Jeremiás 27

1 A Jojákim uralkodásának kezdetén, a ki fia vala Jósiásnak, a Júda királyának, ilyen szavakat szóla az Úr Jeremiáshoz, mondván:

In the beginning of the reign of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah came this word unto Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

2 Így szól az Úr nékem: Csinálj magadnak köteleket, és jármot és vedd azokat a nyakadba.

Thus said the Lord to me, Make for thyself bands and yoke-bars, and put them around thy neck,

3 És küldd azokat Edom királyához és Moáb királyához, az Ammon fiainak királyához, Tírus királyához és Sidon királyához a követek által, a kik eljőnek Jeruzsálembe Sedékiáshoz, Júdának királyához,

And send such to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of 'Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Zidon, by means of the messengers who come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah the king of Judah;

4 És parancsold meg nékik, hogy mondják meg az ő uraiknak: Ezt mondja a Seregek Ura, Izráelnek Istene, ezt mondjátok a ti uraitoknak:

And thou shalt charge them unto their masters, saying, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say unto your masters,

5 Én teremtettem a földet, az embert és a barmot, a melyek e föld színén vannak, az én nagy erőmmel és az én kinyujtott karommal, és annak adom azt, a ki kedves az én szemeim előtt:

It is I who have made the earth, the men, and the beasts that are upon the face of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and I have given it unto the one who seemeth proper in my eyes.

6 És most én odaadom mind e földeket Nabukodonozornak, a babiloni királynak, az én szolgámnak kezébe; sőt a mezei állatokat is néki adom, hogy néki szolgáljanak.

And now it is I who have given all these countries into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and also the beasts of the field have I given him to serve him.

7 És néki és az ő fiának és unokájának szolgál minden nemzet mindaddig, míg el nem jő az ő földének is ideje, és szolgálnak néki sok nemzetek és nagy királyok.

And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the time of his land is also come in its turn: when many nations and great kings shall make it serve.

8 Azt a nemzetet és azt az országot pedig, a mely nem szolgál néki, Nabukodonozornak, a babiloni királynak, és a ki nem teszi nyakát a babiloni király jármába: fegyverrel és éhséggel és döghalállal verem meg azt a nemzetet, azt mondja az Úr, míglen kiirtom őket az ő kezével.

And it shall come to pass, that the nation and the kingdom which will not serve him, Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put its neck in the yoke of the king of Babylon, —even that nation will I punish with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, saith the Lord, until I have made an end of them by his hand.

9 Ti azért ne hallgassatok a ti prófétáitokra, se jövendőmondóitokra, se álommagyarázóitokra, se varázslóitokra, se szemfényvesztőitekre, a kik ezt mondják néktek: Ne szolgáljatok a babiloni királynak.

But do ye not hearken to your prophets, and to your diviners, and to your dreamers, and to your enchanters, and to your sorcerers, who speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon;

10 Mert ők hazugságot prófétálnak néktek, hogy messze vigyelek titeket a ti földetekből és kiűzzelek titeket, és elveszszetek!

For falsehood do they prophesy unto you, in order to remove you far from your land; and that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish.

11 Azt a nemzetet pedig, a mely nyakára veszi a babiloni király jármát és szolgál néki, az ő földében hagyom, azt mondja az Úr, és míveli azt és lakozik benne.

But the nation that will bring its neck into the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, —that one will I then let remain quietly in its own land, saith the Lord: and it shall till it, and dwell therein.

12 Sőt Sedékiásnak, a Júda királyának is mind e beszédek szerint szólottam, mondván: Vegyétek nyakatokra a babiloni királynak jármát, és szolgáljatok néki és az ő népének, és éltek!

And unto Zedekiah the king of Judah did I speak in accordance with all these words, saying, Bring your neck into the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, that ye may live.

13 Miért halsz meg te és a te néped fegyver miatt, éhség és döghalál miatt, a mint szólott az Úr az olyan népről, a mely nem szolgál a babiloni királynak?

Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken concerning the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

14 Ne hallgassatok hát a próféták szavaira, a kik így szólnak néktek: Ne szolgáljatok a babiloni királynak; mert ők hazugságot prófétálnak néktek.

And do ye not hearken unto the words of the prophets that say unto you, as followeth, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon; for a falsehood do they prophesy unto you.

15 Mert nem küldöttem őket, azt mondja az Úr, hanem ők az én nevemben hazugságot prófétálnak, hogy kiűzzelek titeket, és elvesszetek ti és a próféták, a kik prófétálnak néktek.

For I have not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophesy in my name falsely: in order that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.

16 A papoknak és ez egész népnek is így szóltam: Ezt mondja az Úr: Ne hallgassatok a ti prófétáitok szavaira, a kik prófétálnak néktek, mondván: Ímé, az Úr házának edényei visszahozatnak Babilonból most mindjárt, mert hazugságot prófétálnak ők néktek:

And unto the priests and unto all this people did I speak, saying, Thus hath said the Lord, Do not hearken to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the house of the Lord shall be brought again from Babylon now speedily; for a falsehood do they prophesy unto you.

17 Ne hallgassatok rájok; szolgáljatok a babiloni királynak, és éltek; miért legyen e város pusztasággá?

Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, that ye may live: wherefore should this city become a ruin?

18 Ha ők próféták és ha nálok van az Úrnak igéje: imádkozzanak most a Seregek Urának, hogy az edények, a melyek még az Úr házában és a Júda királyának házában és Jeruzsálemben maradtak, ne jussanak Babilonba;

And if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession with the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, may not be carried to Babylon.

19 Mert ezt mondja a Seregek Ura az oszlopok felől, a tenger felől, az állványok felől és az edények maradéka felől, a melyek még e városban maradtak,

For thus hath said the Lord of hosts of the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that are left in this city,

20 A melyeket el nem vitt Nabukodonozor, a babiloni király, mikor fogságba vivé Jékóniást, Jojákimnak, a Júda királyának fiát Jeruzsálemből Babilonba, és Júdának és Jeruzsálemnek minden fő népét;

Which Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon did not take away, when he carried away into exile Jechonyah the son of Jehoyakim the king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;

21 Bizony ezt mondja a Seregek Ura, Izráelnek Istene az edények felől, a melyek megmaradtak az Úrnak házában és a Júda királyának házában és Jeruzsálemben:

[Yea] for thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem,

22 Babilonba vitetnek, és ott lesznek mindama napig, a melyen meglátogatom őket, azt mondja az Úr; és felhozom azokat, és visszahozom azokat e helyre.

Unto Babylon shall they be carried, and there shall they remain until the day that I think of them, saith the Lord, when I will bring them up, and restore them to this place.
