1 Mózes 29
1 Jákób azután lábára kelvén, elméne a napkeletre lakók földére.
Then Iaakob lift vp his feete and came into the East countrey.
2 És látá, hogy ímé egy kút van a mezőben, és hogy ott három falka juh hever vala. Mert abból a kútból itatják vala a nyájakat; de a kútnak száján nagy kő vala:
And as he looked about, behold there was a well in the field, and lo, three flocks of sheepe lay thereby (for at that well were the flockes watered) and there was a great stone vpon the welles mouth.
3 Mikor pedig ott valamennyi nyáj összeverődik, elgördítik a követ a kút szájáról és megitatják a juhokat s ismét helyére teszik a követ, a kút szájára.
And thither were all the flockes gathered, and they rolled the stone from the welles mouth, and watered the sheepe, and put the stone againe vpon the welles mouth in his place.
4 És monda nékik Jákób: Honnan valók vagytok atyámfiai? És mondának: Háránból valók vagyunk.
And Iaakob sayde vnto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they answered, We are of Haran.
5 És monda nékik: Ismeritek-é Lábánt, a Nákhor fiát? s azok felelének: Ismerjük.
Then he sayd vnto them, Know ye Laban the sonne of Nahor? Who said, We know him.
6 Azután monda nékik: Egészségben van-é? s azok mondának: Egészségben van, és az ő leánya Rákhel ímhol jő a juhokkal.
Againe he sayd vnto them, Is he in good health? And they answered, He is in good health, and beholde, his daughter Rahel commeth with the sheepe.
7 És monda Jákób: Ímé még nagy fenn van a nap, nincs ideje hogy betereljék a marhát: itassátok meg a juhokat, és menjetek, legeltessetek.
Then he sayd, Lo, it is yet hie day, neither is it time that the cattell shoulde be gathered together: water ye the sheepe and go feede them.
8 Azok pedig felelének: Nem tehetjük míg valamennyi nyáj össze nem verődik, és el nem gördítik a követ a kút szájáról, hogy megitathassuk a juhokat.
But they sayde, We may not vntill all the flocks be brought together, and till men rolle the stone from the welles mouth, that we may water the sheepe.
9 Még beszélget vala velők, mikor megérkezék Rákhel az ő atyja juhaival, melyeket legeltet vala.
While he talked with them, Rahel also came with her fathers sheepe, for she kept them.
10 S lőn, a mint meglátá Jákób Rákhelt, Lábánnak az ő anyja bátyjának leányát, és Lábánnak az ő anyja bátyjának juhait, odalépett Jákób és elgördíté a követ a kút szájáról, és megitatá Lábánnak az ő anyja bátyjának juhait.
And assoone as Iaakob saw Rahel ye daughter of Laban his mothers brother, and the sheepe of Laban his mothers brother, then came Iaakob neere, and rolled the stone from the welles mouth, and watered ye flocke of Laban his mothers brother.
11 És megcsókolá Jákób Rákhelt, és nagy felszóval síra.
And Iaakob kissed Rahel, and lift vp his voyce and wept.
12 S elbeszélé Jákób Rákhelnek, hogy ő az ő atyjának rokona és hogy Rebekának fia. Ez pedig elfuta, és megmondá az ő atyjának.
(For Iaakob tolde Rahel, that he was her fathers brother, and that he was Rebekahs sonne) then she ranne and tolde her father.
13 És lőn mikor Lábán Jákóbnak, az ő húga fiának hírét hallá, eleibe futa, megölelé és megcsókolá őt, és bevivé az ő házába, és az mindeneket elbeszéle Lábánnak.
And when Laban heard tell of Iaakob his sisters sonne, he ranne to meete him, and embraced him and kissed him, and brought him to his house: and he tolde Laban all these things.
14 És monda néki Lábán: Bizony én csontom és testem vagy te! És nála lakék egy hónapig,
To whome Laban sayd, Well, thou art my bone and my flesh. and he abode with him the space of a moneth.
15 És monda Lábán Jákóbnak: Avagy ingyen szolgálj-é engem azért, hogy atyámfia vagy? Mondd meg nékem, mi legyen a béred?
For Laban sayde vnto Iaakob, Though thou be my brother, shouldest thou therfore serue me for nought? tell me, what shalbe thy wages?
16 Vala pedig Lábánnak két leánya: a nagyobbiknak neve Lea, a kisebbiknek neve Rákhel.
Now Laban had two daughters, the elder called Leah, and the yonger called Rahel.
17 Leának pedig gyenge szemei valának, de Rákhel szép termetű és szép tekintetű vala.
And Leah was tender eyed, but Rahel was beautifull and faire.
18 Megszereti vala azért Jákób Rákhelt, és monda: Szolgállak téged hét esztendeig Rákhelért, a te kisebbik leányodért.
And Iaakob loued Rahel, and sayde, I will serue thee seuen yeeres for Rahel thy yonger daughter.
19 És monda Lábán: Jobb néked adnom őt, hogysem másnak adjam őt, maradj én nálam.
Then Laban answered, It is better that I giue her thee, then that I should giue her to another man: abide with me.
20 Szolgála tehát Jákób Rákhelért hét esztendeig, s csak néhány napnak tetszék az neki, annyira szereti vala őt.
And Iaakob serued seuen yeres for Rahel, and they seemed vnto him but a few dayes, because he loued her.
21 És monda Jákób Lábánnak: Add meg nékem az én feleségemet: mert az én időm kitelt, hadd menjek be hozzá.
Then Iaakob sayde to Laban, Giue me my wife, that I may goe in to her: for my terme is ended.
22 És begyűjté Lábán annak a helynek minden népét, és szerze lakodalmat.
Wherefore Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast.
23 Estve pedig vevé az ő leányát Leát, és bevivé hozzá, a ki beméne ő hozzá.
But whe the euening was come, he tooke Leah his daughter and brought her to him, and he went in vnto her.
24 És Lábán az ő szolgálóját Zilpát, szolgálóul adá az ő leányának Leának.
And Laban gaue his mayde Zilpah to his daughter Leah, to be her seruant.
25 És reggelre kelve: Ímé ez Lea! Monda azért Lábánnak: Mit cselekedtél én velem? Avagy nem Rákhelért szolgáltalak-é én tégedet? Miért csaltál meg engem?
But when the morning was come, behold, it was Leah. Then sayde he to Laban, Wherefore hast thou done thus to mee? did not I serue thee for Rahel? wherfore then hast thou beguiled me?
26 Lábán pedig monda: Nem szokás nálunk, hogy a kisebbiket oda adják a nagyobbik előtt.
And Laban answered, It is not the maner of this place, to giue the yonger before the elder.
27 Töltsd ki ennek hetét, azután amazt is néked adjuk a szolgálatért, melylyel majd szolgálsz nálam még más hét esztendeig.
Fulfill seuen yeeres for her, and we wil also giue thee this for the seruice, which thou shalt serue me yet seuen yeeres more.
28 Jákób tehát aképen cselekedék, kitölté azt a hetet; ez pedig néki adá Rákhelt, az ő leányát feleségűl.
Then Iaakob did so, and fulfilled her seuen yeeres, so he gaue him Rahel his daughter to be his wife.
29 És adá Lábán az ő leányának Rákhelnek, az ő szolgálóját Bilhát, hogy néki szolgálója legyen.
Laban also gaue to Rahel his daughter Bilhah his mayde to be her seruant.
30 És beméne Rákhelhez is, és inkább szereté Rákhelt, hogysem Leát és szolgála ő nála még más hét esztendeig.
So entred he in to Rahel also, and loued also Rahel more then Leah, and serued him yet seuen yeeres more.
31 És meglátá az Úr Lea megvetett voltát, és megnyitá annak méhét. Rákhel pedig magtalan vala.
When the Lord saw that Leah was despised, he made her fruitful: but Rahel was barren.
32 Fogada azért Lea az ő méhében és szűle fiat, és nevezé nevét Rúbennek, mert azt mondja vala: Meglátta az Úr az én nyomorúságomat; most már szeretni fog engem az én férjem.
And Leah conceiued and bare a sonne, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Because the Lord hath looked vpon my tribulation, now therefore mine husband will loue me.
33 Azután ismét teherbe esék és szűle fiat, és monda: Mivelhogy meghallotta az Úr megvetett voltomat, azért adta nékem ezt is; és nevezé nevét Simeonnak.
And she conceiued againe and bare a sonne, and sayde, Because the Lord heard that I was hated, he hath therefore giuen me this sonne also, and she called his name Simeon.
34 És megint teherbe esék és szűle fiat, és monda: Most már ragaszkodni fog hozzám az én férjem, mert három fiat szűltem néki; azért nevezé nevét Lévinek.
And she conceiued againe and bare a sonne, and said, Now at this time wil my husband keepe mee company, because I haue borne him three sonnes: therefore was his name called Leui.
35 És ismét teherbe esék, és fiat szűle és mondá: Most már hálákat adok az Úrnak; azért nevezé nevét Júdának, és megszűnék a szűléstől.
Moreouer shee conceiued againe and bare a sonne, saying, Nowe will I prayse the Lord: therefore shee called his name Iudah, and left bearing.
