< 1 Timoti 2 >

1 Na mbụ, ana m arịọ ka e kpee ekpere, kwuchite ọnụ ndị ọzọ nʼekpere, ma nye ekele nʼisi mmadụ niile,
I exhort then, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men;
2 kpee ekpere maka ndị eze niile, na ndị niile nọ nʼọnọdụ ọchịchị, ka anyị nwee ike bie ndụ udo na nke nsogbu na-adịghị, nʼime ịsọpụrụ Chineke dị ka ọ chọrọ.
including kings and all who are in high station, in order that we may live peaceful and tranquil lives with all godliness and gravity.
3 Nke a bụkwa ihe dị mma na ihe na-atọ Chineke Onye nzọpụta anyị ezi ụtọ.
This is right, and is pleasing in the sight of God our Saviour,
4 Onye chọrọ ka a zọpụta mmadụ niile, ka ha niile bịaruo na mmazu nke eziokwu.
who is willing for all mankind to be saved and come to a full knowledge of the truth.
5 Nʼihi na ọ bụ naanị otu Chineke dị. Ọ bụkwa naanị otu onye ogbugbo dị nʼetiti Chineke na mmadụ. Kraịst Jisọs, onye ya onwe ya bụ mmadụ.
For there is but one God and but one Mediator between God and men--Christ Jesus, Himself man;
6 Onye weere onwe ya ka ọ bụrụ ihe mgbapụta nʼihi mmadụ niile, nke bụ ịgba ama a na-enye nʼoge ya.
who gave Himself as the redemption price for all--a fact testified to at its own appointed time,
7 Nʼihi nke a, a họpụtara m ka m bụrụ ọnụ na-ekwuru ọha nakwa onyeozi, na onye nkuzi nye ndị mba ọzọ banyere ezi okwukwe ahụ. Eziokwu ka m na-ekwu, anaghị m agha ụgha.
and of which I have been appointed a herald and an Apostle (I am speaking the truth: it is not a fiction), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
8 Nʼihi nke a, achọrọ m ka ndị ikom, nʼebe niile na-achili aka dị nsọ elu nʼekpere, na-ebughị iwe nʼobi, na-arụkwaghị ụka.
So then I would have the men everywhere pray, lifting to God holy hands which are unstained with anger or strife;
9 Achọkwara m ka ndị inyom kwadoo onwe ha nʼụzọ kwesiri ekwesi, ka ha jiri nsọpụrụ na uche zuruoke chọọ onwe ha mma. Ọ bụghị isi a kpara akpa, ma ọ bụkwanụ ngwa mma nke ọlaedo maọbụ pieal, maọbụ uwe dị oke ọnụahịa ha na-eyi.
and I would have the women dress becomingly, with modesty and self-control, not with plaited hair or gold or pearls or costly clothes,
10 Kama site nʼezi ọrụ ọma ha nke kwesiri ndị inyom na-ekwupụta na ha na-ekpere Chineke.
but--as befits women making a claim to godliness--with the ornament of good works.
11 Nwanyị kwesikwara iji obi dị umeala na obi dị nwayọọ gee ntị mụtakwa ihe mgbe a na-ezi ihe.
A woman should quietly learn from others with entire submissiveness.
12 Ekwenyeghị m ka nwanyị zie ihe, maọbụ ka ọ bụrụ onyeisi nʼebe ndị nwoke nọ. Ha kwesiri ịnọ nwayọọ mgbe ọbụla unu zukọrọ.
I do not permit a woman to teach, nor have authority over a man, but she must remain silent.
13 Ọ bụ nʼihi na e buru ụzọ kee Adam tupu e kee Iiv.
For Adam was formed first, and then Eve;
14 Ọ bụkwaghị Adam ka a ghọgburu, kama ọ bụ nwanyị ka a ghọgburu mee ka ọ bụrụ onye mmebi iwu.
and Adam was not deceived, but his wife was thoroughly deceived, and so became involved in transgression.
15 Ma a ga-azọpụta ha site nʼọmụmụ nwa ma ọ bụrụ na ha anọgide na-ebi ndụ okwukwe na ịhụnanya, na ịdị nsọ, na nke uche zuruoke.
Yet a woman will be brought safely through childbirth if she and her husband continue to live in faith and love and growing holiness, with habitual self-restraint.
