1 Ụmụnna m, ugbu a achọrọ m ime ka unu cheta oziọma ahụ m ziri unu mgbe m buru ụzọ bịakwute unu, nke unu kweere na ya, na nke unu guzosikwara ike nʼelu ya.
But I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which you indeed received, in which you also stand,
2 E si nʼoziọma a zọpụta unu, ma ọ bụrụ na unu ejiri obi unu niile jidesie ihe unu kweere na ya ike. Inwe okwukwe nʼihe ọzọ dị iche agaghị enyere unu aka.
by which you are also saved; which word I preached to you, if you hold it fast, otherwise you believed in vain.
3 Ihe m nyefere unu nʼaka na mbụ bụ ozi ahụ m natara ị debe, nke dị oke mkpa, na Kraịst nwụrụ ọnwụ nʼihi mmehie anyị, dịka akwụkwọ nsọ kwuru na ọ ga-anwụ.
For I delivered unto you in the first place that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
and that he was buried, and that he arose on the third day according to the Scriptures;
and that he was seen by Cephas; then by the twelve.
6 Emesịakwa, o gosiri ihe karịrị narị mmadụ ise nʼime ụmụnna onwe ya, nʼotu mgbe, ọtụtụ nʼime ndị ahụ ka nọ ndụ taa, ọ bụ ezie na ụfọdụ nʼime ha adaala nʼụra ọnwụ.
Then he was seen by more than five hundred brethren at once, of whom the more remain unto this day, but some have fallen asleep.
7 Emesịa, Jemis hụrụ ya; o mekwara ka ndị ozi niile hụ ya.
Then he was seen by James; then by all the apostles.
8 Nʼikpeazụ, mụ onwe m hụkwara ya, dịka a ga-asị na m bụ nwa a na-amụghị nʼoge.
But last of all he was seen by me, as one born out of due time.
9 Nʼihi na ọ bụ m kachasị nta nʼime ndị ozi. O kwesikwaghị ka a akpọọ m onyeozi ya nʼihi na alụsoro m nzukọ Chineke ọgụ nke ukwuu.
For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace was not vain toward me; but I have labored more abundantly than they all: and not I, but the grace of God with me.
11 Ma ọ bụ m, maọbụ ndị ọzọ, otu a ka anyị siri kwusaa, otu a ka unu sikwa kwere.
Then whether I or they, so we preach, and so you believed.
12 Ma ọ bụrụ na a na-ekwusa na Kraịst si nʼọnwụ bilie, gịnị mere ụfọdụ unu ji na-ekwu na ndị nwụrụ anwụ apụghị isi nʼọnwụ bilie ọzọ.
But if Christ is preached that he is risen from the dead, how do certain ones among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 Ọ bụrụ na ndị nwụrụ anwụ a pụghị i si nʼọnwụ bilie, nke a pụtara na e meghị ka Kraịst site nʼọnwụ bilie.
but if there is no resurrection of the dead, Christ is not risen:
14 Ọ bụrụkwa na e meghị ka Kraịst si nʼọnwụ bilie, ihe anyị na-ezisa bụ ihe efu, okwukwe unu nwere bụkwa ihe efu.
but if Christ is not risen, then indeed is our preaching vain, and your faith is vain.
15 Ma karịa nke a, a na-ahụta anyị ka ndị ama ụgha nke Chineke, nʼihi na anyị gbara ama banyere Chineke, na-asị na o mere ka Kraịst si nʼọnwụ bilie, bụ onye ọ na-emeghị ka o si nʼọnwụ bilie ma ọ bụrụ na-emeghị ka ndị nwụrụ anwụ dị ndụ ọzọ.
And we are indeed found false witnesses of God; because we testified according to God that he raised Christ: whom he did not raise, if then the dead rise not.
But if the dead rise not, neither is Christ risen.
But if Christ is not risen, your faith is vain; you are yet in your sins.
18 Mgbe ahụ ndị nwụrụ anwụ nʼime Kraịst lara nʼiyi.
Then indeed those having fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
19 Ọ bụrụkwa na olileanya anyị nʼime Kraịst gwụrụ naanị na ndụ anyị nʼime ụwa a, anyị bụ ndị e kwesiri ka e mere ebere.
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.
But now Christ is risen from the dead, the firstfruit of them that slept.
21 Nʼihi na dịka ọnwụ si site nʼaka otu nwoke bịa, otu a kwa ka mbilite nʼọnwụ si site nʼaka otu nwoke bịa.
For since death was through a man, the resurrection of the dead is also through a man.
22 Dịka mmadụ niile si anwụ site nʼaka Adam, otu a kwa ka mmadụ niile ga-esi dịkwa ndụ nʼime Kraịst.
For as in Adam all die, so truly in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 Onye ọbụla ga-ebili nʼusoro nke ya, Kraịst mkpụrụ mbụ si nʼọnwụ bilie. Mgbe ọ lọghachiri, ndị niile bụ ndị nke Kraịst ga-esote.
But each one in his own rank: Christ the first-fruit; then they who are Christ's, at His coming:
24 Mgbe nke a gasịrị, ọgwụgwụ ihe niile ga-abịa, mgbe ọ ga-enyefe alaeze nʼaka Chineke bụ Nna, nʼihi na o meriela ịchị isi niile, na ikike niile na ike niile.
then the end, when he may deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when he may destroy all government, all authority and power.
25 Nʼihi na ọ ga-abụ eze tutu ruo mgbe ọ lụgburu ndị iro ya niile, doo ha nʼokpuru ụkwụ ya.
For it behooves him to reign until he may put all enemies under his feet.
26 Onye iro ikpeazụ a ga-emeri bụ ọnwụ.
Death the last enemy is destroyed.
For, he has subordinated all things beneath his feet. But when he may say, that all things have been subordinated, it is evident that the One having subordinated all things to him is excepted.
28 Mgbe e merela ka ihe niile nọrọ nʼokpuru ya, mgbe ahụ, Ọkpara ya nʼonwe ya, ga-edobe onwe ya nʼokpuru onye ahụ dobere ihe niile nʼokpuru ya, ka Chineke bụrụ onye na-achị ihe niile.
But when he may subordinate all things to him, then the Son himself will also be subordinated to him who hath subordinated all things to Himself, in order that God may be all things in all.
29 Ma ọ bụghị otu a, gịnị mere ụfọdụ ji eme ndị otu ha baptizim nʼọnọdụ ndị nwụrụ anwụ? Ọ bụrụ na e meghị ka ndị nwụrụ anwụ si nʼọnwụ bilie ma ọlị, nʼihi gịnị ka a na-eme mmadụ ndị a baptizim nʼọnọdụ ha?
Then what shall they do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead rise not at all, why are they also baptized for them?
30 Gịnị mere anyị ji nọrọ nʼize ndụ nʼoge awa ọbụla?
Why indeed are we in jeopardy every hour?
31 Nʼịgwa unu eziokwu, ụmụnna m, ana m ezute ọnwụ kwa ụbọchị. Ihe m ji kwupụta nke a bụ nʼihi ịnya isi nke m ji unu anya nʼime Jisọs Kraịst, Onyenwe anyị.
I protest by your rejoicing, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
32 Ọ bụrụ na ndụ anyị na-agwụ nʼụwa a, dịka ndị mmadụ na-ekwu, gịnị bụkwanụ uru m nwere nʼihi ọgụ m na-alụso anụ ọhịa, bụ ndị ikom Efesọs? Ọ bụrụ na a gaghị eme ka ndị nwụrụ anwụ bilie, “Ka anyị rienụ, ṅụọkwanụ, nʼihi na echi anyị ga-anwụ.”
If after the manner of men I have fought with the wild beasts in Ephesus, what profit is it to me? If the dead rise not, let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die.
33 Unu ekwela ka e duhie unu. Nʼihi na mkparịkọta agwa ọjọọ na-emebi ezi agwa.
Be not deceived: Evil communications corrupt good manners.
34 Sitenụ na ndụ enweghị nghọta unu lọghachita dịka unu kwesiri, unu emehiekwala ọzọ. Nʼihi na-enwere ụfọdụ bụ ndị na-amaghị Chineke. Ana m ekwu nke a ka ihere mee unu.
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak to your shame.
35 Ma ụfọdụ ga-ajụ, “Olee otu a ga-esi mee ka onye nwụrụ anwụ bilie? Olee ụdị ahụ ha ga-enwe mgbe ha ga-apụta?”
But one will say, How are the dead raised? and with what body do they come?
36 Onye nzuzu!
Thou foolish one, that which thou sowest, is not quickened unless it may die;
37 Mgbe ị na-agha mkpụrụ, ọ bụghị anụ ahụ nke ga-apụta ka ị na-agha, kama ọ bụ naanị mkpụrụ nkịtị, eleghị anya mkpụrụ ọka wiiti, maọbụ mkpụrụ ọzọ.
and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body that shall be, but naked grain, if it may happen to be of wheat, or of some one of the other grains;
but God gives it a body as he wished; and to each of the seeds its own body.
39 Anụ ahụ niile abụghị otu, mmadụ nwere anụ ahụ dị iche, anụ ọhịa nwere ụdị anụ ahụ nke ha. Anụ ufe nwere anụ ahụ ha, azụ nwekwara nke ha.
All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is indeed a flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fishes.
40 Ahụ nke eluigwe na ahụ nke ụwa dịkwa. Ma ịma mma na ebube nke ahụ nke eluigwe bụ otu, ịma mma na ebube nke ahụ nke ụwa dịkwa iche.
Indeed there are heavenly bodies, and there are earthly bodies: but indeed there is one glory of the heavenlies, and another glory of those upon the earth.
There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory:
42 Otu a ka ọ dị nʼebe mbilite nʼọnwụ ndị nwụrụ anwụ dị.
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 A na-eli ahụ onye nwụrụ anwụ dịka ihe enweghị ugwu, ma a na-eme ka o si nʼọnwụ bilie nʼebube. A na-eli onye nwụrụ anwụ nʼadịghị ike, ma a na-eme ka o si nʼọnwụ bilie nʼịdị ike.
it is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power.
44 A na-eli onye nwụrụ anwụ dịka anụ ahụ nkịtị, ma a na-eme ka o jiri ahụ nke mmụọ kulite. Ọ bụrụ na e nwere anụ ahụ nkịtị, e nwekwara ahụ nke mmụọ.
It is sown a psychical body; it is raised a pneumatical body. If there is a psychical body, there is also a pneumatical (body).
45 E dere ya, “Mmadụ mbụ, bụ Adam, ghọrọ mkpụrụobi dị ndụ, Adam nke ikpeazụ bụ mmụọ na-enye ndụ.”
As indeed it has been written; The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last man Adam, a life-creating spirit.
46 Ma mmụọ e bughị ụzọ, kama ọ bụ ahụ nkịtị, ma mmụọ bịara nʼikpeazụ.
But that which is spiritual was not first, but that which is animal; afterward that which is spiritual.
47 Mmadụ nke nwoke sitere nʼala, ejikwa aja kpụọ ya; mmadụ nke abụọ si nʼeluigwe bịa.
The first man was from the earth, earthy: the second man from heaven.
48 Dị ka mmadụ nke mbụ ahụ e jiri aja kpụọ dị, otu a ka ndị niile si nʼaja pụta dịkwa. Ma dị ka mmadụ nke eluigwe ahụ dị, otu a ka ndị niile bụ ụmụ eluigwe dịkwa.
As was the earthy, such are they also who are earthy; and as was the heavenly, such are they also who are heavenly.
49 Dịka anyị niile yikwasịrị onyinyo nke nwoke e jiri aja kpụọ, otu ahụkwa ka anyị ga-esi yikwasị onyinyo nke nwoke nke eluigwe.
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we must also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Ihe m na-ekwu, ụmụnna m, bụ na anụ ahụ na ọbara enweghị ike iketa alaeze Chineke. Ihe na-ere ure agaghịkwa eketa ereghị ure.
But I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood are not able to inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Ma geenụ ntị ka m gwa unu ihe omimi a! Ọ bụghị anyị niile na-aga ịnwụ, kama, a ga-enye anyị anụ ahụ ọhụrụ nke pụrụ iche.
Behold, I speak to you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 Nʼotu mgbe, nʼotu ntabi anya, mgbe a ga-afụ opi ike ikpeazụ. A ga-agbanwekwa anyị.
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 Nʼihi na a ghaghị ịgbanwe anụ ahụ anyị a nke na-anwụ anwụ, nyekwa anyị ahụ nke na-agaghị anwụ ọzọ.
For it behooves this corruptible to put on incorruption, and this mortal to put on immortality.
54 Mgbe ahụ nke a pụrụ ire ure ga-eyikwasị ereghị ure, nke a pụrụ ịnwụ anwụ ga-eyikwasị anwụghị anwụ. Mgbe ahụ, okwu ahụ e dere nʼakwụkwọ nsọ ga-emezu, okwu ahụ sịrị, “Elomiela ọnwụ, meriekwa ike ya niile.”
But when this corruptible may put on incorruption, and this mortal may put on immorality, then shall the word which has been written be fulfilled, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 “Ọnwụ, olee ebe mmeri gị dị? Ọnwụ, olee ebe ihe ụfụ gị dị?” (Hadēs g86)
O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting? (Hadēs g86)
56 Nʼihi na ihe ahụ ọnwụ ji agbata mmadụ bụ mmehie, ma ihe na-enye mmehie ike bụ iwu.
But the sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law.
57 Ka ekele dịrị Chineke onye na-enye anyị mmeri site nʼOnyenwe anyị Jisọs Kraịst.
But thanks be unto God, who gives us our victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Ya mere, ụmụnna m ndị m hụrụ nʼanya, kwụsienụ ike, bụrụnụ akwaa akwụrụ. Nọgidenụ nʼọrụ Onyenwe anyị mgbe niile, ebe unu maara na ọrụ unu na-arụ nʼime Onyenwe anyị abụghị ihe efu.
So, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
