4 Mózes 25
1 Mikor pedig Sittimben lakozik vala Izráel, kezde a nép paráználkodni Moáb leányaival.
Forsothe in that tyme Israel dwellide in Sechym; and the puple dide fornycacioun with the douytris of Moab;
2 Mert hívogaták a népet az ő isteneik áldozataira; és evék a nép, és imádá azoknak isteneit.
whiche douytris clepiden hem to her sacrifices, and thei eten, and worschipiden the goddis of tho douytris;
3 És odaszegődék Izráel Bál-Peórhoz; az Úr haragja pedig felgerjede Izráel ellen.
and Israel made sacrifice to Belphegor. And the Lord was wrooth,
4 És monda az Úr Mózesnek: Vedd elő e népnek minden főemberét, és akasztasd fel őket az Úrnak fényes nappal; hogy elforduljon az Úr haragjának gerjedezése Izráeltől.
and seide to Moises, Take thou alle the princes of the puple, and hange hem ayens the sunne in iebatis, that my wodnesse, `that is stronge veniaunce, be turned awai fro Israel.
5 Monda azért Mózes Izráel bíráinak: Kiki ölje meg az ő embereit, a kik odaszegődtek Bál-Peórhoz.
And Moises seide to the iugis of Israel, Ech man sle his neiyboris, that maden sacrifice to Belphagor.
6 És ímé eljöve valaki Izráel fiai közül, és hoza az ő atyjafiai felé egy midiánbeli asszonyt, Mózes szeme láttára, és Izráel fiai egész gyülekezetének láttára; ők pedig sírnak vala a gyülekezet sátorának nyilásánál.
And, lo! oon of the sones of Israel entride bifor his britheren to `an hoore of Madian, in the siyt of Moises, and al the cumpeny of the sones of Israel, whiche wepten bifor the yatis of the tabernacle.
7 És mikor látta vala Fineás, Eleázár fia, Áron papnak unokája, felkele a gyülekezet közül, és dárdáját vevé kezébe.
And whanne Phynees, the sone of Eleazar, sone of Aaron, preest, hadde seyn this, he roos fro the myddis of the multitude; and whanne he hadde take a swerd,
8 És beméne az izráelita férfi után a sátorba, és általdöfé mindkettőjöket, mind az izráelita férfit, mind az asszonyt hason. És megszünék a csapás Izráel fiai között.
he entride aftir the man of Israel in to the `hoore hows, and stikide thorou both togidere, that is, the man and the womman, in the places of gendryng. And the veniaunce ceesside fro the sones of Israel,
9 De meghaltak vala a csapás miatt huszonnégy ezeren.
and foure and twenti thousand of men weren slayn.
10 Akkor szóla az Úr Mózesnek, mondván:
And the Lord seide to Moises,
11 Fineás, Eleázár fia, Áron pap unokája, elfordította az én haragomat Izráel fiaitól, mivelhogy az én bosszúmat megállotta ő közöttök; ezért nem pusztítom ki bosszúmban Izráel fiait.
Fynees, the sone of Eleazar, sone of Aaron, preest, turnede away myn yre fro the sones of Israel; for he was stirid ayens hem bi my feruent loue, that Y my silf schulde not do awai the sones of Israel in my greet hete, `ether strong veniaunce.
12 Mondd azért: Ímé én az én szövetségemet, a békesség szövetségét adom ő néki.
Therfor speke thou to hym, Lo! Y yyue to hym the pees of my couenaunt,
13 És lészen ő nála és az ő magvánál ő utána az örökkévaló papságnak szövetsége; mivelhogy bosszút állott az ő Istenéért, és engesztelést végze Izráel fiaiért.
and it schal be an euerlastynge couenaunt of preesthod, as wel to hym silf as to his seed; for he louyde feruentli for his God, and he clenside the greet trespas of the sones of Israel.
14 A megöletett izráelita férfinak neve pedig, a ki a midiánbeli asszonynyal együtt öletett meg, Zimri, a Szálu fia vala, a Simeon-nemzetség háznépének fejedelme.
Forsothe the name of the man of Israel, that was slayn with the womman of Madian, was Zambri, the sone of Salu, duyk of the kynrede and lynage of Symeon.
15 A megöletett midiánbeli asszony neve pedig Kozbi, Czúr leánya, a ki a Midiániták között az ő atyja háza nemzetségeinek fejedelme vala.
Forsothe the womman of Madian that was slayn togidere, was clepid Cobri, the douyter of Sur, the nobleste prince of Madianytis.
16 És szóla az Úr Mózesnek, mondván:
And the Lord spak to Moises and seide,
17 Támadjátok meg a Midiánitákat, és verjétek meg őket,
`Madianytis feele you enemyes, and smyte ye hem;
18 Mert ők megtámadtak titeket az ő cselszövéseikkel, a melyeket Peórért és az ő hugokért Kozbiért, a midián fejedelem leányáért szőttek ellenetek, a ki megöletett a Peór miatt való csapásnak napján.
for also thei diden enemyliche ayens you, and disseyueden thorow tresouns, bi the idol of Phegor, and bi `the douyter of Corbri, duyk of Madian, her sister, which douyter was sleyn in the dai of veniaunce, for the sacrilege of Phegor.
