< 1 Ndị Tesalonaịka 2 >
1 Unu onwe unu maara, ụmụnna, na ọbịbịa anyị bịakwutere unu abụghị ihe lara nʼiyi.
For you yourselves, brethren, know that our visit to you did not fail of its purpose.
2 Anyị tara ahụhụ na mbụ e mekwara anyị ihe ihere na Filipai dịka unu maara, ma site nʼinyeaka Chineke anyị nwere obi ike ịgwa unu oziọma ya, ọ bụladị mgbe a na-eguzogide anyị nʼebe ọ dị ukwuu.
But, as you will remember, after we had already met with suffering and outrage at Philippi, we summoned up boldness, by the help of our God, to tell you God's Good News amid much opposition.
3 Nʼihi na arịrịọ anyị na-arịọ unu esiteghị na njehie pụta maọbụ nʼọchịchọ nke na-adịghị ọcha ma ọ bụkwanụ nʼaghụghọ.
For our preaching was not grounded on a delusion, nor prompted by mingled motives, nor was there fraud in it.
4 Nʼaka nke ọzọ, anyị na-ekwu okwu dị ka ndị ozi Chineke nwapụtara, ndị o tinyere ọrụ oziọma a nʼaka na ntụkwasị obi idebe. Anyị adịghị agbalị ime ihe ga-atọ mmadụ ụtọ, kama anyị chọrọ ime ihe ga-atọ Chineke ụtọ, bụ onye na-enyocha echiche obi anyị.
But as God tested and approved us before entrusting us with His Good News, so in what we say we are seeking not to please men but to please God, who tests and approves our motives.
5 Ọ dịghị mgbe ọbụla, dị ka unu maara, anyị kwuru okwu nrafu maọbụ were ụzọ aghụghọ zoo anya ukwu anyị nwere. Chineke bụ onye akaebe anyị.
For, as you are well aware, we have never used the language of flattery nor have we found pretexts for enriching ourselves--God is our witness;
6 Ọ dịghị mgbe anyị chọrọ ka ndị mmadụ ọbụla maọbụ unu, maọbụ ndị ọzọ, too anyị.
nor did we seek glory either from you or from any other mere men, although we might have stood on our dignity as Christ's Apostles.
7 Ọ bụ ezie, dị ka ndị ozi Kraịst, anyị gara abụ ibu arụ nye unu. Kama, anyị biri nʼetiti unu site nʼịdị nwayọọ dị ka ndị bụ nne na-azụ ụmụntakịrị ha, na-elekọta ha.
On the contrary, in our relations to you we showed ourselves as gentle as a mother is when she tenderly nurses her own children.
8 Nʼihi na anyị hụrụ unu nʼanya nke ukwuu ruo na ọ bụghị naanị na anyị kwusaara unu oziọma Chineke kama anyị nyekwara unu ndụ anyị. Nʼihi na unu dị anyị nʼobi nke ukwu.
Seeing that we were thus drawn affectionately towards you, it would have been a joy to us to have imparted to you not only God's Good News, but to have given our very lives also, because you had become very dear to us.
9 Nʼezie ụmụnna m, amaara m na unu ga-echeta otu anyị si rụọ ọrụ hụjuokwa anya nʼetiti unu. Anyị na-arụ ọrụ ehihie na abalị ịhụ na anyị rụtara ego ga-ezuru anyị, nʼihi na anyị achọghị ịbụ oke ibu nye onye ọbụla mgbe anyị na-ezisara unu oziọma Chineke.
For you remember, brethren, our labour and toil: how, working night and day so as not to become a burden to any one of you, we came and proclaimed among you God's Good News.
You yourselves are witnesses--and God is witness--how holy and upright and blameless our dealings with you believers were.
11 Nʼihi na anyị mesoro onye ọbụla nʼime unu dị ka nna si emeso ụmụ nke ya,
For you know that we acted towards every one of you as a father does towards his own children, encouraging and cheering you,
12 na-agba unu ume, na-akasị unu obi, na-akwagidekwa unu na unu kwesiri ibi ndụ kwesiri ụmụ Chineke, onye kpọbatara unu nʼime alaeze ya na ebube ya.
and imploring you to live lives worthy of fellowship with God who is inviting you to share His own Kingship and glory.
13 Nʼihi nke a, anyị ga-aga nʼihu na-ekele Chineke na-esepụghị aka, nʼihi na mgbe unu nabatara okwu Chineke, bụ nke unu nụrụ nʼọnụ anyị, unu anabataghị ya dị ka okwu mmadụ, kama otu ọ dịkwa nʼeziokwu, ya bụ okwu Chineke, nke na-arụsikwa ọrụ ike nʼime unu bụ ndị kweere ya.
And for this further reason we render unceasing thanks to God, that when you received God's Message from our lips, it was as no mere message from men that you embraced it, but as--what it really is--God's Message, which also does its work in the hearts of you who believe.
14 Unu onwe unu, ụmụnna m, ghọọnụ ndị na-eṅomi nzukọ nke Chineke nʼime Kraịst Jisọs, ndị nọ na Judịa. Nʼihi na unu onwe unu hụkwara otu ụdị ahụhụ ahụ nʼaka ndị ala unu, dị ka ha onwe ha hụrụ nʼaka ndị Juu.
For you, brethren, followed the example of the Churches of God in Christ Jesus which are in Judaea; seeing that you endured the same ill-treatment at the hands of your countrymen, as they did at the hands of the Jews.
15 Ndị gburu ndị amụma, gbukwaa Onyenwe anyị Jisọs. Ugbu a ha na-akpagbukwa anyị na-achụpụ anyị. Ha na-emegide Chineke na mmadụ niile
Those Jewish persecutors killed both the Lord Jesus and the Prophets, and drove us out of their midst. They are displeasing to God, and are the enemies of all mankind;
16 site nʼigbochi anyị izisara ndị mba ọzọ oziọma ka a ghara ịzọpụta ha. Ha na-esite nʼụzọ dị otu a na-eme ka iko mmehie ha na-eju. Ma ikpe Chineke adakwasịlarị ha.
for they still try to prevent our preaching to the Gentiles so that they may find salvation. They thus continually fill up the measure of their own sins, and God's anger in its severest form has overtaken them.
17 Otu ọ dị, ụmụnna anyị, mgbe anyị si nʼetiti unu pụọ, nọọ nwa oge nta, ọnọdụ a mere anyị ndị na-enweghị nne na nna (maọbụ na-anụ ahụ ọ bụghị nʼime mmụọ), nʼihi otu unu si gụọ anyị agụụ, anyị gbalịrị ihu unu.
But we, brethren, having been for a short time separated from you in bodily presence, though not in heart, endeavoured all the more earnestly, with intense longing, to see you face to face.
18 Anyị gbalịsịrị ike ịbịakwute unu, karịsịa, mụ onwe m bụ Pọl gbalịrị, gbalịa ịbịa, ma ekwensu gbochiri anyị.
On this account we wanted to come to you--at least I Paul wanted again and again to do so--but Satan hindered us.
19 Nʼihi na olee ihe bụ olileanya anyị, maọbụ ọṅụ anyị, maọbụ okpueze anyị, nke anyị ga-eji nyaa isi mgbe a ga-eme ka anyị niile guzo nʼihu Onyenwe anyị Jisọs Kraịst, mgbe ọ ga-abịa? Ọ bụ na ọ bụghị unu onwe unu?
For what is our hope or joy, or the crown of which we boast? Is it not you yourselves in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His Coming?
20 Nʼezie, unu onwe unu bụ ọṅụ na otuto anyị.
Yes, you are our glory and our joy.
