< 2 Ihe E Mere 32 >

1 Mgbe Hezekaya ji ikwesi ntụkwasị obi rụchaa ọrụ ndị a niile, Senakerib bụ eze Asịrịa, bịara nʼime Juda megide ya.
And after these things and this faithful dealing, came Sennacherim king of the Assyrians, and he came to Juda, and encamped against the fortified cities, and intended to take them for himself.
2 Mgbe o doro eze anya na Senakerib bịara ka o buo agha megide Jerusalem,
And Ezekias saw that Sennacherim was come, and [that] his face [was set] to fight against Jerusalem.
And he took counsel with his elders and his mighty [men] to stop the wells of water which were without the city: and they helped him.
And he collected many people, and stopped the wells of water, and the river that flowed through the city, saying, Lest the king of Assyria come, and find much water, and strengthen [himself].
5 Hezekaya wuzikwara mgbidi obodo ahụ, wusie ha ike nʼebe niile ọ na-ada ada. O wukwara mgbidi ọzọ gburugburu mgbidi nke ochie ahụ. O wusikwara ebe siri ike nke Milo dị nʼobodo Devid ike, kpụọkwa ọtụtụ ngwa agha na ọta.
And Ezekias strengthened [himself], and built all the wall that had been pulled down, and the towers, and another wall in front without, and fortified the strong place of the city of David, and prepared arms in abundance.
6 O tinyere ndị agha niile nọ nʼobodo ahụ nʼokpuru ndịisi agha na-achị ha, mee ka ha niile zukọta nʼọnụ ụzọ ama nke obodo. Nʼebe ahụ ka ọ nọ gwa ha okwu sị ha,
And he appointed captains of war over the people, and they were gathered to [meet] him to the open place of the gate of the valley, and he encouraged them, saying,
Be strong and courageous, and fear not, neither be dismayed before the King of Assyria, and before all the nation that [is] with him: for [there are] more with us than with him.
8 Ihe nọnyere ya bụ ogwe aka nke anụ ahụ, ma nke nọnyere anyị bụ Onyenwe anyị, Chineke anyị, inyere anyị aka na ibu agha anyị niile.” Okwu a, nke Hezekaya bụ eze Juda kwuru, mere ka ndị Juda nwee agbamume.
With him [are] arms of flesh; but with us [is] the Lord our God to save [us], and to fight our battle. And the people were encouraged at the words of Ezekias king of Juda.
9 Mgbe e mesiri, mgbe Senakerib eze Asịrịa na ndị agha ya niile nọchibidoro Lakish, o zipụrụ ndị ọrụ ya gaa Jerusalem, ka ha jiri ozi a gaa maka Hezekaya, bụ eze Juda na ndị Juda niile ndị nọ nʼebe ahụ:
And afterward Sennacherim king of the Assyrians sent his servants to Jerusalem; and [he went] himself against Lachis, and all his army with him, and sent to Ezekias king of Juda, and to all Juda that [was] in Jerusalem, saying,
10 “Nke a bụ ihe Senakerib, bụ eze Asịrịa sịrị: Ọ bụ na gịnị ka ntụkwasị obi gị dabere, mere i ji nọgidesie ike na Jerusalem nʼọnọdụ nnọchibido a?
Thus says Sennacherim king of the Assyrians, On what do you trust, that you will remain in the siege in Jerusalem?
11 Mgbe Hezekaya na-asị, ‘Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke anyị ga-azọpụta anyị site nʼaka eze Asịrịa,’ ọ bụ aghụghọ ka ọ na-aghọ unu. Ọ na-eduhie unu, na-achọ ka unu nwụọ nʼagụụ nakwa akpịrị ịkpọ nkụ.
Does not Ezekias deceive you, to deliver you to death and famine and thirst, saying, The Lord our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
Is not this Ezekias who has taken down his altars and his high places and has spoken to Juda and the dwellers in Jerusalem, saying, You shall worship before this altar and burn incense upon it?
13 “Unu amaghị ihe mụ na nna m ha bụ ndị bu m ụzọ chịa mere ndị ala ọzọ? Chi niile nke mba ndị ahụ niile ha nwere ike zọpụta ala ha site nʼaka m?
Know you not what I and my fathers have done to all the nations of the countries? Could the gods of the nations of all the earth at all rescue their people out of my hand?
14 Ọ bụ onye nʼetiti chi niile nke mba ndị a niile, bụ ndị nna nna m ha bibiri, napụtarala ndị ya site nʼaka m? Aṅaa ka chi unu ga-esi zọpụta unu site nʼaka m?
Who is there among all the gods of those nations whom my fathers utterly destroyed, [worthy of trust]? Could they deliver their people out of my hand, that your God should deliver you out of my hand?
15 Unu ekwela ka Hezekaya duhie unu, rafuokwa unu otu a. Unu ekwenyekwarala ya, nʼihi na ọ dịghị chi ọbụla maọbụ nke mba ọbụla maọbụ alaeze ọbụla pụrụ ịnapụta ndị ya site nʼaka m maọbụ nʼaka nna m ha. Ka ọ bụrụzie chi unu ga-abụ nke ga-anapụta unu site nʼaka m!”
Now then, let not Ezekias deceive you, and let him not make you thus confident, and believe him not: for no god of any kingdom or nation is at all able to deliver his people out of my hand, or the hand of my fathers: therefore your God shall not deliver you out of my hand.
16 Nʼụzọ dị otu a ka ndị ozi Senakerib ahụ ji leda Onyenwe anyị Chineke, na Hezekaya anya kwuokwa okwu mkparị megide ha.
And his servants continued to speak against the Lord God, and against his servant Ezekias.
17 Emesịa, Senakerib dekwara akwụkwọ mkparị ndị ọzọ, nke ọ nọ nʼime ya kwuluo Onyenwe anyị Chineke Izrel, na-asị, “Dịka chi ndị ala ọzọ niile enweghị ike zọpụta ndị ha site nʼaka m, otu a kwa, Chineke nke Hezekaya apụghịkwa ịzọpụta ndị ya site nʼaka m.”
And he wrote a letter to reproach the Lord God of Israel, and spoke concerning him, saying, As the gods of the nations of the earth have not delivered their people out of my hand, so the God of Ezekias shall by no means deliver his people out of my hand.
18 Mgbe ahụ, ha ji oke olu kpọkuo ndị Jerusalem, bụ ndị nọ na mgbidi ahụ nʼasụsụ Hibru, imenye ha egwu nakwa ime ka ụjọ tụọ ha, ka ha nwee ike were obodo ahụ.
And he cried with a loud voice in the Jews' language to the people of Jerusalem on the wall, [calling them] to assist them, and pull down [the walls], that they might take the city.
19 Ha kwuru okwu ọjọọ dị iche iche banyere Chineke nke Jerusalem, dịka ha si kwuo megide chi niile nke ndị ọzọ dị nʼụwa, bụ ọrụ aka mmadụ.
And he spoke against the God of Jerusalem, even as against the gods of the nations of the earth, the works of the hands of men.
20 Mgbe ahụ, Hezekaya bụ eze, na Aịzaya onye amụma, nwa Emọz, kpọkuru Chineke nke eluigwe nʼekpere.
And king Ezekias and Esaias the prophet the son of Amos prayed concerning these things, and they cried to heaven.
21 Onyenwe anyị zipụrụ otu mmụọ ozi, onye gara tigbuo ndị agha niile bụ dike, ndị ọchịagha na ndịisi niile nọ nʼọmụma ụlọ ikwu nke eze Asịrịa. Ya mere, Senakerib ji oke ihere laghachi nʼala ya. Ma mgbe ọ gara nʼụlọ chi ya, ụfọdụ nʼime ụmụ ya ndị ikom, ndị bụ anụ ahụ na ọbara ya, were mma agha gbuo ya nʼebe ahụ.
And the Lord sent an angel, and he destroyed every mighty man and warrior, and leader and captain in the camp of the king of Assyria: and he returned with shame of face to his own land and came into the house of his god: and [some] of them that came out of his bowels killed him with the sword.
So the Lord delivered Ezekias and the dwellers in Jerusalem out of the hand of Sennacherim King of Assyria, and out of the hand of all [his enemies], and gave them rest round about.
23 Site nʼoge ahụ, Hezekaya ghọrọ eze a maara aha ya na mba niile dị Juda gburugburu. Ọtụtụ mmadụ bidokwara ibutere Onyenwe anyị onyinye dị iche iche na Jerusalem. Hezekaya nʼonwe ya nwetakwara onyinye nke ya.
And many brought gifts to the Lord to Jerusalem, and presents to Ezekias king of Juda; and he was exalted in the eyes of all the nations after these things.
In those days Ezekias was sick even to death, and prayed to the Lord: and he listened to him, and gave him a sign.
But Ezekias did not recompense the Lord according to the return which he made him, but his heart was lifted up: and wrath came upon him, and upon Juda and Jerusalem.
26 Mgbe Hezekaya na ndị Jerusalem wedara onwe ha nʼala, iwe Onyenwe anyị dajụrụ nʼebe ha nọ, ọ takwaghị ha ahụhụ nʼoge niile ahụ Hezekaya dị ndụ.
And Ezekias humbled himself after the exaltation of his heart, he and the dwellers in Jerusalem; and the wrath of the Lord did not come upon them in the days of Ezekias.
27 Ya mere, Hezekaya ghọrọ eze bara ọgaranya, bụrụkwa onye a na-asọpụrụ.
And Ezekias had wealth and very great glory: and he made for himself treasuries of gold, and silver, and precious stones, also for spices, and stores for arms, and for precious vessels;
and cities for the produce of corn, and wine, and oil; and stalls and mangers for every [kind of] cattle, and folds for flocks;
29 O wukwara ọtụtụ obodo nta dị iche iche, nweekwa ọtụtụ igwe anụ ụlọ, na igwe ehi, nʼihi na Chineke mere ka ọ baa ụba.
and cities which he built for himself, and store of sheep and oxen in abundance, for the Lord gave him a very great store.
30 Hezekaya bụkwa onye gbochiri mmiri iyi Gaihọn nʼakụkụ elu elu ya, gwuo olulu ebe mmiri ahụ si sọgharịa na-asọbata nʼakụkụ ọdịda anyanwụ nke obodo Devid. Ihe niile o mere gaara ya nke ọma.
The same Ezekias stopped up the course of the water of Gion above, and brought the water down straight south of the city of David. And Ezekias prospered in all his works.
31 Ma mgbe ndị ozi nke ndị na-achị Babilọn zitere ka ha jụọ ya banyere ihe ebube ahụ nke mere nʼala ahụ, Chineke hapụrụ ya i nwalee ya, ka ọ mara ihe niile dị ya nʼobi.
Notwithstanding, in regard to the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who were sent to him to enquire of him [concerning] the prodigy which came upon the land, the Lord left him, to try him, to know what was in his heart.
32 Ma banyere ihe ndị ọzọ niile mere nʼoge ọchịchị Hezekaya, na ọrụ ebere niile nke ọ rụrụ ka edere nʼakwụkwọ ọhụ onye amụma bụ Aịzaya, nwa Emọz, dịkwa nʼakwụkwọ akụkọ ndị eze Juda na Izrel niile.
And the rest of the acts of Ezekias, and his kindness, behold, they are written in the prophecy of Esaias the son of Amos the prophet, and in the book of the kings of Juda and Israel.
And Ezekias slept with his fathers, and they buried him in a high place among the sepulchres of the sons of David: and all Juda and the dwellers in Jerusalem gave him glory and honor at his death. And Manasses his son reigned in his stead.
