Zsoltárok 16
1 Dávid miktámja. Tarts meg engem Istenem, mert benned bízom.
God, protect me because I go to you to keep me safe!
2 Ezt mondom az Úrnak: Én Uram vagy te; feletted való jóm nincsen.
I said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord; all the good things that I have come from you.”
3 A szentekben, a kik e földön vannak és a felségesekben, bennök van minden gyönyörűségem.
Your people who live in this land are wonderful; I delight to be with them.
4 Megsokasodnak fájdalmaik, a kik más isten után sietnek; nem áldozom meg véres italáldozatjokat és nem veszem nevöket ajkaimra.
Those who choose to worship other gods will have many things that cause them to be sad. I will not join them when they make sacrifices [to their gods]; I will not even join them when they speak [MTY] the names of their gods.
5 Az Úr az én osztályos részem és poharam; te támogatod az én sorsomat.
Yahweh, you are the one whom I have chosen, and you give me great blessings. You protect me and control what happens to me.
6 Az én részem kies helyre esett, nyilván szép örökség jutott nékem.
Yahweh has given me a wonderful place in which to live; I am delighted with all the things that he has given me [MET].
7 Áldom az Urat, a ki tanácsot adott nékem; még éjjel is oktatnak engem az én veséim.
I will praise Yahweh, the one who teaches/disciplines me; even at night [he] you put in my mind what is right for me to do.
8 Az Úrra néztem szüntelen; mert jobb kezem felől van, meg nem rendülök.
I know that Yahweh is always with me. He is beside me; so nothing will (perturb me/cause me to be worried).
9 Azért örül az én szívem és örvendez az én lelkem; testem is biztosságban lakozik.
Therefore I am glad and I [MTY, DOU] rejoice; I can rest securely
10 Mert nem hagyod lelkemet a Seolban; nem engeded, hogy a te szented rothadást lásson. (Sheol h7585)
because you, Yahweh, will not allow my soul/spirit to remain in the place where the dead people are; you will not allow me, your godly one, to stay there. (Sheol h7585)
11 Te tanítasz engem az élet ösvényére, teljes öröm van tenálad; a te jobbodon gyönyörűségek vannak örökké.
You will show me the road that leads to [receiving eternal] life, and you will make me joyful when I am with you. I will have pleasure forever when I am (at your right hand/seated next to you).
