Jób 36
1 És folytatá Elihu, és monda:
And Elihu adds and says:
2 Várj még egy kevéssé, majd felvilágosítlak, mert az Istenért még van mit mondanom.
“Honor me a little, and I show you, That yet for God [are] words.
3 Tudásomat messzünnen veszem, és az én teremtőmnek igazat adok.
I lift up my knowledge from afar, And I ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
4 Mert az én beszédem bizonyára nem hazugság; tökéletes tudású ember áll melletted.
For my words [are] truly not false, The perfect in knowledge [is] with you.
5 Ímé, az Isten hatalmas, még sem vet meg semmit; hatalmas az ő lelkének ereje.
Behold, God [is] mighty, and does not despise, Mighty [in] power [and] heart.
6 Nem tartja meg a gonosznak életét, de a szegénynek igaz törvényt teszen.
He does not revive the wicked, And appoints the judgment of the poor;
7 Nem veszi le az igazról szemeit, sőt a királyok mellé, a trónba ülteti őket örökre, hogy felmagasztaltassanak.
He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous, And [from] kings on the throne, And causes them to sit forever, and they are high,
8 És ha békókba veretnek, és fogva tartatnak a nyomorúság kötelein:
And if prisoners in chains They are captured with cords of affliction,
9 Tudtokra adja cselekedetöket, és vétkeiket, hogyha elhatalmaztak rajtok.
Then He declares to them their work, And their transgressions, Because they have become mighty,
10 Megnyitja füleiket a feddőzésnek és megparancsolja, hogy a vétekből megtérjenek:
And He uncovers their ear for instruction, And commands that they turn back from iniquity.
11 Ha engednek és szolgálnak néki, napjaikat jóban végzik el, és az ő esztendeiket gyönyörűségekben.
If they hear and serve, They complete their days in good, And their years in pleasantness.
12 Ha pedig nem engednek, fegyverrel veretnek által, és tudatlanságban múlnak ki.
And if they do not listen, They pass away by the dart, And expire without knowledge.
13 De az álnok szívűek haragot táplálnak, nem kiáltanak, mikor megkötözi őket.
And the profane in heart set the face, They do not cry when He has bound them.
14 Azért ifjúságukban hal meg az ő lelkök, és életök a paráznákéhoz hasonló.
Their soul dies in youth, And their life among the defiled.
15 A nyomorultat megszabadítja az ő nyomorúságától, és a szorongattatással megnyitja fülöket.
He draws out the afflicted in his affliction, And uncovers their ear in oppression.
16 Téged is kiszabadítana az ínség torkából tág mezőre, a hol nincs szorultság, és asztalod étke kövérséggel lenne rakva;
And He also moved you from a narrow place [To] a broad place—no constriction under it, And the sitting beyond of your table has been full of fatness.
17 De ha gonosz ítélettel vagy tele, úgy utolérnek az ítélet és igazság.
And you have fulfilled the judgment of the wicked, Judgment and justice are upheld because of fury,
18 Csakhogy a harag ne ragadjon téged csúfkodásra, és a nagy váltságdíj se tántorítson el.
Lest He move you with a stroke, And the abundance of an atonement not turn you aside.
19 Ad-é valamit a te gazdagságodra? Sem aranyra, sem semmiféle erőfeszítésre!
Does He value your riches? He has gold, and all the forces of power.
20 Ne kívánjad az éjszakát, a mely népeket mozdít ki helyökből.
Do not desire the night, For the going up of peoples in their stead.
21 Vigyázz! ne pártolj a bűnhöz, noha azt a nyomorúságnál jobban szereted.
Take heed—do not turn to iniquity, For you have fixed on this Rather than [on] affliction.
22 Ímé, mily fenséges az Isten az ő erejében; kicsoda az, a ki úgy tanítson, mint ő?
Behold, God sits on high by His power, Who [is] like Him—a teacher?
23 Kicsoda szabta meg az ő útjait, vagy ki mondhatja azt: Igazságtalanságot cselekedtél?
Who has appointed to Him His way? And who said, You have done iniquity?
24 Legyen rá gondod, hogy magasztaljad az ő cselekedetét, a melyről énekelnek az emberek!
Remember that you magnify His work That men have beheld.
25 Minden ember azt szemléli; a halandó távolról is látja.
All men have looked on it, Man looks attentively from afar.
26 Ímé, az Isten fenséges, mi nem ismerhetjük őt! esztendeinek száma sem nyomozható ki.
Behold, God [is] high, And we do not know the number of His years, Indeed, there [is] no searching.
27 Hogyha magához szívja a vízcseppeket, ködéből mint eső cseperegnek alá,
When He diminishes droppings of the waters, They refine rain according to its vapor,
28 A melyet a fellegek özönnel öntenek, és hullatnak le temérdek emberre.
Which clouds drop, They distill on man abundantly.
29 De sőt értheti-é valaki a felhő szétoszlását, az ő sátorának zúgását?
Indeed, do [any] understand The spreadings out of a cloud? The noises of His dwelling place?
30 Ímé, szétterjeszti magára az ő világosságát, és ráborítja a tengernek gyökereit.
Behold, He has spread His light over it, And He has covered the roots of the sea,
31 Mert ezek által ítéli meg a népeket, ád eledelt bőségesen.
For He judges peoples by them, He gives food in abundance.
32 Kezeit elborítja villámlással, és kirendeli a lázadó ellen.
By two palms He has covered the light, And lays a charge over it in meeting,
33 Az ő dörgése ad hírt felőle, mint a barom a közeledő viharról.
His shout shows it, The livestock also, the rising [storm].”
