Nehemiás 11

1 És lakozának a nép fejedelmei Jeruzsálemben, a többi nép pedig sorsot vete, hogy minden tíz emberből vinnének egyet Jeruzsálembe, a szent városba lakóul, a többi kilencz pedig marad a maga városában.

The leaders of the people were already living in Jerusalem. The rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of ten to come and live in Jerusalem, the holy city, while the other nine would stay in their own cities.

2 És áldá a nép mindazon férfiakat, a kik önkéntesen vállalkozának arra, hogy Jeruzsálemben lakoznak.

Everyone praised those who were willing to move to Jerusalem.

3 Ezek pedig a tartomány fejei, a kik Jeruzsálemben megtelepedének; de Júda városaiban lakozék kiki az ő örökségében, városaikban: az Izráel, a papok, a Léviták, a Léviták szolgái és Salamon szolgáinak fiai.

This is a list of the leaders of the province who came to live in Jerusalem. (Most of the Israelites lived on their own property in the towns of Judah. This included the priests, the Levites, the Temple servants, and the descendants of Solomon's servants who lived in their home towns.

4 Jeruzsálemben azért megtelepedének a Júda fiai közül és Benjámin fiai közül: Júda fiai közül: Athája, Uzzija fia, ki Zakariás fia, ki Amaria fia, ki Sefátia fia, ki Mahalalél fia vala, a Pérecz fiai közül,

However, some of the people of Judah and Benjamin moved to Jerusalem.) From the tribe of Judah: Athaiah the son of Uzziah, son of Zechariah, son of Amariah, son of Shephatiah, son of Mahalalel, of the sons of Perez;

5 És Maaszéja, Báruk fia, ki Kolhóze fia, ki Hazája fia, ki Adája fia, ki Jójárib fia, ki Zakariás fia, ki Hasilóni fia vala.

and Maaseiah, son of Baruch, son of Col-hozeh, son of Hazaiah, son of Adaiah, son of Joiarib, son of Zechariah, a descendant of Shelah.

6 Pérecz fiai összesen, a kik Jeruzsálemben laknak vala, négyszázhatvannyolcz erős férfi;

The total of the sons of Perez who lived in Jerusalem was 468 men of ability.

7 Benjámin fiai pedig ezek: Szallu, Mesullám fia, ki Jóed fia, ki Pedája fia, ki Kólája fia, ki Maaszéja fia, ki Ithiel fia, ki Ézsaiás fia vala,

From the tribe of Benjamin: Sallu, son of Meshullam, son of Joed, son of Pedaiah, son of Kolaiah, son of Maaseiah, son of Ithiel, son of Jeshaiah,

8 És ő utána Gabbai, Szallai, kilenczszázhuszonnyolczan;

and after him Gabbai and Sallai, a total of 928.

9 És Jóel, a Zikri fia előljárójok volt ezeknek, Júda pedig, a Hasszenua fia, a város másodrendű előljárója.

Joel son of Zichri was the officer in charge of them, and Judah son of Hassenuah was in second-in-command of the city.

10 A papok közül: Jedája, Jójárib fia, Jákhin,

From the priests: Jedaiah, son of Joiarib, Jachin;

11 Serája pedig, a Hilkiás fia, ki Mesullám fia, ki Sádók fia, ki Merájóth fia, ki Akhitúb fia volt, az Isten házának fejedelme vala,

Seraiah, son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub, chief administrator of the Temple of God,

12 És atyjokfiai, a kik a ház munkáját teljesítik vala, nyolczszázhuszonketten; és Adája, a Jeróhám fia, ki Pelália fia, ki Amsi fia, ki Zakariás fia, ki Pashur fia, ki Malkija fia vala,

and their fellow priests who served at the Temple, a total of 822; Adaiah son of Jeroham, son of Pelaliah, son of Amzi, son of Zechariah, son of Pashhur, son of Malchijah,

13 És az ő atyjafiai, a családfők kétszáznegyvenketten, és Amasszai, Azarél fia, ki Ahzai fia, ki Mesillémóth fia, ki Immér fia vala,

and those who worked with him, family leaders, a total of 242; and Amashsai, son of Azarel, son of Ahzai, son of Meshillemoth, son of Immer,

14 És az ő atyjokfiai, vitéz férfiak, százhuszonnyolczan, előljárójok volt pedig Zabdiel, a Haggedólim fia.

and those who worked with him, a total of 128 strong warriors. Zabdiel, son of Haggedolim, was in charge of them.

15 A Léviták közül pedig: Semája, Hassub fia, ki Azrikám fia, ki Hasábia fia, ki Bunni fia vala.

From the Levites: Shemaiah, son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, son of Bunni;

16 És Sabbethai és Józabád, az Isten házának külső munkája felett felügyelők valának a Léviták fejei közül,

and Shabbethai and Jozabad, Levite leaders who were in charge of the outside work of God's Temple;

17 És Mattánia, – a Mika fia, ki Zabdi fia, ki Asáf fia vala, – a ki vezetője volt a hálaadó éneklésnek, s elkezdé azt az imádság után, és Bakbukia, a ki másodrendű vala atyjafiai között, és Abda, Sammua fia, ki Gálál fia, ki Jeduthun fia vala;

Mattaniah, son of Mica, son of Zabdi, son of Asaph, who led out in giving thanks and praise; and Bakbukiah, who was second; and Abda, son of Shammua, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun.

18 A Léviták összesen a szent városban: kétszáznyolczvannégyen.

The total number of priests in the holy city was 284.

19 A kapunállók pedig: Akkub, Talmón és atyjokfiai, a kapukat őrizők százhetvenketten.

The gatekeepers: Akkub, Talmon, and their fellow workers, who guarded the gates: a total of 172.

20 A többi Izráeliták pedig, a papok, a Léviták lakozának Júdának minden városaiban, kiki az ő örökségében.

The other Israelites, with rest of the priests and Levites, lived in their home towns in Judah, each on their own property.

21 A Léviták szolgái pedig lakozának az Ófelben, és Siha és Gipsa valának előljáróik a Léviták szolgáinak.

The Temple servants lived on the hill of Ophel. Ziha and Gishpa were in charge of them.

22 A Léviták előljárója vala Jeruzsálemben, az Isten háza szolgálatjánál, Uzzi, a Báni fia, – ki Hasábia fia, ki Mattánia fia, ki Mika fia volt, – Asáf fiai, az énekesek közül;

The one in charge of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi, son of Bani, son of Hashabiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Mica, one of Asaph's descendants, the singers who led the service in God's Temple.

23 Mert ők, a Léviták, a király parancsolata szerint, az énekesek pedig kötés szerint végezék naponként való teendőjüket;

They had specific orders from the king who had instructed them to perform a daily service.

24 Petáhja pedig, a Mesézabel fia, Júda fiának, Zerahnak fiai közül, a király oldala mellett vala a nép minden dolgában.

Pethahiah, son of Meshezabel, a descendant of Zerah, son of Judah, was the king's advisor on all things relating to the Israelites.

25 A falukban, ezek határaiban pedig Júda fiai közül lakozának Kirjáth-Arbában és mezővárosaiban, Dibonban és mezővárosaiban, Jekabseélben és faluiban.

Regarding the villages with their nearby fields: some of the people of Judah lived in Kiriath-arba, Dibon, and Jekabzeel, and their smaller settlements;

26 Jésuában, Móladában és Beth-Péletben.

in Jeshua, Moladah, and Beth-pelet;

27 Hasár-Suálban, Beér-Sebában és mezővárosaiban,

in Hazar-shual, in Beersheba with its settlements,

28 Siklágban, Mekónában és mezővárosaiban,

in Ziklag, in Mekonah and its settlements,

29 En-Rimmonban, Sorában, Jarmuthban,

in En-rimmon, in Zorah, in Jarmuth,

30 Zánoáhban, Adullámban és faluiban, Lákisban és határaiban, Azékában és mezővárosaiban, – ekként laknak vala Beér-Sebától mind a Hinnóm völgyéig.

Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages, Lachish and its fields, and Azekah and its settlements. They lived all the way from Beersheba to the Valley of Hinnom.

31 Benjámin fiai pedig laknak vala Gebától fogva Mikmásban, Ajában, Béthelben és mezővárosaiban.

The people of Benjamin from Geba lived in Michmash, Aija, and Bethel and its settlements,

32 Anatótban, Nóbban, Anániában,

in Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,

33 Hásórban, Rámában, Gittajimban,

Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim,

34 Hádidban, Sebóimban, Neballátban,

Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,

35 Lódban, Onóban, s a mesteremberek völgyében.

Lod, Ono, and in the Valley of Craftsmen.

36 A Léviták közül pedig némely júdai osztályok Benjáminhoz csatlakozának.

Some divisions of the Levites of Judah also settled in Benjamin.
