< 1 Ndị Eze 19 >

1 Ehab kọọrọ Jezebel ihe niile Ịlaịja mere, na otu o si jiri mma agha gbuo ndị amụma Baal niile.
And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
2 Nʼihi nke a, Jezebel zigara onyeozi ka ọ ga zie Ịlaịja sị, “Ka chi ndị a mesoo m mmeso, nʼagbanyeghị otu mmeso ahụ si dị njọ, ma ọ bụrụ na oge dịka oge a echi, egbughị gị dịka i si gbuo ndị amụma Baal.”
Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, So let the gods do [to me], and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to-morrow about this time.
3 Ịlaịja tụrụ egwu, gbapụ ọsọ, nʼihi ichebe ndụ ya. Mgbe ọ bịaruru Bịasheba, dị na Juda, ọ hapụrụ nwokorobịa na-ejere ya ozi nʼebe ahụ.
And when he saw [that], he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which [belongeth] to Judah, and left his servant there.
4 Ma ya onwe ya pụkwara jee ije otu ụbọchị nʼọzara naanị ya. Nʼikpeazụ, ọ kwụsịrị nọdụ ala nʼokpuru otu osisi brum, kpee ekpere rịọọ ka a napụ ya ndụ ya. Ekpere o kpere nʼoge a bụ, “O zuorela m Onyenwe anyị, biko napụ ndụ m. O nweghị ụzọ m si dị mma karịa nna nna m ha.”
But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper-tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I [am] not better than my fathers.
5 O dinara nʼokpuru osisi brum rahụ ụra. Ma lee, otu oge ahụ, mmụọ ozi metụrụ ya aka, sị ya, “Bilie, rie nri.”
And as he lay and slept under a juniper-tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said to him, Arise [and] eat.
6 Ịlaịja biliri legharịa anya, hụ ogbe achịcha na ite mmiri nta nke dị nʼakụkụ ebe ọ tụkwasịrị isi ya. O riri ogbe achịcha ahụ a hụrụ nʼicheku ọkụ, ṅụọkwa mmiri ahụ. Emesịa, o dinakwara ọzọ.
And he looked, and behold, [there was] a cake baked on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he ate and drank, and laid himself down again.
7 Mmụọ ozi nke Onyenwe anyị bịaghachikwara nke ugboro abụọ, sị ya, “Bilie rie ihe, nʼihi na ije dị gị nʼihu dị ukwuu.”
And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise [and] eat, because the journey [is] too great for thee.
8 Ịlaịja biliri rie ihe, ṅụọkwa mmiri. Nri ahụ nyere ya ike ije ije iri ụbọchị anọ ọzọ, ehihie na abalị, tutu ruo mgbe ọ bịaruru nʼugwu Horeb nke bụ ugwu Chineke.
And he arose, and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb the mount of God.
9 Nʼebe ahụ, ọ banyere nʼotu ọgba nkume rahụ ụra abalị nʼime ya. Ma okwu Onyenwe anyị rutere ya sị, “Ịlaịja, gịnị ka ị na-eme nʼebe a?”
And he came thither to a cave, and lodged there; and behold, the word of the LORD [came] to him, and he said to him, What doest thou here, Elijah?
10 Ọ zaghachiri sị, “Eji m ịnụ ọkụ nʼobi na-ejere Onyenwe anyị Chineke Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ozi. Ndị Izrel ajụla ọgbụgba ndụ gị, tidasịakwa ebe ịchụ aja gị, were mma agha gbukwaa ndị amụma gị niile, ugbu a, ọ bụ naanị mụ onwe m bụ onye fọdụrụ, ma ha na-achọkwa iwepụ ndụ m.”
And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thy altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, I only, am left; and they seek my life to take it away.
11 Onyenwe anyị sịrị ya, “Pụọ gaa guzo nʼelu ugwu, nʼihu Onyenwe anyị, nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị na-aga isite nʼebe ahụ gafee.” Mgbe ahụ, oke ifufe dị ike gbawara ugwu ahụ, tipịasịa nkume ndị ahụ nʼihu Onyenwe anyị, ma Onyenwe anyị anọghị nʼime ifufe ahụ. Mgbe ifufe ahụ gasịrị, e nwere oke ala ọma jijiji nʼugwu ahụ, ma Onyenwe anyị anọkwaghị nʼala ọma jijiji ahụ.
And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before the LORD; [but] the LORD [was] not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; [but] the LORD [was] not in the earthquake:
12 Mgbe ala ọma jijiji ahụ gasịrị, ọkụ nwuuru, ma Onyenwe anyị anọghị nʼime ọkụ ahụ. Ma mgbe ọkụ ahụ gasịrị, nwa olu nta dị nwayọọ dara.
And after the earthquake a fire; [but] the LORD [was] not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
13 Mgbe Ịlaịja nụrụ ya, o ji uwe mwụda ya kpuchie ihu ya, pụọ gaa guzo nʼọnụ ụzọ ọgba nkume ahụ. Mgbe ahụ, ọ nụrụ olu jụrụ ya sị, “Ịlaịja, gịnị ka ị na-eme nʼebe a?”
And it was [so], when Elijah heard [it], that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave. And behold, [there came] a voice to him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
14 Ọ zaghachiri sị, “Eji m ịnụ ọkụ nʼobi na-ejere Onyenwe anyị Chineke Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ozi. Ndị Izrel ajụla ọgbụgba ndụ gị, tidasịakwa ebe ịchụ aja gị, were mma agha gbukwaa ndị amụma gị niile, ugbu a ọ bụ naanị mụ onwe m bụ onye fọdụrụ, ma ha na-achọkwa iwepụ ndụ m.”
And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thy altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
15 Onyenwe anyị sịrị ya, “Sikwa ụzọ i si bịa laghachi, gaa nʼọzara Damaskọs. Mgbe i ruru ebe ahụ, tee Hazael mmanụ ịbụ eze Aram.
And the LORD said to him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael [to be] king over Syria:
16 Teekwa Jehu, nwa Nimshi mmanụ ịbụ eze Izrel. Ị ga-etekwa Ịlaisha nwa Shafat, onye Ebel-Mehola mmanụ ịbụ onye amụma nʼọnọdụ gị.
And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint [to be] king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint [to be] prophet in thy room.
17 Onye ọbụla gbanarịrị Hazael ga-anwụ nʼaka Jehu. Otu a kwa, ndị niile gbanarịrị mma agha Jehu ka Ịlaisha ga-egbu.
And it shall come to pass, [that] him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.
18 Ma ghọta na ọ dị puku mmadụ asaa nọ nʼIzrel, ndị na-egbubeghị ikpere ha nʼala nye Baal, maọbụ sutu ya ọnụ, ife ya ofufe.”
Yet I have left to [me] seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who [was] plowing [with] twelve yoke [of oxen] before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.
20 Mgbe ahụ, Ịlaisha hapụrụ ehi ndị ahụ ebe ha guzoro nʼubi ahụ gbara ọsọ gbakwuru Ịlaịja sị ya, “Biko, kwere ka m gaa sutu nna m na nne m ọnụ, sị ha nọdụ nke ọma. Emesịa, aga m esokwa gị.” Ịlaịja zara sị ya, “Laghachi azụ, ọ bụ gịnị ka m mere gị?”
And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and [then] I will follow thee. And he said to him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?
21 Ịlaisha laghachiri azụ, gbuo ehi abụọ ahụ e jikọtara nʼotu, kpọọ ihe ahụ e ji arụ ọrụ nʼubi ọkụ, were ha sie anụ ahụ nye ndị mmadụ, ha rie. Mgbe ahụ, o biliri ije pụọ ga soro Ịlaịja, bụrụ nwaodibo ya.
And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave to the people, and they ate. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered to him.
