gwanụ eze Juda, onye ahụ zitere unu ịjụta ase site nʼọnụ Onyenwe anyị sị ya, ‘Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Chineke Izrel na-ekwu banyere okwu ndị ahụ ị nụrụ.
But to the king of Judah which sent you to enquire of the LORD, thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, [As touching] the words which thou hast heard;
19 Nʼihi na o wutere gị nʼobi, na i wedakwara onwe gị nʼala nʼihu Chineke, mgbe ị nụrụ ihe m kwuru megide ebe a na ndị bi nʼime ya, na ha ga-abụ ihe a bụrụ ọnụ, na ihe tọgbọrọ nʼefu, nʼihi na i dọwara uwe gị, bekwaa akwa nʼihu m, mụ onwe m anụkwala, otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara.
Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the LORD, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard [thee], saith the LORD.
20 Ya mere, aga m achịkọta gị nye nna nna gị ha, a ga-eli gị nʼudo. Anya gị agaghị ahụ mbibi nke m ga-eme ka ọ bịakwasị ebe a.’” Ha laghachiri inye eze ọsịsa ya.
Behold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.
