< 1 Ihe E Mere 23 >
1 Mgbe Devid ghọrọ nnọọ agadi, ụbọchị ndụ ya jukwara ya afọ, o mere Solomọn nwa ya, eze Izrel.
Now, David, was old, and satisfied with days, —so he made Solomon his son king, over Israel;
2 Nʼoge a, ọ kpọkọtara ndị ndu Izrel niile, tinyekwara ndị nchụaja na ndị Livayị.
and gathered together all the rulers of Israel, with the priests, and the Levites.
3 A gụrụ ndị Livayị niile ọnụ, bụ ndị gbara iri afọ atọ gbagoo, chọpụta na ha dị iri puku ndị ikom atọ na asatọ nʼọnụọgụgụ.
Now the Levites were numbered, from thirty years old and upwards, —and their number by their polls, of mature men, was thirty-eight thousand.
4 Devid sịrị, “Nʼime ndị a, ka iri puku ndị ikom abụọ na anọ bụrụ ndị ga-ahụ maka ọrụ ụlọnsọ ukwu Onyenwe anyị, puku ndị ikom isii a bụrụ ndịisi na ndị ikpe,
Of these—to preside over the work of the house of Yahweh, were twenty-four thousand, —and officers and judges, six thousand;
5 puku ndị ikom anọ abụrụ ndị nche ọnụ ụzọ ama, ebe puku ndị ikom anọ ndị ọzọ ga-eji ihe egwu dị iche iche nke m kwadobere maka ito Onyenwe anyị, na-eto ya.”
and four thousand, were doorkeepers, —and, four thousand, were offerers of praise unto Yahweh, with instruments, which [said David] I made for offering praise.
6 Devid kewara ndị Livayị nʼoke, nʼoke dịka ụmụ ndị ikom Livayị si dị: Geshọn, Kohat na Merari.
And David divided them into courses, —pertaining to the sons of Levi, to Gershon, Kohath and Merari.
7 E kekwara ikwu Geshọn ụzọ abụọ dịka ụmụ ya si dị, Ladan na Shimei.
Of the Gershonites, Ladan and Shimei.
8 Ndị sitere nʼezinaụlọ Ladan dị ndị ikom atọ: Jehiel, onyeisi ha, Zetam na Juel.
The sons of Ladan, the chief Jehiel, and Zetham and Joel, three.
9 Ụmụ Shimei bụ, Shelomot, Haziel na Haran, ha dị ndị ikom atọ. Ndị a niile bụ ndịisi ezinaụlọ nʼikwu Ladan.
The sons of Shimei, Shelomoth and Haziel and Haran, three, —these, were the ancestral chiefs of Ladan.
10 Ụmụ Shimei bụ, Jahat, Ziza, Jeush na Beriya. Ha dị ndị ikom anọ.
And, the sons of Shimei, Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah, —these, were the sons of Shimei, four.
And Jahath was chief, and Zizah the second, —but, Jeush and Beriah, had not many sons, so they became an ancestral house, by one reckoning.
12 Ụmụ ndị ikom Kohat bụ Amram, Izha, Hebrọn na Uziel. Ha dị ndị ikom anọ.
The sons of Kohath, Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
13 Ụmụ ndị ikom Amram bụ, Erọn na Mosis. Erọn ka e kewapụrụ iche, ido ya nsọ ya na ụmụ ya ruo ebighị ebi, maka ido ihe niile kachasị nsọ nsọ, ịchụ aja nʼihu Onyenwe anyị, ije ozi nʼihu ya nakwa ikwupụta ngọzị nʼaha ya ruo ebighị ebi.
The sons of Amram, Aaron and Moses, —and Aaron was separated, to hallow the holy of holies, he and his sons, unto times age-abiding, to make a perfume before Yahweh, to be in attendance upon him, and to bless in his name, unto times age-abiding;
14 Ụmụ Mosis, onye nke Chineke ka a gụnyekọtara dịka ndị si nʼebo Livayị.
and, as for Moses, the man of God, his sons, were called unto the tribe of Levi.
15 Ụmụ ndị ikom Mosis bụ, Geshọm na Elieza.
The sons of Moses, were Gershom, and Eliezer.
16 Ụmụ ndị ikom Geshọm bụ Shubuel, onye mbụ.
the sons of Gershom, were Shebuel the chief;
17 Ụmụ ụmụ Elieza bụ Rehabaya onye mbụ. Elieza amụtaghị ụmụ ndị ikom ọzọ, ma ụmụ ndị ikom Rohabaya dị ọtụtụ.
and the sons of Eliezer were Rehabiah the chief, —and Eliezer had no other sons, but, the sons of Rehabiah, were very many.
18 Ụmụ ndị ikom Izha bụ Shelomit onye mbụ.
The sons of Izhar, Shelomith the chief.
19 Ụmụ ndị ikom Hebrọn bụ Jereaya onye mbụ, na Amaraya, onye nke abụọ, Jahaziel onye nke atọ, na Jekameam, onye nke anọ.
The sons of Hebron, Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jehaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20 Ụmụ ndị ikom Uziel bụ Maịka, onye mbụ, na Ishaya, onye nke abụọ.
The sons of Uzziel, Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
21 Ụmụ ndị ikom Merari bụ Mahali na Mushi Ụmụ ndị ikom Mali bụ Elieza na Kish
The sons of Merari, were Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli, were Eleazar and Kish.
22 Elieza nwụrụ na-amụtaghị ụmụ ndị ikom. Ọ bụ naanị ụmụ ndị inyom ka ọ mụtara. Ụmụ nwanne nna ha, ụmụ ndị ikom Kish, lụrụ ha.
But Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only, —and so the sons of Kish their brethren took them.
23 Ụmụ ndị ikom Mushi bụ Mahali, Eda na Jeremot. Ha dị ndị ikom atọ.
The sons of Mushi, were Mahli and Eder and Jeremoth, three.
These, were the sons of Levi by their ancestral house, the ancestral chiefs of them who were counted in the number of their names, by their polls, doing the work, for the service of the house of Yahweh, —from twenty years old, and upwards.
For, said David, Yahweh the God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, —and hath taken up his habitation in Jerusalem, unto times age-abiding;
26 Ugbu a, ọ dịkwaghị mkpa ọ dị na ndị Livayị ga na-ebugharị ụlọ ikwu, maọbụ ngwongwo ọbụla nke ije ozi niile ya.”
moreover also, as for the Levites, they have no need to bear the habitation, nor any of its vessels in the laborious work thereof.
27 Ịgụ ndị Livayị ọnụ bụ otu nʼime ihe ikpeazụ Devid mere tupu ọ nwụọ. A gụrụ ndị Livayị gbara iri afọ abụọ gbagoo ọnụ.
For, by the last words of David, the same, were the number of the sons of Levi, —from twenty years old, and upwards.
28 Ọrụ e nyere ndị Livayị niile bụ inyere ụmụ Erọn ndị nchụaja aka nʼofufe nʼụlọnsọ ukwu Onyenwe anyị: ilekọta ogige, na ọnụụlọ nta ndị dị nʼakụkụ ya niile, na ime ka ihe nsọ niile dị ọcha, na ịrụ ọrụ ọbụla e nyere ha nʼụlọ Chineke.
For, their duty, was—to be in attendance upon the sons of Aaron, in the laborious work of the house of Yahweh, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the purifying of everything holy, —and doing the laborious work, of the house of God;
29 Ọ bụkwa ọrụ ha iwebata achịcha a na-eche nʼihu Chineke, na ụtụ ọka e ji enye onyinye mkpụrụ ọka, na achịcha mbadamba a na-ejighị ihe na-eko achịcha mee.
and for the bread set in array, and for the fine meal for the meal-offering, and for the unleavened cakes, even for that which is baked in a pan, for the moistened food, —even of every measure, and size;
30 Ụtụtụ ọbụla, na anyasị ọbụla, ọ bụ ọrụ ha iguzo nʼihu Onyenwe anyị ịbụ abụ otuto, na ekele.
and to stand, morning by morning, to give thanks and offer praise unto Yahweh, —and, likewise, at even;
31 Ha na-enyekwa aka nʼihe gbasara aja nsure ọkụ a na-achụ nʼụbọchị izuike, na nʼoge mmemme ọnwa ọhụrụ, na mmemme ndị ọzọ niile a kara aka.
and for all the offering of ascending-sacrifices unto Yahweh, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts, —by number, according to the manner prescribed for them continually, before Yahweh; —
and they shall keep the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron, their brethren, —in the laborious work of the house of Yahweh.
