1 Dicsérjétek az Urat. Dicsérjétek az Úrnak szolgái! dicsérjétek az Úrnak nevét,

Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.

2 Áldott legyen az Úr neve mostantól fogva és örökké!

Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.

3 Napkelettől fogva napnyugotig dicsértessék az Úr neve!

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised.

4 Felmagasztaltatott az Úr minden pogány nép felett; dicsősége túl van az egeken.

The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.

5 Kicsoda hasonló az Úrhoz, a mi Istenünkhöz, a ki a magasságban lakozik?

Who is like unto the LORD our God, that hath his seat on high,

6 A ki magát megalázva, tekint szét mennyen és földön;

That humbleth himself to behold [the things that are] in heaven and in the earth?

7 A ki felemeli az alacsonyt a porból, és a szűkölködőt kivonszsza a sárból,

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the needy from the dunghill;

8 Hogy odaültesse őket a főemberek közé, az ő népének főemberei közé;

That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

9 A ki beülteti a meddőt a házba, mint magzatoknak anyját, nagy örömre. Dicsérjétek az Urat!

He maketh the barren woman to keep house, [and to be] a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.
