< 1 Samuel 7 >
1 Ya mere, ndị ikom Kiriat Jearim bịara buru igbe ọgbụgba ndụOnyenwe anyị bubata ya nʼụlọ Abinadab nke dị nʼelu ugwu. Ha doro Elieza, ọkpara Abinadab nsọ, ka ọ bụrụ onye na-elekọta igbe ọgbụgba ndụ Onyenwe anyị.
The men of Kiriath Jearim came and took the LORD’s ark, and brought it into Abinadab’s house on the hill, and consecrated Eleazar his son to keep the LORD’s ark.
2 Igbe ahụ dịgidere na Kiriat Jearim ogologo oge, iri afọ abụọ zuruoke. Ma nʼoge a niile, ndị Izrel nọ na-eru ụjụ nʼihi Onyenwe anyị.
From the day that the ark stayed in Kiriath Jearim, the time was long—for it was twenty years; and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.
3 Ya mere, Samuel gwara ezinaụlọ Izrel niile sị, “Ọ bụrụ na unu ji obi unu niile na alaghachikwute Onyenwe anyị, mgbe ahụ, wezuganụ chi niile nke ndị ala ọzọ, na arụsị Ashtọret site nʼetiti unu. Kpebienụ nʼobi unu ịbịakwute Onyenwe anyị, feekwa naanị ya ofufe. Ọ ga-anapụtakwa unu site nʼaka ndị Filistia.”
Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “If you are returning to the LORD with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you, and direct your hearts to the LORD, and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”
4 Ya mere, ndị Izrel wezugara arụsị Baal na Ashtọret ha, bido ife naanị Onyenwe anyị.
Then the children of Israel removed the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.
5 Samuel gwara ha sị, “Unu ndị Izrel, zukọtaanụ na Mizpa, ka m rịọọ Onyenwe anyị arịrịọ nʼisi unu.”
Samuel said, “Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the LORD for you.”
They gathered together to Mizpah, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, “We have sinned against the LORD.” Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpah.
7 Mgbe ndị Filistia nụrụ na ụmụ Izrel zukọrọ na Mizpa, ndị eze ndị Filistia chịkọtara ndị agha ha, bịa ibuso Izrel agha. Mgbe ụmụ Izrel nụrụ na ha na-abịa nso, ha tụrụ ụjọ nke ukwuu.
When the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. When the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
8 Ha sịrị Samuel, “Akwụsịla itiku Onyenwe anyị Chineke anyị mkpu akwa nʼihi anyị, kpeekwa ekpere ka ọ zọpụta anyị site nʼaka ndị Filistia.”
The children of Israel said to Samuel, “Don’t stop crying to the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.”
9 Mgbe ahụ, Samuel weere nwa atụrụ na-aṅụ ara jiri ya chụọrọ Onyenwe anyị aja nsure ọkụ, rịọkwa Onyenwe anyị ka o nyere Izrel aka. Onyenwe anyị zara ekpere ya.
Samuel took a suckling lamb, and offered it for a whole burnt offering to the LORD. Samuel cried to the LORD for Israel, and the LORD answered him.
10 Nʼoge ahụ, mgbe Samuel nọ na-esure aja nsure ọkụ ahụ, ndị Filistia bịaruru nso ibuso Izrel agha, ma Onyenwe anyị sitere nʼeluigwe were oke olu egbe eluigwe nke dara oke ụda chụsasịa ha. O mere ka ọgbaaghara bata nʼetiti ndị Filistia. Nke a mekwara ka ụmụ Izrel kpochapụ ha,
As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines came near to battle against Israel; but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day on the Philistines and confused them; and they were struck down before Israel.
11 Ndị ikom Izrel si na Mizpa pụta chụso ndị Filistia ọsọ, na-etigbu ha nʼụzọ ruo na ndịda Bet-Ka.
The men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and struck them until they came under Beth Kar.
12 Mgbe ahụ, Samuel weere otu nkume doo ya nʼagbata Mizpa na Shen, kpọọ ebe ahụ, Ebeneza, nke pụtara, “Nkume inyeaka,” nʼihi na ọ sịrị, “Nʼezie, Onyenwe anyị enyerela anyị aka ruo ugbu a.”
Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “The LORD helped us until now.”
13 Ya mere, mmeri a e meriri ndị Filistia mere ka ha ghara ibuso Izrel agha ọzọ, nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị kwụsịrị ha ime nke a ụbọchị niile nke ndụ Samuel.
So the Philistines were subdued, and they stopped coming within the border of Israel. The LORD’s hand was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
14 E nyeghachiri ndị Izrel obodo niile ndị Filistia dọtara nʼagha na mbụ, nke dị site nʼEkrọn ruo Gat. Ndị Izrel napụtara oke ala ndị a site nʼaka ndị Filistia. Nʼụzọ dị otu a, e mere ka udo dị nʼetiti ndị Izrel na ndị Amọrait.
The cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even to Gath; and Israel recovered its border out of the hand of the Philistines. There was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
15 Samuel nọgidere dịka onye ikpe ndị Izrel ụbọchị niile nke ndụ ya.
Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
16 Afọ niile, ọ na-ejegharị site nʼotu obodo ruo nʼobodo ọzọ, site nʼobodo Betel ruo Gilgal, ruokwa Mizpa. Ọ na-anọkwa nʼobodo ndị a na-ekpe ndị Izrel ikpe.
He went from year to year in a circuit to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.
17 Ma ọ na-alọghachi na Rema, nʼihi na ọ bụ nʼebe ahụ ka ụlọ ya dị. O kpekwara ndị Izrel ikpe nʼebe ahụ, wuokwara Onyenwe anyị ebe ịchụ aja nʼebe ahụ.
His return was to Ramah, for his house was there, and he judged Israel there; and he built an altar to the LORD there.
