Efézusiakhoz 3
1 Ezért vagyok én, Pál, a Krisztusnak foglya ti érettetek, a pogányokért;
For this cause I Paul am the prisoner of Jesus Christ for the sake of you Gentiles:
2 Ha ugyan hallottátok Isten kegyelmének rendelkezését, melyet nékem adott a ti érdeketekben;
as ye have heard the dispensation of the grace of God, which was given me to preach unto you:
3 Hogy tudniillik kijelentés útján ismertette meg velem a titkot, a szerint, a mint az elébb megírám röviden,
that by immediate revelation He made known to me the mystery, (as I wrote before in brief, by which,
4 Melynek olvasásából megérthetitek, hogy micsoda az én értelmem a Krisztus titka felől;
when ye read it, ye may perceive my knowledge in the mystery of Christ, )
5 A mely egyéb időkben meg nem ismertettetett az emberek fiaival úgy, a hogy most kijelentetett az Ő szent apostolainak és prófétáinak a Lélek által:
which in other generations was not made known to men, as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; that the Gentiles should be co-heirs,
6 Hogy tudniillik a pogányok örökös társak és egyugyanazon test tagjai és részesei az ő ígéretének a Krisztus Jézusban az evangyéliom által.
and of the same body, and joint-partakers of his promise in Christ, by the gospel:
7 A melynek szolgájává lettem az Isten ama kegyelmének ajándékából, mely adatott nékem az Ő hatalmának munkája szerint.
of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God conferred on me by the effectual operation of his power.
8 Nékem, minden szentek között a legeslegkisebbnek adatott ez a kegyelem, hogy a pogányoknak hirdessem a Krisztus végére mehetetlen gazdagságát;
On me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace bestowed, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,
9 És hogy megvilágosítsam mindeneknek, hogy miképen rendelkezett Isten ama titok felől, a mely elrejtetett vala örök időktől fogva az Istenben, a ki mindeneket teremtett a Jézus Krisztus által; (aiōn g165)
and make all men to see the communication of the mystery, which from the ages past hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ; (aiōn g165)
10 Azért, hogy megismertettessék most a mennybeli fejedelemségekkel és hatalmasságokkal az egyház által az Istennek sokféle bölcsesége,
that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly regions;
11 Amaz örök eleve-elvégezés szerint, a melyet megcselekedett a Krisztus Jézusban, a mi Urunkban: (aiōn g165)
according to the ancient purpose, which He executed in Christ Jesus our Lord: (aiōn g165)
12 A kiben van a mi bátorságunk és bizodalommal való menetelünk Istenhez az Ő benne való hit által.
by whom we have freedom and access with confidence through faith in Him.
13 Azért kérlek, hogy ne csüggedjetek el az én ti érettetek való nyomorúságaim miatt, a melyek néktek dicsőségtekre vannak.
Wherefore I desire that ye would not be discouraged at my afflictions on your account, which is your glory.
14 Ezokáért meghajtom térdeimet a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztusnak Atyja előtt,
For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 A kiről neveztetik minden nemzetség, mennyen és földön,
from whom the whole family in heaven and on earth is named,
16 Hogy adja meg néktek az Ő dicsősége gazdagságáért, hogy hatalmasan megerősödjetek az Ő Lelke által a belső emberben;
that He would grant you, according to his glorious riches, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit, as to the inner man;
17 Hogy lakozzék a Krisztus a hit által a ti szívetekben;
that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith: and be ye rooted and grounded in love,
18 A szeretetben meggyökerezvén és alapot vevén, hogy megérthessétek minden szentekkel egybe, mi a szélessége és hosszúsága és mélysége és magassága az Isten jóvoltának,
that ye may be able, with all the saints, to comprehend what is the breadth, and length, and depth,
19 És megismerjétek a Krisztusnak minden ismeretet felül haladó szeretetét, hogy ekképen beteljesedjetek az Istennek egész teljességéig.
and height, and to know the love of Christ, which surpasseth knowledge; that ye may be filled according to the abundant fulness of God.
20 Annak pedig, a ki véghetetlen bőséggel mindeneket megcselekedhetik, feljebb hogynem mint kérjük vagy elgondoljuk, a mi bennünk munkálkodó erő szerint,
Now to Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the power operating in us,
