< 1 Ndị Eze 8 >

1 Mgbe ahụ, eze Solomọn kpọkọtara ndị okenye Izrel, na ndịisi ebo niile, na ndịisi ezinaụlọ Izrel niile, ka ha bịakwute eze na Jerusalem, maka i site na Zayọn bụ obodo Devid bugota igbe ọgbụgba ndụ Onyenwe anyị.
Then Solomon summoned before him in Jerusalem the elders of Israel, including all the heads of the tribes and the family leaders of the Israelites. He instructed them to bring up with them the Ark of the Lord's Agreement from Zion, the City of David.
2 Ndị Izrel niile gbakọtara bịakwute eze Solomọn nʼoge a na-eme mmemme nʼọnwa Etanim nke bụ ọnwa asaa nʼafọ.
All the men of Israel assembled before King Solomon at the festival which is held in the seventh month, the month of Ethanim.
3 Mgbe ndị okenye Izrel niile bịarutere, ndị nchụaja buliri igbe ọgbụgba ndụ ahụ.
When all the elders of Israel had gathered, the priests picked up the Ark and brought the Ark of the Lord and the Tent of Meeting with all its holy items.
4 Ha bugotara igbe ọgbụgba ndụ Onyenwe anyị, ya na ụlọ nzute, na ngwongwo niile dị nsọ dị nʼime ya. Ndị nchụaja na ndị Livayị buliri ha elu.
The priests and Levites carried them up.
5 Eze Solomọn na ọgbakọ Izrel niile, bụ ndị zukọtara nʼebe ọ nọ, nọ nʼihu igbe ọgbụgba ndụ ahụ, na-achụ aja ọtụtụ atụrụ na ọtụtụ ehi nke a na-apụghị ịgụta ọnụ maọbụ gbakọta ọnụọgụgụ ha nʼihi ịba ụba.
In front of the Ark, King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who had gathered there with him sacrificed many, many sheep and bulls—so numerous they couldn't be counted!
6 Ndị nchụaja bubatara igbe ọgbụgba ndụ Onyenwe anyị ahụ nʼime ime ụlọnsọ ukwu ahụ, nʼime Ebe Kachasị Nsọ, dọba ya nʼokpuru nku cherubim ahụ.
Then the priests carried the Ark of the Lord's Agreement to its place in the inner sanctuary of the Temple, the Most Holy Place, underneath the wings of the cherubim.
7 Cherubim ndị ahụ gbasara nku ha nʼelu igbe ọgbụgba ndụ ahụ, zochie igbe ọgbụgba ndụ ahụ na okporo osisi ndị e ji ebu ya.
The cherubim spread their wings over the place where the Ark was, covering the Ark and its carrying poles.
8 Okporo osisi ndị a dị oke ogologo, na e nwere ike ị site nʼEbe Nsọ, dị nʼihu ime ime ebe nsọ ahụ hụ isi ha anya, ma onye na-anọghị nʼEbe Nsọ ahụ adịghị ahụ ha. Ha ka dịkwa nʼebe ahụ ruo taa.
The poles were so long that the ends could be seen from the Holy Place in front of the inner sanctuary, but not from outside. They are there to this day.
9 O nweghị ihe dị nʼime igbe ọgbụgba ndụ ahụ, karịakwa mbadamba nkume abụọ ahụ Mosis tinyere nʼime ya nʼugwu Horeb, nʼebe Onyenwe anyị na ụmụ Izrel gbara ndụ, mgbe ha si nʼala Ijipt pụta.
There was nothing in the Ark apart from the two tablets of stone that Moses had placed in it at Horeb, where the Lord had made an agreement with the Israelites after they came out of the land of Egypt.
10 Mgbe ndị nchụaja si nʼEbe Nsọ ahụ pụta, igwe ojii jupụtara ụlọnsọ ukwu Onyenwe anyị ahụ.
When the priests left the Holy Place, the cloud filled the Temple of the Lord.
11 Ndị nchụaja enwekwaghị ike jee ozi ha, nʼihi igwe ojii ahụ, nʼihi na ebube Onyenwe anyị jupụtara nʼime ụlọnsọ ya.
Due to the cloud, the priests could not stay there to carry out their service, for the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord's Temple.
12 Mgbe ahụ, Solomọn sịrị, “Onyenwe anyị ekwuola na ọ ga-ebi nʼoke igwe ojii.
Then Solomon said: “Lord, you said that you would live in the thick cloud.
13 Ma nʼezie, ewuola m ụlọnsọ pụrụ iche, maa mma nye gị, ebe ị ga-ebi ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.”
Now I have built for you a majestic Temple, a place where you may live for ever.”
14 Dịka ọgbakọ Izrel niile na-eguzo nʼebe ahụ, eze chigharịrị onwe ya chee ha ihu, gọzie ha.
The king turned around to the whole assembly of Israel who were standing there, and blessed them,
15 Mgbe ahụ, ọ sịrị, “Otuto dịrị Onyenwe anyị, bụ Chineke Izrel, onye ji aka ya mezuo nkwa nke o sitere nʼọnụ ya kwee nna m Devid. Nʼihi na o kwuru sị,

17 “Nna m, Devid bu nʼobi iwu ụlọnsọ ukwu nye Aha Onyenwe anyị, bụ Chineke nke Izrel.

But it won't be you who will build this Temple, but your son who is to be born to you—he will build the Temple to honor me.'
20 “Ugbu a, Onyenwe anyị emezuola nkwa ahụ o kwere. A nọchiela m nna m Devid, ugbu a, ana m anọdụ nʼocheeze nke Izrel dịka Onyenwe anyị kwere na nkwa. Ewuokwala m ụlọnsọ ukwu nye Aha Onyenwe anyị, bụ Chineke nke Izrel.
Now the Lord has kept his promise that he made. I have succeeded my father David, and I sit on the throne of Israel, just as the Lord promised. I have built the Temple to honor the Lord, the God of Israel.
21 Edoziekwala m ọnọdụ ebe igbe ọgbụgba ndụ ahụ ga-adị, nʼime ya ka ọgbụgba ndụ Onyenwe anyị dị, bụ nke ya na nna nna anyị ha gbara, mgbe o mere ka ha si nʼala Ijipt pụta.”
I have provided a place there for the Ark, which contains the agreement of the Lord that he made with our forefathers when he led them out of the land of Egypt.”
22 Mgbe ahụ, Solomọn guzoro nʼihu ebe ịchụ aja Onyenwe anyị, na nʼihu ọgbakọ ụmụ Izrel niile, gbasapụ aka ya abụọ chilie ha elu,
Then Solomon stood in front of the altar of the Lord before the whole assembly of Israel and held out his hands toward heaven.

26 Ma ugbu a, Chineke nke Izrel, ka okwu gị, bụ nkwa nke i kwere ohu gị, bụ nna m Devid, bịa na mmezu.

For you set them apart from all the nations of the world as a people who belonged to you, just as you declared through your servant Moses when you led our fathers out of Egypt.”
54 Mgbe Solomọn kpechara ekpere ndị a ya na arịrịọ ọ rịọrọ Onyenwe anyị o si nʼihu ebe ịchụ aja Onyenwe anyị, bụ ebe o gburu ikpere nʼala, bilie, gbasapụ aka ya abụọ chilie ha elu.
After Solomon finished praying all these prayers and requests to the Lord, he stood up before the altar of the Lord, where he had been kneeling with his hands held out toward heaven.
55 O guzoro gọzie ọgbakọ Izrel niile, gwa ha okwu nʼoke olu sị ha,

62 Mgbe ahụ, eze ya na ndị Izrel niile chụrụ aja dị iche iche nʼihu Onyenwe anyị.

Solomon presented as friendship offerings to the Lord 22,000 bulls and 120,000 sheep. In this way the king and all the people of Israel dedicated the Lord's Temple.

On that same day, the king dedicated the center of the courtyard in front of the Lord's Temple. There he presented burnt offerings, grain offerings, and the fat of the friendship offerings, since the bronze altar in the Lord's presence was too small to hold all these offerings.
Then Solomon together with all of Israel observed the festival before the Lord our God for seven days, and then another seven days—fourteen days in all. It was a large assembly of people, who came from as far away as Lebo-hamath to the Wadi of Egypt.
One day later Solomon sent the people home. They blessed the king and went home, full of joy and happy for all the good things that the Lord had done for his servant David and for his people Israel.
