1 Mgbe oge nta gasịrị, eze ndị Moab na nke ndị Amọn, na ndị ọzọkwa, bịara ibuso Jehoshafat na ndị Juda agha.
It happened after this, that the people of Moab, and the people of Ammon, and with them some of the Meunites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
2 Ụfọdụ ndị mmadụ bịara gwa Jehoshafat sị, “Lee, igwe usuu ndị agha na-abịa imegide gị site nʼEdọm, nakwa nʼofe osimiri Nnu (osimiri nwụrụ anwụ). Ha erutela Hazezọn Tama, ebe a na-akpọkwa En-Gedi.”
Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Edom. Look, they are in Hazazon Tamar" (that is, En Gedi).
3 Jehoshafat tụrụ egwu nke ukwuu, kpebiekwa ịchọ inyeaka Onyenwe anyị. Nʼihi nke a, ọ kpọsara obubu ọnụ nye ndị Juda niile.
Jehoshaphat was alarmed, and set himself to seek to the LORD. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
4 Ndị Juda zukọtara ịchọ inyeaka Onyenwe anyị; nʼezie, ha sitere nʼobodo niile nke Juda bịa ịchọ ihu Onyenwe anyị.
Judah gathered themselves together, to seek help from the LORD. They came out of all the cities of Judah to seek the LORD.
5 Mgbe ahụ, Jehoshafat guzoro nʼetiti nzukọ ndị Juda na Jerusalem nʼụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị nʼihu ogige ọhụrụ ahụ,
Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court;
6 sị; “O Onyenwe anyị, Chineke nna nna anyị ha, ọ bụghị gị bụ Chineke onye bi nʼeluigwe? Ọ bụkwa gị na-achị alaeze niile nke mba dị iche iche. Ike na ume dị nʼaka gị, ọ dịkwaghị onye pụrụ iguzogide gị.
and he said, "O LORD, the God of our fathers, aren't you God in heaven? Aren't you ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in your hand, so that no one is able to withstand you.
7 O Chineke anyị, ọ bụghị gị onwe gị chụpụrụ ndị bi nʼala, site nʼihu ndị gị Izrel, were ya nye ụmụ ụmụ Ebraham, bụ enyi gị nwoke?
Did you not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend?
8 Ha ebiela nʼime ya wukwaa ebe nsọ nʼime nye nʼAha gị na-asị,
They lived in it, and have built you a sanctuary in it for your name, saying,
9 ‘Ọ bụrụ na ihe ọjọọ adakwasị anyị, maọbụ mma agha, ma nke ikpe ọmụma, maọbụ ajọọ ọrịa na-efe efe, maọbụ oke ụnwụ, anyị ga-eguzo nʼihu gị nʼụlọnsọ a nke a kpọkwasịrị Aha gị, kpọkuo gị nʼime nsogbu anyị, gị onwe gị ga-aza anyị, zọpụtakwa anyị.’
'If evil comes on us—the sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this house, and before you, (for your name is in this house), and cry to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.'
10 “Ugbu a lee, ndị ikom si Amọn, na Moab, na nʼugwu Sia, ndị ị na-ekweghị ka ndị Izrel banye nʼoke ala ha mgbe ha si nʼIjipt pụta, kama ha sitere nʼakụkụ ọzọ gabiga si otu a chebe ndị a ndụ.
Now, look, the people of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned aside from them, and did not destroy them;
11 Lee ihe ha ji akwụ anyị ụgwọ bụ ịchọ ka ha chụpụ anyị nʼala a i nyere anyị ka ọ bụrụ ihe nketa anyị.
look, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit.
12 O Chineke anyị, ọ bụ na ị gaghị ekpe ha ikpe? Nʼihi na ike adịghị nʼime anyị iguzogide igwe mmadụ ndị a bara ụba na-abịa ịlụso anyị ọgụ. Anyị amakwaghị ihe anyị ga-eme, kama ọ bụ na gị ka anya anyị na-adịkwasị.”
Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that comes against us; neither know we what to do, but our eyes are on you."
13 Ndị ikom Juda niile, ha na ndị nwunye ha, na ụmụ ha, na ụmụntakịrị ha guzoro nʼihu Onyenwe anyị.
All Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
14 Mgbe ahụ, mmụọ Nsọ Onyenwe anyị dakwasịrị Jahaziel nwa Zekaraya, nwa Benaya, nwa Jeiel, nwa Matanaya, bụ onye Livayị, onye si nʼikwu Asaf, dịka o guzo nʼetiti mkpọkọta ahụ.
Then the Spirit of the LORD came on Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, the Levite, of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly;
Nke a bụ ihe Onyenwe anyị na-asị unu. ‘Unu atụla ụjọ, maọbụ daa mba, nʼihi usuu ndị agha a niile dị unu nʼihu. Ọ bụghị unu ka agha a dịịrị, kama ọ bụ Chineke nwe ya.
and he said, "Listen, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you king Jehoshaphat. Thus says the LORD to you, 'Do not be afraid, neither be dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.
16 Echi pụọnụ izute ha. Ha ga arịgota site nʼụzọ warawara nrigo Ziz, unu ga-ahụ ha na nsọtụ ndagwurugwu dị tupu e ruo nʼọzara Jeruel.
Tomorrow go down against them. Look, they are coming up by the ascent of Ziz. You shall find them at the end of the valley, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
17 Ọ bụghị unu ka ọ dịrị ịlụ agha a, kama werenụ ọnọdụ unu, guzosienụ ike ka unu jiri anya unu hụ nzọpụta Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke unu ga-enye unu, unu ndị Juda na Jerusalem. Unu atụla egwu, unu adakwala mba. Pụkwuru ha nʼihu agha mgbe chi echi bọrọ, Onyenwe anyị ga-anọnyekwara unu.’”
You will not need to fight this battle. Set yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed. Go out against them tomorrow, for the LORD is with you.'"
Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.
19 Mgbe ahụ kwa, ndị Livayị si nʼagbụrụ Kohat na Kora jiri ike ha niile too Onyenwe anyị Chineke Izrel nʼabụ.
The Levites, of the descendants of the Kohathites and of the descendants of the Korahites, stood up to praise the LORD, the God of Israel, with an exceeding loud voice.
They rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Listen to me, Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem. Believe in the LORD your God, so you will be established. Believe his prophets, and you will prosper."
When he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and give praise in holy array, as they went out before the army, and say, Give thanks to the LORD; for his loving kindness endures forever.
When they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushers against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were struck.
23 Ma ndị agha Amọn na Moab buru ụzọ lụso ndị agha si nʼugwu Sia ọgụ. Mgbe ha lakwara onwe ha nʼiyi, ọgụ dakwara nʼetiti ndị Moab na Amọn.
For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, utterly to kill and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, everyone helped to destroy another.
24 Mgbe ndị agha Juda rutere ebe ha ga-esi lepụ anya hụ ihe na-eme nʼọzara ahụ, ha lepụrụ anya ịhụ usuu ndị agha ahụ, ma ihe ha hụrụ bụ ozu ndị agha tọgbọcha nʼala. Ọ dịkwaghị otu nʼime ndị agha ahụ gbapụrụ na ndụ.
When Judah came to the place overlooking the wilderness, they looked at the multitude; and look, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and there were none who escaped.
Ihe nkwata nʼagha hiri nne ruo na o were ha ụbọchị atọ ibutecha ha.
When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their spoil, they found among them in abundance both riches and dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in taking the spoil, it was so much.
26 Nʼụbọchị nke anọ ha zukọtara na Ndagwurugwu Beraka ebe ha nọ too Onyenwe anyị otuto. Ọ bụ nke a mere e ji akpọ ebe ahụ Ndagwurugwu Beraka ruo taa.
On the fourth day they assembled themselves in the Valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of that place was called The Valley of Berachah to this day.
27 Emesịa, Jehoshafat duuru ndị Juda na Jerusalem niile laghachi na Jerusalem nʼọṅụ, nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị emeelara ha ihe ha kwesiri iji ṅụrịa ọṅụ nʼebe ndị iro ha nọ.
Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in their forefront, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies.
28 Ha ji une, na ụbọ akwara, na opi ike bata Jerusalem, gaa nʼụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị.
They came to Jerusalem with stringed instruments and harps and trumpets to the house of the LORD.
29 Egwu Chineke dakwasịrị alaeze niile bi gburugburu, mgbe ha nụrụ otu Onyenwe anyị si lụọ ọgụ megide ndị iro Izrel niile.
The fear of God was on all the kingdoms of the countries, when they heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet; for his God gave him rest all around.
31 Jehoshafat ghọrọ eze juda. Ọ gbara iri afọ atọ na ise mgbe ọ malitere ịbụ eze Juda. Ọ chịrị iri afọ abụọ na ise na Jerusalem. Aha nne ya bụ Azuba, nwa Shilhi.
Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
He walked in the way of Asa his father, and did not turn aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD.
However the high places were not taken away; neither as yet had the people set their hearts to the God of their fathers.
34 Ihe banyere ihe ndị ọzọ niile mere nʼọchịchị Jehoshafat, site na mbido ruo na ngwụcha, ka e dere nʼakwụkwọ ihe mere nke Jehu nwa Hanani, nke e debanyere nʼime akwụkwọ akụkọ ndị eze Izrel.
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, look, they are written in the history of Jehu the son of Hanani, which is inserted in the book of the kings of Israel.
35 Mgbe ihe ndị a gasịrị, Jehoshafat, bụ eze Juda jikọrọ onwe ha na Ahazaya, eze Izrel, onye ahụ omume ya jọrọ njọ.
After this Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined himself with Ahaziah king of Israel. The same did very wickedly:
36 Ha kwekọrịtara ka ha na ya wuo ọtụtụ ụgbọ mmiri e ji azụ ahịa. Emesịa, ha wuru ụgbọ ndị a nʼEziọn Geba.
and he joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish; and they made the ships in Ezion Geber.
37 Elieza nwa Dodavahu, onye Maresha buru amụma megide Jehoshafat, na-asị, “Nʼihi na i kwenyere ka gị na Ahazaya na-azụkọ ahịa, Onyenwe anyị ga-emebi ihe ndị a ị rụrụ.” Ụgbọ mmiri ahụ niile kpuru, ha enwekwaghị ike ijeru Tashish zụọ ahịa.
Then Eliezer the son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, "Because you have joined yourself with Ahaziah, the LORD has destroyed your works." The ships were broken, so that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
