1 Mózes 17

1 Mikor Ábrám kilenczvenkilencz esztendős vala, megjelenék az Úr Ábrámnak, és monda néki: Én a mindenható Isten vagyok, járj én előttem, és légy tökéletes.

When Abram was ninetie yeere olde and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said vnto him, I am God all sufficient. walke before me, and be thou vpright,

2 És megkötöm az én szövetségemet én közöttem és te közötted: és felette igen megsokasítlak téged.

And I will make my couenant betweene me and thee, and I will multiplie thee exceedingly.

3 És arczára borúla Ábrám; az Isten pedig szóla őnéki, mondván:

Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,

4 A mi engem illet, imhol az én szövetségem te veled, hogy népek sokaságának atyjává leszesz.

Beholde, I make my couenant with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations,

5 És ne neveztessék ezután a te neved Ábrámnak, hanem legyen a te neved Ábrahám, mert népek sokaságának atyjává teszlek téged.

Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shalbe Abraham: for a father of many nations haue I made thee.

6 És felette igen megsokasítalak téged; és népekké teszlek, és királyok is származnak tőled.

Also I will make thee exceeding fruitfull, and will make nations of thee: yea, Kings shall proceede of thee.

7 És megállapítom az én szövetségemet én közöttem és te közötted, és te utánad a te magod között annak nemzedékei szerint örök szövetségűl, hogy legyek tenéked Istened, és a te magodnak te utánad.

Moreouer I wil establish my couenant betweene me and thee, and thy seede after thee in their generations, for an euerlasting couenant, to be God vnto thee and to thy seede after thee.

8 És adom tenéked és a te magodnak te utánnad a te bujdosásod földét, Kanaánnak egész földét, örök birtokul; és Istenök lészek nékik.

And I will giue thee and thy seede after thee the land, wherein thou art a stranger, euen all the land of Canaan, for an euerlasting possession, and I will be their God.

9 Annakfelette monda Isten Ábrahámnak: Te pedig az én szövetségemet megőrizzed, te és a te magod te utánad az ő nemzedékei szerint.

Againe God said vnto Abraham, Thou also shalt keepe my couenant, thou, and thy seede after thee in their generations.

10 Ez pedig az én szövetségem, melyet meg kell tartanotok én közöttem és ti közöttetek, és a te utánnad való magod között: minden férfi körűlmetéltessék nálatok.

This is my couenant which ye shall keepe betweene me and you, and thy seede after thee, Let euery man childe among you be circumcised:

11 És metéljétek körűl a ti férfitestetek bőrének elejét, és az lesz az én közöttem és ti közöttetek való szövetségnek jele.

That is, ye shall circumcise the foreskin of your flesh, and it shalbe a signe of the couenant betweene me and you.

12 Nyolcznapos korában körűlmetéltessék nálatok minden férfigyermek nemzedékeiteknél; akár háznál született, akár pénzen vásároltatott valamely idegentől, a ki nem a te magodból való.

And euery man childe of eight dayes olde among you, shalbe circumcised in your generations, aswell he that is borne in thine house, as he that is bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seede.

13 Körűlmetéltetvén körűlmetéltessék a házadban született és a pénzeden vett; és örökkévaló szövetségűl lesz az én szövetségem a ti testeteken.

He that is borne in thine house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needes be circumcised: so my couenant shall be in your flesh for an euerlasting couenant.

14 A körűlmetéletlen férfi pedig, a ki körűl nem metélteti az ő férfitestének bőrét, az ilyen lélek kivágattatik az ő népe közűl, mert felbontotta az én szövetségemet.

But the vncircumcised man childe, in whose flesh the foreskin is not circumcised, euen that person shall be cut off from his people, because he hath broken my couenant.

15 És monda Isten Ábrahámnak: Szárainak, a te feleségednek nevét ne nevezd Szárainak, mert Sára az ő neve.

Afterward God said vnto Abraham, Sarai thy wife shalt thou not call Sarai, but Sarah shalbe her name.

16 És megáldom őt, és fiat is adok ő tőle néked, és megáldom, hogy legyen népekké; nemzetek királyai származzanak ő tőle.

And I will blesse her, and will also giue thee a sonne of her, yea, I will blesse her, and she shall be the mother of nations: Kings also of people shall come of her.

17 Ekkor arczára borúla Ábrahám, és nevete és gondolá az ő szívében: vajjon száz esztendős embernek lesz-é gyermeke? avagy Sára kilenczven esztendős lévén, szűlhet-é?

Then Abraham fell vpon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a childe be borne vnto him, that is an hundreth yeere olde? and shall Sarah that is ninetie yeere olde beare?

18 És monda Ábrahám az Istennek: Vajha Ismáel élne te előtted.

And Abraham saide vnto God, Oh, that Ishmael might liue in thy sight.

19 Az Isten pedig monda: Kétségnélkűl a te feleséged Sára szűl néked fiat, és nevezed annak nevét Izsáknak, és megerősítem az én szövetségemet ő vele örökkévaló szövetségűl az ő magvának ő utánna.

Then God saide, Sarah thy wife shall beare thee a sonne in deede, and thou shalt call his name Izhak: and I will establish my couenant with him for an euerlasting couenant, and with his seede after him.

20 Ismáel felől is meghallgattalak: Ímé megáldom őt, és megszaporítom őt és megsokasítom őt felette nagyon; tizenkét fejedelmet nemz, és nagy néppé teszem őt.

And as concerning Ishmael, I haue heard thee: loe, I haue blessed him, and will make him fruitfull, and will multiplie him exceedingly: twelue princes shall he beget, and I will make a great nation of him.

21 Az én szövetségemet pedig megerősítem Izsákkal, kit néked szűl Sára ez időkorban a következő esztendőben.

But my couenant will I establish with Izhak, which Sarah shall beare vnto thee, the next yeere at this season.

22 És elvégezé vele való beszédét, és felméne az Isten Ábrahámtól.

And he left off talking with him, and God went vp from Abraham.

23 Vevé azért Ábrahám Ismáelt az ő fiát, és háza minden szülöttét, és mind a pénzén vetteket, minden férfiat Ábrahám házanépe közűl és körűlmetélé férfitestöknek bőrét ugyanazon napon, a mikor szólott vala vele az Isten.

Then Abraham tooke Ishmael his sonne and all that were borne in his house, and all that was bought with his money, that is, euery man childe among the men of Abrahams house, and he circumcised the foreskinne of their flesh in that selfe same day, as God had comaunded him.

24 Ábrahám pedig kilenczvenkilencz esztendős vala, mikor körűlmetélé az ő férfitestének bőrét.

Abraham also himselfe was ninetie yeere olde and nine, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.

25 Ismáel pedig az ő fia tizenhárom esztendős vala, mikor körűlmetélék az ő férfitestének bőrét.

And Ishmael his sonne was thirteene yeere olde, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.

26 Ugyanazon napon metéltetett körűl Ábrahám és Ismáel az ő fia.

The selfe same day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his sonne:

27 És házának minden férfi tagja, háza szülöttei és kik idegen embertől pénzen vásároltattak, vele együtt körűlmetéltetének.

And all the men of his house, both borne in his house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.
