Lukács 18
1 Monda pedig nékik példázatot is arról, hogy mindig imádkozni kell, és meg nem restülni;
And he spake also a simile to them, that it behoveth [us] always to pray, and not to faint,
2 Mondván: Volt egy bíró egy városban, a ki Istent nem félt és embert nem becsült.
saying, 'A certain judge was in a certain city — God he is not fearing, and man he is not regarding —
3 Volt pedig abban a városban egy özvegyasszony, és elméne ahhoz, mondván: Állj bosszút értem az én ellenségemen.
and a widow was in that city, and she was coming unto him, saying, Do me justice on my opponent,
4 Az pedig nem akará egy ideig; de azután monda ő magában: Jól lehet Istent nem félek és embert nem becsülök;
and he would not for a time, but after these things he said in himself, Even if God I do not fear, and man do not regard,
5 Mindazáltal mivelhogy nékem terhemre van ez az özvegyasszony, megszabadítom őt, hogy szüntelen reám járván, ne gyötörjön engem.
yet because this widow doth give me trouble, I will do her justice, lest, perpetually coming, she may plague me.'
6 Monda pedig az Úr: Halljátok, mit mond e hamis bíró!
And the Lord said, 'Hear ye what the unrighteous judge saith:
7 Hát az Isten nem áll-é bosszút az ő választottaiért, kik ő hozzá kiáltanak éjjel és nappal, ha hosszútűrő is irántuk?
and shall not God execute the justice to His choice ones, who are crying unto Him day and night — bearing long in regard to them?
8 Mondom néktek, hogy bosszút áll értök hamar. Mindazáltal az embernek Fia mikor eljő, avagy talál-é hitet e földön?
I say to you, that He will execute the justice to them quickly; but the Son of Man having come, shall he find the faith upon the earth?'
9 Némelyeknek pedig, kik elbizakodtak magukban, hogy ők igazak, és a többieket semmibe sem vették, ezt a példázatot is mondá:
And he spake also unto certain who have been trusting in themselves that they were righteous, and have been despising the rest, this simile:
10 Két ember méne fel a templomba imádkozni; az egyik farizeus, és a másik vámszedő.
'Two men went up to the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-gatherer;
11 A farizeus megállván, ily módon imádkozék magában: Isten! hálákat adok néked, hogy nem vagyok olyan, mint egyéb emberek, ragadozók, hamisak, paráznák, vagy mint ím e vámszedő is.
the Pharisee having stood by himself, thus prayed: God, I thank Thee that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax-gatherer;
12 Bőjtölök kétszer egy héten; dézsmát adok mindenből, a mit szerzek.
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all things — as many as I possess.
13 A vámszedő pedig távol állván, még szemeit sem akarja vala az égre emelni, hanem veri vala mellét, mondván: Isten, légy irgalmas nékem bűnösnek!
'And the tax-gatherer, having stood afar off, would not even the eyes lift up to the heaven, but was smiting on his breast, saying, God be propitious to me — the sinner!
14 Mondom néktek, ez megigazulva méne alá az ő házához, inkább hogynem amaz: mert valaki felmagasztalja magát, megaláztatik; és a ki megalázza magát, felmagasztaltatik.
I say to you, this one went down declared righteous, to his house, rather than that one: for every one who is exalting himself shall be humbled, and he who is humbling himself shall be exalted.'
15 Vivének pedig hozzá kis gyermekeket is, hogy illesse azokat; mikor pedig a tanítványok ezt látták, megdorgálák azokat.
And they were bringing near also the babes, that he may touch them, and the disciples having seen did rebuke them,
16 De Jézus magához híván őket, monda: Engedjétek, hogy a kis gyermekek én hozzám jőjjenek, és ne tiltsátok el őket; mert ilyeneké az Istennek országa.
and Jesus having called them near, said, 'Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the reign of God;
17 Bizony mondom néktek: A ki nem úgy fogadja az Isten országát, mint gyermek, semmiképen nem megy be abba.
verily I say to you, Whoever may not receive the reign of God as a little child, may not enter into it.'
18 És megkérdé őt egy főember, mondván: Jó Mester, mit cselekedjem, hogy az örökéletet elnyerhessem? (aiōnios g166)
And a certain ruler questioned him, saying, 'Good teacher, what having done — shall I inherit life age-during?' (aiōnios g166)
19 Monda pedig néki Jézus: Miért mondasz engem jónak? Nincs senki jó, csak egy, az Isten.
And Jesus said to him, 'Why me dost thou call good? no one [is] good, except One — God;
20 A parancsolatokat tudod: Ne paráználkodjál; ne ölj; ne lopj; hamis tanubizonyságot ne tégy; tiszteld atyádat és anyádat.
the commands thou hast known: Thou mayest not commit adultery, Thou mayest do no murder, Thou mayest not steal, Thou mayest not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.'
21 Az pedig monda: Mindezeket ifjúságomtól fogva megtartottam.
And he said, 'All these I did keep from my youth;'
22 Jézus ezeket hallván, monda néki: Még egy fogyatkozás van benned: Add el mindenedet, a mid van, és oszd el a szegényeknek, és kincsed lesz mennyországban; és jer, kövess engem.
and having heard these things, Jesus said to him, 'Yet one thing to thee is lacking; all things — as many as thou hast — sell, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, be following me;'
23 Az pedig ezeket hallván, igen megszomorodék; mert igen gazdag vala.
and he, having heard these things, became very sorrowful, for he was exceeding rich.
24 És mikor látta Jézus, hogy az igen megszomorodék, monda: Mily nehezen mennek be az Isten országába, a kiknek gazdagságuk van!
And Jesus having seen him become very sorrowful, said, 'How hardly shall those having riches enter into the reign of God!
25 Mert könnyebb a tevének a tű fokán átmenni, hogynem a gazdagnak az Isten országába bejutni.
for it is easier for a camel through the eye of a needle to enter, than for a rich man into the reign of God to enter.'
26 A kik pedig ezt hallották, mondának: Ki idvezülhet tehát?
And those who heard, said, 'And who is able to be saved?'
27 Ő pedig monda: A mi embereknél lehetetlen, lehetséges az Istennél.
and he said, 'The things impossible with men are possible with God.'
28 És monda Péter: Ímé mi mindent elhagytunk, és követtünk téged!
And Peter said, 'Lo, we left all, and did follow thee;'
29 Ő pedig monda nékik: Bizony mondom néktek, hogy senki sincs, a ki elhagyta házát, vagy szüleit, vagy testvéreit, vagy feleségét, vagy gyermekeit az Isten országáért,
and he said to them, 'Verily I say to you, that there is not one who left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the reign of God,
31 És maga mellé vévén a tizenkettőt, monda nékik: Ímé felmegyünk Jeruzsálembe, és beteljesedik minden az embernek Fián, a mit a próféták megírtak.
And having taken the twelve aside, he said unto them, 'Lo, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things shall be completed — that have been written through the prophets — to the Son of Man,
32 Mert a pogányok kezébe adatik, és megcsúfoltatik, és meggyaláztatik, és megköpdöstetik;
for he shall be delivered up to the nations, and shall be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon,
33 És megostorozván, megölik őt; és harmadnapon feltámad.
and having scourged they shall put him to death, and on the third day he shall rise again.'
34 Ők pedig ezekből semmit nem értének; és a beszéd ő előlük el vala rejtve, és nem fogták fel a mondottakat.
And they none of these things understood, and this saying was hid from them, and they were not knowing the things said.
35 Lőn pedig, mikor Jerikhóhoz közeledett, egy vak ül vala az út mellett koldulván.
And it came to pass, in his coming nigh to Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting beside the way begging,
36 És mikor hallotta a mellette elmenő sokaságot, tudakozódék, mi dolog az?
and having heard a multitude going by, he was inquiring what this may be,
37 Megmondák pedig néki, hogy a Názáretbeli Jézus megy el arra.
and they brought him word that Jesus the Nazarene doth pass by,
38 És kiálta, mondván: Jézus, Dávidnak Fia, könyörülj rajtam!
and he cried out, saying, 'Jesus, Son of David, deal kindly with me;'
39 A kik pedig elől mentek, dorgálák őt, hogy hallgasson; de ő annál inkább kiálta: Dávidnak Fia, könyörülj rajtam!
and those going before were rebuking him, that he might be silent, but he was much more crying out, 'Son of David, deal kindly with me.'
40 És Jézus megállván, parancsolá, hogy vigyék azt hozzá; és mikor közel ért, megkérdé őt,
And Jesus having stood, commanded him to be brought unto him, and he having come nigh, he questioned him,
41 Mondván: Mit akarsz, hogy cselekedjem veled? Az pedig monda: Uram, hogy az én szemem világa megjőjjön.
saying, 'What wilt thou I shall do to thee?' and he said, 'Sir, that I may receive sight.'
42 És Jézus monda néki: Láss, a te hited téged megtartott.
And Jesus said to him, 'Receive thy sight; thy faith hath saved thee;'
43 És azonnal megjöve annak szeme világa, és követé őt, dicsőítvén az Istent az egész sokaság pedig ezt látván, dicsőséget ada az Istennek.
and presently he did receive sight, and was following him, glorifying God; and all the people, having seen, did give praise to God.
