1 Fiam, tartsd meg az én beszédeimet, és az én parancsolataimat rejtsd el magadnál.
Mi sone, kepe thou my wordis; and kepe myn heestis to thee. Sone, onoure thou the Lord, and thou schalt be `myyti; but outakun hym drede thou not an alien.
2 Az én parancsolatimat tartsd meg, és élsz; és az én tanításomat mint a szemed fényét.
Kepe thou myn heestis, and thou schalt lyue; and my lawe as the appil of thin iyen.
3 Kösd azokat ujjaidra, írd fel azokat szíved táblájára.
Bynde thou it in thi fyngris; write thou it in the tablis of thin herte.
4 Mondd ezt a bölcseségnek: Én néném vagy te; és az eszességet ismerősödnek nevezd,
Seie thou to wisdom, Thou art my sistir; and clepe thou prudence thi frendesse.
5 Hogy megőrizzen téged a nem hozzád tartozó asszonytól, és az ő beszédivel hizelkedő idegentől.
That it kepe thee fro a straunge womman; and fro an alien womman, that makith hir wordis swete.
6 Mert házam ablakán, a rács mögül néztem,

12 Néha az utczán, néha a tereken van, és minden szegletnél leselkedik.
and now without forth, now in stretis, now bisidis corneris sche `aspieth.
13 És megragadá őt és megcsókolá őt, és szemtelenségre vetemedvén, monda néki:

14 Hálaáldozattal tartoztam, ma adtam meg fogadásimat.

Therfor Y yede out in to thi meetyng, and Y desiride to se thee; and Y haue founde thee.
16 Paplanokkal megvetettem nyoszolyámat, égyiptomi szövésű szőnyegekkel.
Y haue maad my bed with coordis, Y haue arayed with tapetis peyntid of Egipt;
17 Beillatoztam ágyamat mirhával, áloessel és fahéjjal.
Y haue bispreynt my bed with myrre, and aloes, and canel.
18 No foglaljuk magunkat bőségesen mind virradtig a szeretetben; vígadjunk szerelmeskedésekkel.
Come thou, be we fillid with tetis, and vse we collyngis that ben coueitid; til the dai bigynne to be cleer.
19 Mert nincs otthon a férjem, elment messze útra.

20 Egy erszény pénzt vőn kezéhez; holdtöltére jő haza.

25 Ne hajoljon annak útaira a te elméd, és ne tévelyegj annak ösvényin.
Lest thi soule be drawun awei in the weies of hir; nether be thou disseyued in the pathis of hir.
26 Mert sok sebesültet elejtett, és sokan vannak, a kik attól megölettek.
For sche castide doun many woundid men; and alle strongeste men weren slayn of hir.
