2 Tesszalonika 3
1 Végezetre imádkozzatok értünk atyámfiai, hogy az Úrnak beszéde terjedjen és dicsőíttessék, a miként ti köztetek is.
Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it was with you.
2 És hogy meneküljünk meg az alkalmatlan és gonosz emberektől. Mert nem mindenkié a hit!
And pray that we may be rescued from deviant and evil men, for not all have faith.
3 De hű az Úr, a ki megerősít titeket és megőriz a gonosztól.
But the Lord is faithful; he will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
4 Bízunk is az Úrban reátok nézve, hogy megteszitek és meg is fogjátok tenni azokat, a miket parancsolunk.
We have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will continue to do what we command you.
5 Az Úr pedig igazgassa a ti szíveteket az Isten iránt való szeretetre, és Krisztus iránt való állhatatosságra.
May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ.
6 A mi Urunk Jézus Krisztus nevében pedig, rendeljük néktek, atyámfiai, hogy vonjátok el magatokat minden atyafitól, a ki rendetlenül él, és nem ama utasítás szerint, a melyet mi tőlünk kapott.
Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from every brother who walks in idleness and does not live according to the teaching we passed on to them.
7 Magatok is tudjátok, mimódon kell minket követni; mert nem viseltük magunkat közöttetek rendetlenül.
For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you,
8 Sem ingyen kenyeret nem ettünk senkinél, hanem munkával és fáradsággal, éjjel-nappal dolgozva, hogy közületek senkinek se legyünk terhére.
nor did we eat bread from anyone free of charge. On the contrary, with labor and hardship we worked day and night so as not to be a burden to any of you.
9 Nem azért, mintha nem volna rá jogunk, hanem hogy magunkat például adjuk néktek, hogy minket kövessetek.
We did this, not because we do not have the right to be supported, but to present ourselves as an example for you to imitate.
10 Mert a mikor nálatok voltunk is, azt rendeltük néktek, hogy ha valaki nem akar dolgozni, ne is egyék.
For even when we were with you, we gave you this command: “If anyone is not willing to work, neither should he eat.”
11 Mert halljuk, hogy némelyek rendetlenül élnek közületek, a kik semmit nem dolgoznak, hanem nyughatatlankodnak.
For we hear that some among you are walking in idleness, not working at all, but being busybodies.
12 Az ilyeneknek azonban rendeljük és kérjük őket a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztusra, hogy csendesen munkálkodva, a magok kenyerét egyék.
Now we command and exhort such people by our Lord Jesus Christ to work quietly and eat their own bread.
13 Ti pedig, atyámfiai, meg ne restüljetek a jó cselekvésben.
But as for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.
14 Ha pedig valaki nem engedelmeskedik a mi levél által való beszédünknek, azt jegyezzétek meg; és ne társalkodjatok vele, hogy megszégyenüljön.
If anyone does not obey what we say in this letter, take note of him and do not associate with him, so that he will feel ashamed.
15 De ne tartsátok ellenségnek, hanem intsétek, mint atyafit.
Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
16 Maga pedig a békességnek Ura adjon néktek mindenkor minden tekintetben békességet. Az Úr legyen mindnyájatokkal!
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.
