< 1 Timoti 5 >

1 Abarala okenye mba nʼolu dị ike, kama jiri arịrịọ na nsọpụrụ gwa ya okwu dị ka ọ bụ nna gị. Na-agwa ụmụ okorobịa okwu dị ka ị ga-esi gwa ụmụnne gị ị hụrụ nʼanya okwu.
Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers;
2 Na-emeso ndị inyom ndị bụ okenye omume dị ka ndị nne, ma na-emesokwa ụmụ agbọghọ omume dị ka ị ga-esi mesoo ụmụnne gị nwanyị omume. Na-echekwa uche nʼịdị ọcha nʼebe o zuruoke.
the older women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity.
Honor widows who are widows indeed.
4 Kama ọ bụrụ na nwanyị ọbụla di ya nwụrụ nwere ụmụ, maọbụ ụmụ ụmụ, ndị a bụ ndị kwesiri ibu mkpa ha. Nʼihi na anyị kwesiri isite nʼụlọ anyị gosi obiọma anyị inyere ndị mụrụ anyị aka. Nʼihi na omume dị otu a na-atọ Chineke ụtọ.
But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family, and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
Now she who is a widow indeed, and desolate, has her hope set on God, and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.
6 Ma nwanyị di ya nwụrụ nke weere onwe ya nyefee nʼaka ịgbaso ihe na-eme ya obi ụtọ bụrịị onye nwụrụ anwụ, ọ bụ ezie na ọ ka dị ndụ.
But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.
7 Nye ha ihe ndị a dịka iwu, ka ha ghara ị bụ ndị a na-ata ụta.
Also command these things, so that they will be without fault.
8 Onye ọbụla na-adịghị egboro ndị ikwu ya, karịchasịa ndị ezinaụlọ nke aka ya ihe na-akpa ha mkpa, ajụla okwukwe ahụ ma jọkarịakwa onye na-ekweghị ekwe na njọ.
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
Let no one be enrolled as a widow under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man,
10 Ọ ga-abụ onye mmadụ niile na-agbara ezi ama, nʼihi ezi ọrụ ọ rụrụ. Ọ ga-abụ onye zụlitere ụmụ ya nʼụzọ ziri ezi, onye na-elezi ndị ọbịa anya, onye na-enyere ndị ọrịa na ndị merụrụ ahụ aka, onye na-asa ụkwụ ndị nsọ na onye jikeere mgbe niile ime ihe ọma.
being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.
But refuse younger widows, for whenever their passions lead them away from Christ, they desire to marry;
12 Ụdị omume a ga-ewetara ha ikpe ọmụma, nʼihi na ha emezughị nkwa ha kwere na mbụ.
having condemnation, because they have rejected their first pledge.
13 Wezugakwarị nke a, na ha amụta omume ịdị umengwụ, nʼaga nʼụlọ dị iche iche. Ọ bụghị naanị na ha bụ ndị na-adịghị arụ ọrụ, kama ha na-etinye anya nʼihe na-agbasaghị ha, na-akpa asịrị, na-ekwu okwu nzuzu, na-ekwu ihe ha ekwesighị ikwu.
Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.
I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for reviling.
15 Ụfọdụ ndị mmadụ adahielarị ụzọ, soro ekwensu.
For already some have turned aside after Satan.
If any believing woman has widows, she must assist them, and do not let the church be burdened; that it might help those widows who are truly in need.
17 Nye ndị okenye, ndị na-achị nke ọma nsọpụrụ kwesiri ekwesi na ụgwọ ọrụ okpukpu abụọ, ọkachasị ndị na-adọgbu onwe ha nʼọrụ izi oziọma na nʼikuzi ihe.
Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.
18 Nʼihi na akwụkwọ nsọ kwuru, “Ekechila ọnụ ehi mgbe ọ na-azọcha mkpụrụ ọka,” hapụ ya ka ọ na-eri nri mgbe ọ na-arụ ọrụ, ọzọkwa, “Onye na-arụ ọrụ kwesiri ịnata ụgwọ ọrụ ya.”
For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain." And, "The laborer is worthy of his wages."
19 Egela ntị nʼebubo ọjọọ ọbụla a na-ebo onye okenye karịakwa maọbụ na ndị akaebe abụọ maọbụ atọ gbara ama megide ya.
Do not receive an accusation against an elder, except at the word of two or three witnesses.
Those who sin, reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear.
21 Ana m adọ unu aka na ntị nʼihu Chineke na nʼihu Onyenwe anyị Jisọs Kraịst na nʼihu ndị mmụọ ozi a họpụtara, ka unu debe ụkpụrụ ndị a niile, nye onye ọbụla ntaramahụhụ nke ruru ya, elekwala onye ọbụla anya nʼihu.
I command you in the sight of God, and Christ Jesus, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.
22 Ebikwasịkwala onye ọbụla aka nʼisi ọsịịsọ ime ya okenye maọbụ onye na-eje ozi. Ekwela ka i keta oke na mmehie ndị ọzọ. Debe onwe gị ọcha.
Do not ordain anyone hastily, nor participate in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.
23 Aṅụkwala naanị mmiri ọzọ, na-aṅụ ntakịrị mmanya maka afọ gị na nrịa nrịa nke na-arịa gị ọtụtụ mgbe.
Be no longer a drinker of water only, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent infirmities.
The sins of some people are obvious, going before them to judgment, but those of others show up later.
25 Otu a kwa, ọrụ ọma na-apụta ihe, ma ọ bụladị ndị na-apụtaghị ihe, apụghị izo ha ezo.
In the same way also there are good works that are obvious, and those that are otherwise cannot be hidden.
