5 Mózes 2
1 Annakutána megfordulánk, és indulánk a pusztába a Veres tenger felé, a miképen szólott vala nékem az Úr, és kerülgettük a Szeir hegyét sok ideig.
Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea, as the Lord had spoken unto me: and we traveled around mount Seir many days.
2 De szóla az Úr nékem, mondván:
And the Lord said unto me, as followeth,
3 Elég már e hegyet kerülgetnetek, forduljatok észak felé.
Ye have traveled long enough around this mountain; turn yourselves northward.
4 Parancsolj azért a népnek, mondván: Mikor általmentek a ti atyátokfiainak, az Ézsaú fiainak határán, a kik Szeirben lakoznak: jóllehet félnek tőletek, mindazáltal igen vigyázzatok!
And the people command thou, saying, Ye are passing by the border of your brethren the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir; and they will be afraid of you; therefore take ye good heed unto yourselves;
5 Ne ingereljétek őket, mert nem adok az ő földjükből néktek egy talpalatnyit sem; mert Ézsaúnak adtam a Szeir hegyét örökségül.
Do not contend with them; for I will not give unto you of their land, even so much as a foot's breadth; because unto Esau have I given mount Seir for an inheritance.
6 Pénzen vásároljatok tőlük enni valót, hogy egyetek, és vizet is pénzen vegyetek tőlük, hogy igyatok,
Food shall ye buy of them for money, that ye may eat; and water also shall ye buy of them for money, that ye may drink.
7 Mert az Úr, a te Istened megáldott téged a te kezednek minden munkájában; tudja, hogy e nagy pusztaságon jársz; immár negyven esztendeje veled van az Úr, a te Istened; nem szűkölködtél semmiben.
For the Lord thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand; he hath provided for thy wandering through this great wilderness: these forty years the Lord thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
8 És általmenénk a mi atyánkfiai között, az Ézsaú fiai között, a kik lakoznak vala Szeirben, a síkság útján Eláthtól és Éczjon-Gebertől fogva. Azután megfordulánk és általmenénk a Moáb pusztájának útjára.
And we passed away from our brethren the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir, from the way through the plain, from Elath, and from 'Ezyon-gaber. And we turned and passed the way of the wilderness of Moab.
9 És monda az Úr nékem: Ne hadakozzál Moáb ellen, és ne ingereld azt hadra, mert nem adok az ő földéből néked semmi örökséget; mert a Lót fiainak adtam Art örökségül.
And the Lord said unto me, Do not attack the Moabites, nor contend with them in battle; for I will not give thee from their land any inheritance, because unto the children of Lot have I given 'Ar for an inheritance.
10 (Az Emeusok laktak abban annak előtte, nagy nép, sok és szálas, mint az Anákok.
The Emim in times past dwelt therein, a people great, and numerous, and tall as the 'Anakim;
11 Óriásoknak állíttatnak vala azok is, mint az Anákok, és a Moábiták Emeknek hívták őket.
As Rephaim were also they accounted, equally with the 'Anakim; and the Moabites called the[[m]] Emim.
12 Szeirben pedig Horeusok laktak az előtt, a kiket az Ézsaú fiai kiűztek, és kiirtottak színök elől, és azoknak helyén laktak, a miképen cselekedék Izráel is az ő örökségének földén, a melyet adott néki az Úr.)
And in Seir dwelt the Chorim in times past; but the children of Esau drove them out, and they destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel hath done unto the land of his inheritance, which the Lord hath given unto them.
13 Most keljetek fel, és menjetek át a Záred patakán; és átkelénk a Záred patakán.
Now rise up, and get you over the brook Zered; and we passed over the brook Zered.
14 Az idő pedig, a melyet eljáránk Kádes-Barneától, míg általmenénk a Záred patakán, harmincznyolcz esztendő, a mely alatt kiveszett a hadra való férfiak egész nemzetsége a táborból, a mint megesküdt vala az Úr nékik.
And the time which we came from Kadesh-barnea', until we had passed over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were spent from out the midst of the camp, as the Lord had sworn unto them.
15 E felett az Úrnak keze is vala ő rajtok, hogy elveszítse őket a táborból az ő kipusztulásukig.
And also the hand of the Lord was against them, to destroy them from the midst of the camp; until they were spent.
16 És lőn, hogy a mint a hadakozó férfiak mind elpusztulának, kihalván a nép közül.
So it came to pass, when all the men of war were spent by, dying from the midst of the people,
17 Így szóla az Úr nékem, mondván:
That the Lord spoke unto me, saying,
18 Ma te általmégy a Moáb határán Ar felé,
Thou art passing this day by the border of Moab, by 'Ar,
19 És mikor közel jutsz az Ammon fiaihoz, ne háborgasd őket, ne is ingereld őket, mert nem adok néked az Ammon fiainak földjéből örökséget, mert a Lót fiainak adtam azt örökségül.
And thou comest nigh opposite the children of 'Ammon: do not attack them, nor contend with them; for I will not give unto thee of the land of the children of 'Ammon any inheritance; because unto the children of Lot have I given it for an inheritance.
20 (Óriások földének tartották azt is; óriások laktak azon régenten, a kiket az Ammoniták Zanzummoknak hívtak.
As the land of Rephaim was it also accounted: Rephaim dwelt therein in times past; and the 'Ammonites called them Zamzummim;
21 Ez a nép nagy, sok és szálas volt, valamint az Anákok, de kivesztette őket az Úr azok színe elől, hogy bírják azoknak örökségét, és lakjanak azoknak helyén;
A people great, and numerous, and tall, as the 'Anakim; but the Lord destroyed them before them; and they drove them out, and dwelt in their stead:
22 A miképen cselekedett az Ézsaú fiaival is, a kik Szeir hegyén laknak, a mikor kiveszté előlök a Horeusokat, hogy bírják azoknak örökségét, és lakjanak azoknak helyén mind e mai napig.
As he hath done to the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir, from before whom he destroyed the Chorim; and they drove them out and dwelt in their stead, even unto this day.
23 Az Avveusokat is, a kik falvakban laknak vala Gázáig, kiirtották a Káftoreusok a kik kijöttek volt Káftorból, és lakának azoknak helyén.)
And the 'Avvim, who dwelt in open towns, as far as unto Gazzah, —the Caphtorim, who came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.
24 Keljetek fel azért, induljatok, menjetek át az Arnon patakán; lásd: kezedbe adtam Szihont, Hesbonnak királyát: az Emoreust, és annak földét; kezdj hozzá, foglald el azt, és hadakozzál ő ellene.
Rise ye up, set forward, and pass over the brook Arnon; behold I have given into thy hand Sichon the king of Cheshbon, the Emorite, and his land: begin to drive him out, and contend with him in battle.
25 E napon kezdem rábocsátani a népekre, hogy féljenek és rettegjenek tőled az egész ég alatt, és a kik híredet hallják, rendüljenek meg és reszkessenek te előtted.
This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven; whoever will hear the report of thee, shall tremble, and shall quake because of thee.
26 És követeket küldék a Kedemót pusztából Szihonhoz, Hesbon királyához békességes beszéddel ezt izenvén:
And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth unto Sichon, the king of Cheshbon, with words of peace, saying,
27 Hadd menjek át a te földeden! Útról-útra megyek, nem térek le se jobbra, se balra.
Let me pass through thy land: always by the highway will I go along; I will not turn unto the right hand or unto the left.
28 Eleséget pénzen adj nékem, hogy egyem; vizet is pénzen adj nékem, hogy igyam; csak gyalog hadd megyek át:
Food shalt thou sell me for money, that I may eat; and water for money shalt thou give me, that I may drink: only let me pass through on foot;
29 A miképen cselekedtek én velem az Ézsaú fiai, a kik Szeirben laknak; és a Moábiták, a kik Arban laknak; míglen átmegyek a Jordánon arra a földre, a melyet az Úr, a mi Istenünk ád nékünk!
(As the children of Esau who dwell in Seir, and the Moabites who dwell in 'Ar, have done unto me: ) until that I shall pass over the Jordan into the land which the Lord our God giveth us.
30 De nem akarta Szihon, Hesbon királya, hogy átmenjünk ő rajta, mert megkeményítette volt az Úr, a te Istened az ő lelkét, és engedetlenné tette az Ő szívét, hogy a te kezedbe adja őt, a mint nyilván van e mai napon.
But Sichon, the king of Cheshbon, would not suffer our passing by him; for the Lord thy God had hardened his spirit, and had made obstinate his heart, that he might deliver him into thy hand, as [hath happened] this day.
31 Monda pedig az Úr nékem: Lásd: elkezdem átadni néked Szihont és az ő földét; kezdj hozzá, foglald el azt, hogy az ő földe örököd legyen.
And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give up Sichon and his land before thee: begin to drive him out, that thou mayest inherit his land.
32 És kijöve Szihon mi előnkbe minden népével, hogy megvívjon velünk Jahácznál.
And Sichon came out against us, he and all his people, to the battle at Yahaz.
33 De az Úr, a mi Istenünk kezünkbe adá őt, és levertük őt és az ő fiait és minden ő népét.
And the Lord our God gave him up before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people.
34 És elfoglaltuk minden ő városát abban az időben, és fegyverre hánytuk az egész várost: férfiakat, asszonyokat, és kisdedeket; nem hagytunk menekülni senkit.
And we conquered all his cities at that time, and devoted every inhabited city, and the women, and the little ones; we left none that escaped.
35 De a barmokat prédára vetettük közöttünk, és a városokból való ragadományokat, a melyeket elfoglaltunk volt.
Only the cattle we took as booty unto ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we had captured.
36 Aróertől fogva, a mely van az Arnon patakának partján, és a völgyben lévő várostól fogva Gileádig, egy város sem volt, a melylyel ne bírtunk volna. Mind azokat az Úr, a mi Istenünk adta a mi kezünkbe.
From 'Aro'er, which is by the bank of the brook of Arnon, and the city that is in the brook, even unto Gil'ad, there was not one city which was too strong for us; the whole did the Lord our God give up before us.
37 De az Ammon fiainak földéhez nem közeledtél, sem a Jabbók patak egész oldalához, sem a hegyen lévő városokhoz, sem semmi olyanhoz, a melyektől eltiltott téged az Úr, a mi Istenünk.
Only unto the land of the children of 'Ammon didst thou not come nigh, unto the whole margin of the brook Yabbok, and the cities in the mountain, and unto whatsoever the Lord our God had forbidden us.
