< 1 Samuel 13 >
1 Sọl gbara iri afọ atọ mgbe e mere ya eze. Ọ chịkwara dịka eze nʼala Izrel iri afọ anọ na abụọ.
Saul was [thirty] years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years over Israel.
2 Sọl sitere nʼetiti ụmụ Izrel họpụta puku ndị ikom atọ ka ha bụrụ ndị agha ya. Sọl na puku abụọ nọ na Mikmash nʼala ugwu ugwu Betel. Otu puku nọnyeere Jonatan na Gibea, nʼala Benjamin. Ndị ikom ndị fọdụrụ ka o zighachiri, onye ọbụla nʼụlọ ha.
And Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel; whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in the mount of Beth-el, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.
And Jonathan smote the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, Let the Hebrews hear.
4 Ya mere, ụmụ Izrel niile nụrụ akụkọ ahụ nke kwuru sị, “Sọl ebusola ọmụma ụlọ ikwu ndị agha Filistia agha, nʼihi nke a, ndị Izrel niile abụrụla ndị a kpọrọ asị ugbu a nʼetiti ndị Filistia.” Ya mere, ndị agha Izrel niile pụtakwara soro Sọl gaa Gilgal.
And all Israel heard say that Saul had smitten the garrison of the Philistines, and that Israel also was had in abomination with the Philistines. And the people were gathered together after Saul to Gilgal.
5 Ndị Filistia nʼonwe ha chịkọtara ndị agha ha ibuso ndị Izrel agha. Ọnụọgụgụ ụgbọ agha ha dị puku atọ, ndị na-agba ịnyịnya ha nwere dị puku isii; ndị agha ha ndị ọzọ dị ukwu nʼọnụọgụgụ. Nʼezie, ha dị ukwuu dịka aja dị nʼọnụ osimiri. Ha manyere ụlọ ikwu ha na Mikmash nʼọwụwa anyanwụ Bet-Aven.
And the Philistines assembled themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and they came up, and pitched in Michmash, eastward of Beth-aven.
6 Mgbe ndị agha Izrel hụrụ na ọnọdụ ha dị njọ nke ukwuu, hụkwa na ndị iro na-emegide ha, ha zoro onwe ha nʼọgba nkume, nʼime oke ọhịa, nʼetiti nkume, nʼime olulu na nʼime oghere ọbụla.
When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait, (for the people were distressed, ) then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in holds, and in pits.
7 Ndị Hibru ụfọdụ gafere Jọdan ruo nʼala Gad na Gilead. Nʼoge a, Sọl nọ na Gilgal, ndị agha niile ya na ha nọ na-amakwa jijiji nʼihi ụjọ.
Now some of the Hebrews had gone over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead; but as for Saul, he was yet in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.
8 Samuel gwararịị Sọl ka o chere ya ruo abalị asaa, ma mgbe abalị asaa zuru Samuel abịaghị Gilgal. Nʼoge a, ndị agha Sọl malitere na-agbasasị.
And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had [appointed]: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.
9 Ya mere, Sọl kwuru sị, “Wetaranụ m ihe aja nsure ọkụ na nke aja udo.” Sọl chụkwara aja nsure ọkụ ahụ.
And Saul said, Bring hither the burnt offering to me, and the peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.
10 Ngwangwa ọ na-achụcha aja ndị ahụ, Samuel rutere, Sọl pụrụ izute ya, na ikele ya.
And it came to pass that, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.
11 Samuel sịrị, “Gịnị bụ ihe a i mere?” Sọl zara, “Mgbe m hụrụ na ndị a na-agba aghara aghara, na-esite nʼebe m nọ na-agbapụ, mgbe m lere anya lee, ma ahụghị m ka ị na-abịa dịka i kwuru, mgbe m hụkwara ndị Filistia ka ha nọ na Mikmash, na-akwado ibuso anyị agha,
And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines assembled themselves together at Michmash;
12 echeere m, ‘Ugbu a, ndị Filistia ga-arịdakwute m ibuso m agha na Gilgal, ma arịọbeghị m ihuọma Onyenwe anyị.’ Ya mere m, m jisie ike chụọ aja nsure ọkụ ahụ.”
therefore said I, Now will the Philistines come down upon me to Gilgal, and I have not entreated the favour of the LORD: I forced myself therefore, and offered the burnt offering.
13 Samuel sịrị Sọl, “Ị kpara agwa onye nzuzu. I debeghị ihe Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị nyere gị nʼiwu idebe. A si na i mere nke a, ọ gaara eme ka alaeze gị guzosie ike nʼebe Izrel nọ ruo mgbe niile.
And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.
14 Ma ugbu a, alaeze gị agaghị adịgide. Onyenwe anyị achọpụtala otu nwoke dịka ọchịchọ obi ya si dị, ọ họpụtakwala ya ịbụ eze nke ndị ya; nʼihi na ị debeghị ihe Onyenwe anyị nyere gị nʼiwu.”
But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath appointed him to be prince over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.
15 Samuel biliri hapụ Gilgal gaa Gibea nʼala Benjamin. Mgbe Sọl gụrụ ndị agha so ya, ọ chọpụtara na ha dị naanị narị isii.
And Samuel arose, and gat him up from Gilgal unto Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people that were present with him, about six hundred men.
16 Sọl na nwa ya nwoke Jonatan, na narị mmadụ isii ndị soo ha nọ na Geba nʼala Benjamin, ebe ndị Filistia mara ụlọ ikwu ha na Mikmash.
And Saul, and Jonathan his son, and the people that were present with them, abode in Geba of Benjamin: but the Philistines encamped in Michmash.
17 Ụfọdụ nʼime ndị agha Filistia kere onwe ha ụzọ atọ site nʼụlọ ikwu ndị Filistia pụta; otu ụzọ chere ihu nʼụzọ Ofra nʼakụkụ Shual,
And the spoilers came out of the camp of the Philistines in three companies: one company turned unto the way that leadeth to Ophrah, unto the land of Shual:
18 nke ọzọ chere ihu ịga Bet-Horon, nke atọ chee ihu nʼụzọ oke ala dị na Ndagwurugwu Zeboiim, nke dị ọzara nso.
and another company turned the way to Beth-horon: and another company turned the way of the border that looketh down upon the valley of Zeboim toward the wilderness.
19 Nʼoge ahụ, e nweghị ike ịchọta otu ọkpụ ụzụ nʼala Izrel, nʼihi na ndị Filistia sịrị, “Ma ọ bụghị otu a, ndị Hibru ga-akpụtara onwe ha mma agha maọbụ ùbe.”
Now there was no smith found throughout all the land of Israel: for the Philistines said, Lest the Hebrews make them swords or spears:
20 Izrel niile na-ejekwuru ndị Filistia maka ịmụ ọgụ igwuze ala ha, maọbụ mma oge ha, maọbụ anyụike ha, maọbụ mma ha ji ewe ihe ubi.
but all the Israelites went down to the Philistines, to sharpen every man his share, and his coulter, and his axe, and his mattock;
21 Ihe ha na-akwụ maka ịmụ ọgụ igwuze ala, na mma oge ha bụ ụzọ abụọ nke shekel e kere ụzọ atọ, maka ịmụ anyụike, na ndụdụ, ya na ịpị ndụdụ e ji achị ehi bụ, otu ụzọ nke shekel e kere ụzọ atọ.
yet they had a file for the mattocks, and for the coulters, and for the forks, and for the axes; and to set the goads.
22 Nke mere na ahụtaghị mma agha maọbụ ùbe ọbụla nʼaka ndị agha Izrel nʼụbọchị agha ahụ, ma ọ bụghị naanị nke dị nʼaka Sọl na Jonatan.
So it came to pass in the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that were with Saul and Jonathan: but with Saul and with Jonathan his son was there found.
23 Ugbu a ndị Filistia e kewapụtara iche a pụọla gaa nʼụzọ warawara dị na Mikmash.
And the garrison of the Philistines went out unto the pass of Michmash.
