Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David with cedar trees, masons, and carpenters, to build him a house.
2 Devid ghọtara na Onyenwe anyị emeela ka o guzosie ike dịka eze ndị Izrel, na ebuliela alaeze ya elu nke ukwuu nʼihi ndị ya Izrel.
David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, for his kingdom was highly exalted, for his people Israel’s sake.
3 Devid lụrụ ndị inyom ọzọ mgbe o jere biri na Jerusalem. Nke a mere ka ọ mụọ ọtụtụ ụmụ nwoke na ụmụ nwanyị.
David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David became the father of more sons and daughters.
4 Ndị a bụkwa aha ụmụ a mụụrụ ya nʼebe ahụ: Shamua, Shobab, Netan, Solomọn,
These are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,
5 Ibha, Elishua, Elpelet,
Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,
7 Elishama, Beeliada na Elifelet.
Elishama, Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
8 Mgbe ndị Filistia nụrụ na eteela Devid mmanụ ị bụ eze ndị Izrel niile, ha pụrụ nʼigwe ha ịchọ ya. Ma Devid nụrụ maka ya, jikere pụọ izute ha.
When the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went out against them.
9 Ma ndị Filistia bịara, bukọrọ ihe niile dị na Ndagwurugwu Refaim.
Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the valley of Rephaim.
10 Devid jụrụ Chineke ase sị, “Ọ bụ m gaa buso ndị Filistia agha? Ị ga-enyefe ha nʼaka m?” Onyenwe anyị zara sị ya, “Gaa, aga m enyefe ha nʼaka gị.”
David enquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” The LORD said to him, “Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand.”
11 Ya mere, Devid na ndị ikom ya gara Baal-Perazim, meriekwa ha nʼebe ahụ. O kwuru sị, “Chineke enupula megide ndị iro m site nʼaka m, dịka idee mmiri si enupu.” Nʼihi ya, a kpọrọ ebe ahụ Baal Perazim.
So they came up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like waters breaking out. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.
12 Ndị Filistia hapụrụ chi niile ha nʼebe ahụ, Devid nyere iwu ka e suo ha niile ọkụ.
They left their gods there; and David gave a command, and they were burnt with fire.
13 Ndị Filistia bukwara agha bịa na ndagwurugwu ahụ ọzọ.
The Philistines made another raid in the valley.
14 Nʼihi nke a, Devid jụrụ Chineke ase ọzọ. Chineke sịrị ya, “Esitekwala nʼihu buso ha agha, kama gbaa ha gburugburu, buso ha agha na ncherita ihu osisi balsam ndị ahụ.
David enquired again of God; and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them. Turn away from them, and come on them opposite the mulberry trees.
15 Ngwangwa ị nụrụ ụda ikiri ụkwụ nʼelu osisi balsam ndị ahụ, mgbe ahụ ka unu ga-apụ ibu agha, nʼihi na nke a pụtara na Chineke eburula unu ụzọ pụọ, itigbu ndị agha Filistia.”
When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then go out to battle; for God has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”
16 Devid mere dịka Chineke nyere ya nʼiwu. Ha tigburu ndị agha Filistia site na Gibiọn ruo Gaza.
David did as God commanded him; and they attacked the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.
17 Ya mere, aha Devid bidoro na-ewu ewu; Onyenwe anyị tinyekwara ụjọ ya nʼobi mba niile.
The fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him on all nations.
