Zsoltárok 90

1 Mózesnek, az Isten emberének imádsága. Uram, te voltál nékünk hajlékunk nemzedékről nemzedékre!

A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, a habitation Thou — Thou hast been, To us — in generation and generation,

2 Minekelőtte hegyek lettek és föld és világ formáltaték, öröktől fogva mindörökké te vagy Isten.

Before mountains were brought forth, And Thou dost form the earth and the world, Even from age unto age Thou [art] God.

3 Te visszatéríted a halandót a porba, és ezt mondod: Térjetek vissza embernek fiai!

Thou turnest man unto a bruised thing, And sayest, Turn back, ye sons of men.

4 Mert ezer esztendő annyi előtted, mint a tegnapi nap, a mely elmúlt, és mint egy őrjárási idő éjjel.

For a thousand years in Thine eyes [are] as yesterday, For it passeth on, yea, a watch by night.

5 Elragadod őket; olyanokká lesznek, mint az álom; mint a fű, a mely reggel sarjad;

Thou hast inundated them, they are asleep, In the morning as grass he changeth.

6 Reggel virágzik és sarjad, és estvére elhervad és megszárad.

In the morning it flourisheth, and hath changed, At evening it is cut down, and hath withered.

7 Bizony megemésztetünk a te haragod által, és a te búsulásod miatt megromlunk!

For we were consumed in Thine anger, And in Thy fury we have been troubled.

8 Elédbe vetetted a mi álnokságainkat; titkos bűneinket a te orczádnak világa elé.

Thou hast set our iniquities before Thee, Our hidden things at the light of Thy face,

9 Bizony elmúlik minden mi napunk a te bosszúállásod miatt; megemésztjük a mi esztendeinket, mint a beszédet.

For all our days pined away in Thy wrath, We consumed our years as a (meditation)

10 A mi esztendeinknek napjai hetven esztendő, vagy ha feljebb, nyolczvan esztendő, és nagyobb részök nyomorúság és fáradság, a mely gyorsan tovatünik, mintha repülnénk.

Days of our years, in them [are] seventy years, And if, by reason of might, eighty years, Yet [is] their enlargement labour and vanity, For it hath been cut off hastily, and we fly away.

11 Ki tudhatja a te haragodnak erejét, és a te félelmetességed szerint való bosszúállásodat?

Who knoweth the power of Thine anger? And according to Thy fear — Thy wrath?

12 Taníts minket úgy számlálni napjainkat, hogy bölcs szívhez jussunk.

To number our days aright let [us] know, And we bring the heart to wisdom.

13 Térj vissza Uram! meddig késel? és könyörülj a te szolgáidon.

Turn back, O Jehovah, till when? And repent concerning Thy servants.

14 Jó reggel elégíts meg minket a te kegyelmeddel, hogy örvendezzünk és vígadjunk minden mi időnkben.

Satisfy us at morn [with] Thy kindness, And we sing and rejoice all our days.

15 Vidámíts meg minket a mi nyomorúságunk napjaihoz képest, az esztendőkhöz képest, a melyekben gonoszt láttunk.

Cause us to rejoice according to the days Wherein Thou hast afflicted us, The years we have seen evil.

16 Láttassék meg a te műved a te szolgáidon, és a te dicsőséged azoknak fiain.

Let Thy work appear unto Thy servants, And Thine honour on their sons.

17 És legyen az Úrnak, a mi Istenünknek jó kedve mi rajtunk, és a mi kezünknek munkáját tedd állandóvá nékünk, és a mi kezünknek munkáját tedd állandóvá!

And let the pleasantness of Jehovah our God be upon us, And the work of our hands establish on us, Yea, the work of our hands establish it!
