< 1 Ndị Eze 17 >
1 Ugbu a, Ịlaịja onye Tishbe, onye si obodo Tishbe, nke dị nʼala Gilead, sịrị Ehab, “Eji m aha Onyenwe anyị Chineke Izrel dị ndụ, onye m na-efe na onye m na-ejere ozi na-agwa gị na igirigi agaghị ada, mmiri agaghị ezo ọzọ nʼafọ ndị a na-abịa karịa ma ọ bụghị naanị site nʼokwu ọnụ m!”
And Eliu the prophet, the Thesbite of Thesbae of Galaad, said to Achaab, As the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be these years dew nor rain, except by the word of my mouth.
2 Okwu Onyenwe anyị rutere Ịlaịja ntị, sị ya,
And the word of the Lord came to Eliu, [saying],
3 “Si nʼebe a pụọ. Soro ụzọ ọwụwa anyanwụ, gaa zoo onwe gị nʼakụkụ iyi Kerit, nʼakụkụ ọwụwa anyanwụ ya, nke bụ nʼihu Jọdan.
Depart hence eastward, and hide you by the brook of Chorrath, that is before Jordan.

And it shall be [that] you shall drink water of the brook, and I will charge the ravens to feed you there.
5 O mere ihe Onyenwe anyị gwara ya ka o mee. Ọ gara nʼakụkụ iyi nta Kerit nʼakụkụ ọwụwa anyanwụ Jọdan nọrọ nʼebe ahụ.
And Eliu did according to the word of the Lord, and he sat by the brook of Chorrath before Jordan.
6 Ugolọma na-ebutere ya achịcha na anụ, ụtụtụ na anyasị niile. Ọ na-aṅụkwa mmiri site nʼiyi ahụ.
And the ravens brought him loaves in the morning, and flesh in the evening and he drank water of the brook.
7 Ma mgbe ụbọchị ụfọdụ gasịrị, mmiri ahụ tara, nʼihi na mmiri adịghị ezokwa nʼala ahụ.
And it came to pass after some time, that the brook was dried up, because there had been no rain upon the earth.
8 Okwu Onyenwe anyị bịakwutere ya,
And the word of the Lord came to Eliu, [saying],
9 “Bilie, jee Zarefat, obodo dị Saịdọn nso, biri nʼebe ahụ. O nwere otu nwanyị di ya nwụrụ, onye m nyere iwu ka o nye gị nri.”
Arise, and go to Sarepta of the Sidonian [land]: behold, I have there commanded a widow-woman to maintain you.
And he arose and went to Sarepta, and came to the gate of the city: and, behold, a widow-woman was there gathering sticks; and Eliu cried after her, and said to her, Fetch me, I pray you, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11 Mgbe nwanyị ahụ na-aga ikute mmiri ahụ, Ịlaịja kpọrọ ya oku ọzọ sị ya, “Biko, wetara m otu iberibe achịcha ka m taa.”
And she went to fetch it; and Eliu cried after her, and said, Bring me, I pray you, a morsel of the bread that is in your hand.
12 Ma nwanyị ahụ zara sị ya, “Dịka Onyenwe anyị Chineke na-adị ndụ, enweghị m achịcha ọbụla nʼụlọ m. Naanị ihe m nwere bụ otu njuaka ụtụ ọka dị nʼite, na mmanụ ntakịrị dị na karama. Ugbu a, ana m achịkọta nkụ ka m baa ga siere onwe m siekwara nwa m nri, ka anyị rie, chere ọnwụ ga-abịa egburu anyị.”
And the woman said, [As] the Lord your God lives, I have not a cake, but only a handful of meal in the pitcher, and a little oil in a cruse, and, behold, I am going to gather two sticks, and I shall go in and dress it for myself and my children, and we shall eat it and die.
13 Ịlaịja sịrị ya, “Atụla egwu! Gaa mee dịka i kwuru. Ma naanị buru ụzọ meere m ogbe achịcha ntakịrị site nʼihe i nwere, wetara m ya. Emesịa, mee nke gị na nwa gị ga-eri.
And Eliu said to her, Be of good courage, go in and do according to your word: but make me thereof a little cake, and you shall bring [it] out to me first, and you shall make [some] for yourself and your children last.
14 Nʼihi na nke a bụ ihe Onyenwe anyị, Chineke Izrel kwuru, ‘Ụtụ ọka dị nʼite ahụ agaghị agwụ, mmanụ ahụ dị nʼite ahụ agakwaghị akọ tutu ruo ụbọchị ahụ Onyenwe anyị ga-ezite mmiri ozuzo nʼala a.’”
For thus says the Lord, The pitcher of meal shall not fail, and the cruse of oil shall not diminish, until the day that the Lord gives rain upon the earth.
15 Nwanyị ahụ mere dịka Ịlaịja kwuru. Sitekwa nʼụbọchị ahụ gaa nʼihu, ihe oriri akọkwaghị Ịlaịja na nwanyị ahụ, na ezinaụlọ ya.
And the woman went and did [so], and did eat, she, and he, and her children.
16 Nʼihi na ụtụ ọka ahụ agwụghị, mmanụ akọkwaghị nwanyị ahụ, dịka okwu Onyenwe anyị kwuru site nʼọnụ Ịlaịja, onye amụma.
And the pitcher of meal failed not, and the cruse of oil was not diminished, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke by the hand of Eliu.
17 Mgbe ihe ndị a gasịrị, nwa nwanyị ahụ nwe ụlọ rịara ọrịa. Ọrịa a bịara sie ike nke ukwuu na ume afọdụghị nʼime ya.
And it came to pass afterward, that the son of the woman the mistress of the house was sick; and his sickness was very severe, until there was no breath left in him.
18 Mgbe ahụ, nwanyị ahụ kwaara akwa bịakwute Ịlaịja sị ya, “Ewoo, onye nke Chineke, gịnị ka i nwere megide m? Ị bịara ka i chetara m mmehie m, na igbu nwa m nwoke?”
And she said to Eliu, What have I to do with you, O man of God? have you come in to me to bring my sins to remembrance, and to kill my son?
19 Ịlaịja zara sị ya, “Kunye m nwa gị nwoke.” Ịlaịja kuuru ya site nʼaka nne ya rigoo nʼụlọ elu ebe ya onwe ya na-edina, nibe ya nʼelu ihe ndina ya.
And Eliu said to the woman, Give me your son. And he took him out of her bosom, and took him up to the chamber in which he himself lodged, and laid him on the bed.
20 Ọ kpọkuru Onyenwe anyị sị ya, “Onyenwe anyị Chineke m, gịnị mere i ji wetara nwanyị a m bi nʼụlọ ya ihe mgbu site nʼikwe ka nwa nwoke ya nwụọ?”
And Eliu cried aloud, and said, Alas, O Lord, the witness of the widow with whom I sojourn, you have wrought evil [for her] in slaying her son.
21 Ịlaịja gbatịrị onwe ya nʼahụ nwantakịrị ahụ ugboro atọ, kpọkuo Onyenwe anyị, sị, “Biko, Onyenwe anyị Chineke m, kwere ka mkpụrụobi nwantakịrị a laghachikwute ya.”
And he breathed on the child thrice, and called on the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, let, I pray you, the soul of this child return to him.
22 Onyenwe anyị nụrụ ekpere Ịlaịja, ndụ nwantakịrị ahụ laghachikwutere ya, ọ dịkwara ndụ ọzọ.
And it was so, and the child cried out,
23 Mgbe ahụ, Ịlaịja kuuru ya si nʼụlọ elu ahụ rịdata, kunye ya nne ya, gwa ya okwu sị, “Lee, nwa gị dị ndụ!”
and he brought him down from the upper chamber into the house, and gave him to his mother; and Eliu said, See, your son lives.
24 Nwanyị ahụ sịrị Ịlaịja, “Ugbu a, amatala m na ị bụ onye nke chineke, na okwu Onyenwe anyị si nʼọnụ gị apụta bụ eziokwu.”
And the woman said to Eliu, Behold, I know that you [are] a man of God, and the word of the Lord in your mouth [is] true.
