2 Mózes 5

1 Annakutána pedig elmenének Mózes és Áron és mondának a Faraónak: Ezt mondá az Úr, Izráelnek Istene: Bocsásd el az én népemet, hogy ünnepet üljenek nékem a pusztában.

Then afterwarde Moses and Aaron went and said to Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may celebrate a feast vnto me in the wildernesse.

2 A Faraó pedig mondá: Kicsoda az Úr, hogy szavára hallgassak, és elbocsássam Izráelt? Nem ismerem az Urat és nem is bocsátom el Izráelt.

And Pharaoh saide, Who is the Lord, that I should heare his voyce, and let Israel go? I knowe not the Lord, neither will I let Israel goe.

3 Ők pedig mondának: A héberek Istene megjelent nékünk; hadd mehessünk hát háromnapi útra a pusztába, hogy áldozhassunk az Úrnak a mi Istenünknek, hogy meg ne verjen minket döghalállal vagy fegyverrel.

And they saide, We worship the God of the Ebrewes: we pray thee, let vs goe three daies iourney in the desert, and sacrifice vnto the Lord our God, least he bring vpon vs the pestilence or sword.

4 Égyiptom királya pedig monda nékik: Mózes és Áron! miért vonjátok el a népet az ő munkáitól? menjetek dolgotokra.

Then saide the King of Egypt vnto them, Moses and Aaron, why cause ye the people to cease from their workes? get you to your burdens.

5 Ezt is mondja vala a Faraó: Ímé a föld népe most sok, és ti elhagyatjátok velök az ő munkáikat.

Pharaoh saide furthermore, Behold, much people is nowe in the lande, and ye make them leaue their burdens.

6 Parancsolá azért a Faraó azon a napon a nép sarczoltatóinak és felvigyázóinak, mondván:

Therefore Pharaoh gaue commandement the same day vnto the taskemasters of the people, and to their officers, saying,

7 Ne adjatok többé polyvát a népnek a téglavetéshez mint ennekelőtte; hadd menjenek el ők magok és szedjenek magoknak polyvát.

Ye shall giue the people no more strawe, to make bricke (as in time past) but let them goe and gather them strawe them selues:

8 De a tégla számát, mennyit ennekelőtte csináltak, vessétek ki rájok; azt le ne szállítsátok, mert restek ők és azért kiáltoznak, mondván: Menjünk el, áldozzunk a mi Istenünknek.

Notwithstanding lay vpon them the nober of bricke, which they made in time past, diminish nothing thereof: for they be idle, therefore they crie, saying, Let vs go to offer sacrifice vnto our God.

9 Nehezíttessék meg a szolgálat ezeken az embereken, hogy azzal legyen dolguk és ne hajtsanak hazug szóra.

Lay more worke vpon the men, and cause them to do it, and let the not regard vaine words.

10 Kimenének azért a nép sarczoltatói és felvigyázói és ezt mondák a népnek mondván: Ezt mondja a Faraó: Nem adok néktek polyvát.

Then went the taskemasters of the people and their officers out, and tolde the people, saying, Thus saith Pharaoh, I will giue you no more strawe.

11 Menjetek magatok, szedjetek magatoknak polyvát onnan, a hol találtok; mert semmi sem szállíttatik le szolgálatotokból.

Goe your selues, get you strawe where yee can finde it, yet shall nothing of your labour bee diminished.

12 És elszélede a nép egész Égyiptom földén, hogy tarlót szedjen polyva helyett.

Then were the people scattered abroade throughout all the land of Egypt, for to gather stubble in steade of strawe.

13 A sarczoltatók pedig szorítják vala, mondván: Végezzétek el munkátokat, napjában a napi munkát, mint akkor, a mikor polyva volt.

And the taskemasters hasted them, saying, Finish your dayes worke euery dayes taske, as ye did when ye had strawe.

14 És verettetének az Izráel fiai közül való felvigyázók, a kiket a Faraó sarczoltatói rendeltek vala föléjök, mondván: Miért nem végeztétek el a rátok vetett téglaszámot sem tegnap, sem ma úgy, mint ennekelőtte?

And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaohs taskemasters had set ouer them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore haue ye not fulfilled your taske in making bricke yesterday and to daye, as in times past?

15 És elmenének az Izráel fiai közül való felvigyázók és kiáltának a Faraóhoz, mondván: Miért cselekszel így a te szolgáiddal?

Then the officers of the children of Israel came, and cryed vnto Pharaoh, saying, Wherfore dealest thou thus with thy seruants?

16 Polyvát nem adnak a te szolgáidnak és azt mondják nékünk: Csináljatok téglát! És ímé a te szolgáid verettetnek, a te néped pedig vétkezik.

There is no strawe giuen to thy seruantes, and they say vnto vs, Make bricke: and loe, thy seruants are beaten, and thy people is blamed.

17 Az pedig monda: Restek vagytok, restek, azért mondjátok: Menjünk el, áldozzunk az Úrnak!

But he said, Ye are to much idle: therfore ye say, Let vs goe to offer sacrifice to the Lord.

18 Most pedig menjetek, dolgozzatok, polyvát ugyan nem adnak néktek, de a rátok vetett tégla-számot be kell adnotok.

Goe therefore nowe and worke: for there shall no strawe be giuen you, yet shall yee deliuer the whole tale of bricke.

19 Akkor látják vala Izráel fiainak felvigyázói, hogy bajban vannak, mivel azt kell mondaniok: a tégla-számot le ne szállítsátok; napjában a napi munka meglegyen.

Then the officers of the children of Israel sawe them selues in an euill case, because it was saide, Ye shall diminish nothing of your bricke, nor of euery dayes taske.

20 És mikor kijövének a Faraótól, szembe találkozának Mózessel és Áronnal.

And they met Moses and Aaron, which stood in their way as they came out from Pharaoh,

21 S mondának nékik: Lásson meg titeket az Úr és ítéljen meg, kik rossz hírbe kevertetek minket a Faraó előtt és az ő szolgái előtt, fegyvert adván azok kezébe, hogy megöljenek minket.

To whom they said, The Lord looke vpon you and iudge: for yee haue made our sauour to stinke before Pharaoh and before his seruants, in that ye haue put a sword in their hand to slay vs.

22 És visszaméne Mózes az Úrhoz és monda: Uram, miért engedsz rosszul bánni ezzel a néppel! Miért küldél engem ide?

Wherefore Moses returned to the Lord, and saide, Lord, why hast thou afflicted this people? wherefore hast thou thus sent me?

23 Mert attól fogva, hogy bemenék a Faraóhoz, hogy a te nevedben szóljak, rosszabbul bánik e néppel; megszabadítani pedig nem szabadítád meg a te népedet.

For since I came to Pharaoh to speake in thy Name, he hath vexed this people, and yet thou hast not deliuered thy people.
