1 Salamoné. Isten, a te ítéletidet add a királynak, és a te igazságodat a király fiának.
“By Solomon.” O God, give unto the king thy decisions, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.
2 Hadd ítélje népedet igazsággal, és a te szegényeidet méltányossággal.
He shall decide for thy people with righteousness, and for thy afflicted with justice.
3 Teremjenek a hegyek békességet a népnek, és a halmok igazságot.
The mountains shall bear peace for the people, and the hills [the same], through righteousness.
4 Legyen birája a nép szegényeinek, segítsen a szűkölködőnek fiain, és törje össze az erőszakoskodót.
He shall judge the afflicted of the people, he shall give help to the children of the needy; but he shall crush the oppressor.
5 Féljenek téged, a míg a nap áll és a meddig a hold fénylik, nemzedékről nemzedékre.
They shall fear thee as long as the sun shineth, and in the presence of the moon, throughout all generations.
6 Szálljon alá, mint eső a rétre, mint zápor, a mely megöntözi a földet.
He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass, as showers which are dropping on the earth.
7 Virágozzék az ő idejében az igaz és a béke teljessége, a míg nem lesz a hold.
In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace [shall be] till the moon shall be no more.
8 És uralkodjék egyik tengertől a másik tengerig, és a nagy folyamtól a föld határáig.
And he shall have dominion from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
9 Boruljanak le előtte a pusztalakók, és nyalják ellenségei a port.
Before him shall bend down those that dwell in the wilderness; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
10 Tarsis és a szigetek királyai hozzanak ajándékot; Seba és Szeba királyai adománynyal járuljanak elé.
The kings of Tharshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
11 Hajoljanak meg előtte mind a királyok, és minden nemzet szolgáljon néki.
Yea, there shall bow down before him all kings: all nations shall serve him.
12 Mert megszabadítja a kiáltó szűkölködőt; a nyomorultat, a kinek nincs segítője.
For he will deliver the needy when he crieth; the afflicted also, who hath no helper.
13 Könyörül a szegényen és szűkölködőn, s a szűkölködők lelkét megszabadítja;
He will spare the poor and needy; and the souls of the needy will he assist.
14 Az elnyomástól és erőszaktól megmenti lelköket, és vérök drága az ő szemében.
From wrong and violence will he deliver their soul; and precious shall their blood be in his eyes.
15 És éljen ő és adjanak néki Seba aranyából; imádkozzanak érte szüntelen, és áldják őt minden napon.
And he shall live; and he will give him of the gold of Sheba: and he will pray in his behalf continually; all the time will he bless him.
16 Bő gabona legyen az országban a hegyek tetején is; rengjen gyümölcse, mint a Libanon, s viruljon a városok népe, mint a földnek füve.
There shall be an abundance of corn in the land; upon the top of the mountains its fruit shall shake like [the trees of] Lebanon; and [men] shall blossom out of the city like herbs of the earth.
17 Tartson neve mindörökké; viruljon neve, míg a nap lesz; vele áldják magokat mind a nemzetek, és magasztalják őt.
His name will endure for ever; in the presence of the sun his name shall flourish: and men shall bless themselves with him: all nations shall call him happy.
18 Áldott az Úr Isten, Izráelnek Istene, a ki csudadolgokat cselekszik egyedül!
Blessed be the Lord the God, the God of Israel, who alone doth wondrous things.
19 Áldott legyen az ő dicsőséges neve mindörökké, és teljék be dicsőségével az egész föld. Ámen! Ámen!
And blessed he his glorious name for ever; and with his glory may the whole earth be filled: Amen, and Amen.
20 Itt végződnek Dávidnak, az Isai fiának könyörgései.
