Példabeszédek 15
1 Az engedelmes felelet elfordítja a harag felgerjedését; a megbántó beszéd pedig támaszt haragot.
A soft answer turneth back fury, And a grievous word raiseth up anger.
2 A bölcsek nyelve beszél jó tudományt: a tudatlanoknak száján pedig bolondság buzog ki.
The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge good, And the mouth of fools uttereth folly.
3 Minden helyeken vannak az Úrnak szemei, nézvén a jókat és gonoszokat.
In every place are the eyes of Jehovah, Watching the evil and the good.
4 A nyelv szelídsége életnek fája; az abban való hamisság pedig a léleknek gyötrelme.
A healed tongue [is] a tree of life, And perverseness in it — a breach in the spirit.
5 A bolond megútálja az ő atyjának tanítását; a ki pedig megbecsüli a dorgálást, igen eszes.
A fool despiseth the instruction of his father, And whoso is regarding reproof is prudent.
6 Az igaznak házában nagy kincs van; az istentelennek jövedelmében pedig háborúság.
[In] the house of the righteous [is] abundant strength, And in the increase of the wicked — trouble.
7 A bölcseknek ajkaik hintegetnek tudományt; a bolondoknak pedig elméje nem helyes.
The lips of the wise scatter knowledge, And the heart of fools [is] not right.
8 Az istentelenek áldozatja gyűlölséges az Úrnak; az igazak könyörgése pedig kedves néki.
The sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to Jehovah, And the prayer of the upright [is] His delight.
9 Utálat az Úrnál az istentelennek úta; azt pedig, a ki követi az igazságot, szereti.
An abomination to Jehovah [is] the way of the wicked, And whoso is pursuing righteousness He loveth.
10 Gonosz dorgálás jő arra, a ki útját elhagyja; a ki gyűlöli a fenyítéket, meghal.
Chastisement [is] grievous to him who is forsaking the path, Whoso is hating reproof dieth.
Sheol and destruction [are] before Jehovah, Surely also the hearts of the sons of men. (Sheol h7585)
12 Nem szereti a csúfoló a feddést, és a bölcsekhez nem megy.
A scorner loveth not his reprover, Unto the wise he goeth not.
13 A vidám elme megvidámítja az orczát; de a szívnek bánatja miatt a lélek megszomorodik.
A joyful heart maketh glad the face, And by grief of heart is the spirit smitten.
14 Az eszesnek elméje keresi a tudományt; a tudatlanok szája pedig legel bolondságot.
The heart of the intelligent seeketh knowledge, And the mouth of fools enjoyeth folly.
15 Minden napjai a szegénynek nyomorúságosak; a vidám elméjűnek pedig szüntelen lakodalma van.
All the days of the afflicted [are] evil, And gladness of heart [is] a perpetual banquet.
16 Jobb a kevés az Úrnak félelmével, mint a temérdek kincs, a hol háborúság van.
Better [is] a little with the fear of Jehovah, Than much treasure, and tumult with it.
17 Jobb a paréjnak étele, a hol szeretet van, mint a hízlalt ökör, a hol van gyűlölség.
Better [is] an allowance of green herbs and love there, Than a fatted ox, and hatred with it.
18 A haragos férfiú szerez háborúságot; a hosszútűrő pedig lecsendesíti a háborgást.
A man of fury stirreth up contention, And the slow to anger appeaseth strife.
19 A restnek útja olyan, mint a tövises sövény; az igazaknak pedig útja megegyengetett.
The way of the slothful [is] as a hedge of briers, And the path of the upright is raised up.
20 A bölcs fiú örvendezteti az atyját; a bolond ember pedig megútálja az anyját.
A wise son rejoiceth a father. And a foolish man is despising his mother.
21 A bolondság öröme az esztelennek; de az értelmes férfiú igazán jár.
Folly is joy to one lacking heart, And a man of intelligence directeth [his] going.
22 Hiábavalók lesznek a gondolatok, mikor nincs tanács; de a tanácsosok sokaságában előmennek.
Without counsel [is] the making void of purposes, And in a multitude of counsellors it is established.
23 Öröme van az embernek szája feleletében; és az idejében mondott beszéd, oh mely igen jó!
Joy [is] to a man in the answer of his mouth, And a word in its season — how good!
24 Az életnek úta felfelé van az értelmes ember számára, hogy eltávozzék a pokoltól, mely aláfelé van. (Sheol h7585)
A path of life [is] on high for the wise, To turn aside from Sheol beneath. (Sheol h7585)
25 A kevélyeknek házát kiszakgatja az Úr; megerősíti pedig az özvegynek határát.
The house of the proud Jehovah pulleth down, And He setteth up the border of the widow.
26 Útálatosak az Úrnak a gonosz gondolatok; de kedvesek a tiszta beszédek.
An abomination to Jehovah [are] thoughts of wickedness, And pure [are] sayings of pleasantness.
27 Megháborítja az ő házát, a ki követi a telhetetlenséget; a ki pedig gyűlöli az ajándékokat, él az.
A dishonest gainer is troubling his house, And whoso is hating gifts liveth.
28 Az igaznak elméje meggondolja, mit szóljon; az istenteleneknek pedig szája ontja a gonoszt.
The heart of the righteous meditateth to answer, And the mouth of the wicked uttereth evil things.
29 Messze van az Úr az istentelenektől; az igazaknak pedig könyörgését meghallgatja.
Far [is] Jehovah from the wicked, And the prayer of the righteous He heareth.
30 A szemek világa megvidámítja a szívet; a jó hír megerősíti a csontokat.
The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart, A good report maketh fat the bone.
31 A mely fül hallgatja az életnek dorgálását, a bölcsek között lakik.
An ear that is hearing the reproof of life Doth lodge among the wise.
32 A ki elvonja magát az erkölcsi tanítástól, megútálja az ő lelkét; a ki pedig hallgatja a feddést, értelmet szerez.
Whoso is refusing instruction is despising his soul, And whoso is hearing reproof Is getting understanding.
33 Az Úrnak félelme a bölcseségnek tudománya, és a tisztességnek előtte jár az alázatosság.
The fear of Jehovah [is] the instruction of wisdom, And before honour [is] humility!
