Jób 26
1 Jób pedig felele, és monda:
Then Job answered and said:
2 Bezzeg jól segítettél a tehetetlenen, meggyámolítottad az erőtelen kart!
How hast thou helped him that is without power! How hast thou saved the arm that hath no strength!
3 Bezzeg jó tanácsot adtál a tudatlannak, és sok értelmet tanusítottál!
How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!
4 Kivel beszélgettél, és kinek a lelke jött ki belőled?
With whose help hast thou uttered words? And whose spirit came forth from thee?
5 A halottak is megremegnek tőle; a vizek alatt levők és azok lakói is.
The shades tremble beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof.
The nether-world is naked before Him, and Destruction hath no covering. (Sheol h7585)
7 Ő terjeszti ki északot az üresség fölé és függeszti föl a földet a semmiség fölé.
He stretcheth out the north over the empty space, and hangeth the earth over nothing.
8 Ő köti össze felhőibe a vizeket úgy, hogy a felhő alattok meg nem hasad.
He bindeth up the waters in His thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.
9 Ő rejti el királyi székének színét, felhőjét fölibe terítvén.
He closeth in the face of His throne, and spreadeth His cloud upon it.
10 Ő szab határt a víz színe fölé – a világosságnak és setétségnek elvégződéséig.
He hath described a boundary upon the face of the waters, unto the confines of light and darkness.
11 Az egek oszlopai megrendülnek, és düledeznek fenyegetéseitől.
The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at His rebuke.
12 Erejével felriasztja a tengert, és bölcseségével megtöri Ráhábot.
He stirreth up the sea with His power, and by His understanding He smiteth through Rahab.
13 Lehelletével megékesíti az eget, keze átdöfi a futó kígyót.
By His breath the heavens are serene; His hand hath pierced the slant serpent.
14 Ímé, ezek az ő útainak részei, de mily kicsiny rész az, a mit meghallunk abból! Ám az ő hatalmának mennydörgését ki érthetné meg?
Lo, these are but the outskirts of His ways; and how small a whisper is heard of Him! But the thunder of His mighty deeds who can understand?
