Ezékiel 2

1 És monda nékem: Embernek fia! állj lábaidra, és szólok veled.

And he said unto me, —Son of man, Stand upon thy feet, that I may, speak with thee.

2 És lélek jöve én belém, a mint szóla, és állata engem lábaimra, és hallám azt, a ki szól vala nékem.

Then the Spirit entered into me as soon as he spake unto me, and it caused me to stand upon my feet, —and I heard one speaking unto me.

3 És mondá nékem: Embernek fia! küldelek én téged Izráel fiaihoz, a pártos nemzetségekhez, a kik pártot ütöttek ellenem; ők és atyáik vétkeztek ellenem mind e mai napig.

And he said unto me- Son of man I am sending thee unto the sons of Israel, unto rebellious nations, which have rebelled against me, —they, and their fathers have transgressed against me, until this very day;

4 A kemény orczájú fiakhoz és makacs szívűekhez küldelek téged, és ezt mondjad nékik: Így szól az Úr Isten!

and it is unto such sons—of shameless face, and emboldened heart, that I am sending thee, —therefore shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh.

5 Ők pedig vagy hallják, vagy nem hallják, mivelhogy pártos ház, hadd tudják meg, hogy próféta volt köztük.

And they! whether they will hear or whether they will forbear, for a perverse house, they are, shall then know that, a prophet, hath been in their midst.

6 Te pedig, embernek fia, ne félj tőlök, és az ő beszédöktől se félj; ha bogácsok és tövisek vannak is veled, és ha skorpiókkal lakol is együtt; beszédöktől ne félj, orczájoktól ne rettegj, mert ők pártos ház.

But thou son of man Be not afraid of them Nor of their words, be afraid Though thorns and thistles are about thee, And amongst prickly plants, thou dost dwell, Of their words, be not afraid nor At their faces, be thou dismayed, For a perverse house, they are!

7 És szóljad az én beszédimet nékik, vagy hallják, vagy nem, mert pártos ház.

Thou shalt therefore speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear For perverse, they are!

8 Te pedig, embernek fia, halld meg a mit én néked szólok. Ne légy pártos mint ez a pártos ház, nyisd föl szádat, és egyed, a mit én adok néked.

Thou, therefore son of man, hear what I am speaking unto thee., become not perverse like the perverse house, —open thy mouth, and eat that which I am giving unto thee.

9 És látám, és ímé egy kéz nyúlt felém, és ímé benne egy könyv türete vala.

So I looked, and lo! a hand put forth unto me, —and lo! therein a scroll;

10 És kiterjeszté azt előttem, és ímé be vala írva elől és hátul, és írva valának reá gyászénekek és nyögések és jajszók.

and he spread it out before me, and, it was written on the front and the back, —and there were written thereon, lamentation and sighing, and wailing.
