2 Királyok 13
1 Joásnak, az Akházia fiának, Júda királyának huszonharmadik esztendejében lett király Joákház, a Jéhu fia Izráelen Samariában tizenhét esztendeig.
In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Achazyahu the king of Judah became Jehoachaz the son of Jehu king over Israel in Samaria [for] seventeen years.
2 És gonoszul cselekedék az Úr szemei előtt, és követé Jeroboámnak, a Nébát fiának bűneit, a ki bűnbe ejté az Izráelt, és nem szakadt el azoktól.
And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, and followed the sins of Jerobo'am the son of Nebat, who induced Israel to sin: he departed not therefrom.
3 És felgerjedt az Úr haragja Izráel ellen, és adá őket Hazáelnek, a Siria királyának kezébe, és Benhadádnak, a Hazáel fiának kezébe, az ő életének minden idejében.
And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel; and he gave them up into the hand of Chazael the king of Syria, and into the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Chazael, all the time.
4 De könyörgött Joákház az Úrnak, és meghallgatá őt az Úr; mert megtekintette az Izráel nyomorúságát, hogy mikép nyomorgatja őket Siria királya.
And Jehoachaz besought the Lord; and the Lord hearkened unto him; for he saw the oppression of Israel, how the king of Syria oppressed them.
5 És az Isten szabadítót küldött Izráelnek, a ki megmentette őket a Siriabeliek hatalmától, hogy az Izráel fiai lakhassanak az ő sátoraikban, mint azelőtt.
(And the Lord gave Israel a deliverer, so that they came out from under the power of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as in times past.
6 De még sem távoztak el a Jeroboám házának bűneitől, a ki bűnbe ejté az Izráelt, hanem azokban jártak; sőt az Asera is helyén maradt Samariában;
Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jerobo'am, who induced Israel to sin, therein the people walked: and the Asherah also remained standing in Samaria.)
7 Pedig nem hagyattatott meg Joákháznak több nép, mint ötven lovag, tíz szekér és tízezer gyalogos; a többit mind megölte Siria királya, és olyanná tette, mint a cséplő pora.
For he had left of people to Jehoachaz none but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand men on foot; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust at threshing.
8 Joákház egyéb dolgai pedig és minden cselekedetei és az ő ereje, vajjon nincsenek-é megírva az Izráel királyainak krónika-könyvében?
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoachaz, and all that he did, and his mighty deeds, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
9 És elaluvék Joákház az ő atyáival, és eltemették őt Samariában; és az ő fia, Joás, uralkodék ő helyette.
And Jehoachaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son became king in his stead.
10 Joásnak, a Júda királyának harminczhetedik esztendejében lett a király Joás, a Joákház fia, Izráelen Samariában, tizenhat esztendeig.
In the thirty and seventh year of Joash the king of Judah became Jehoash the son of Jehoachaz king over Israel in Samaria, [for] sixteen years.
11 És gonoszul cselekedék az Úr szemei előtt, és nem távozék el Jeroboámnak, a Nébát fiának semmi bűnétől, a ki az Izráelt bűnbe ejté, hanem azokban járt.
And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord; he departed not from all the sins of Jerobo'am the son of Nebat, who induced Israel to sin: therein he walked.
12 Joásnak egyéb dolgai pedig és valamit cselekedett és az ő erőssége, a melylyel Amásia, a Júda királya ellen harczolt, vajjon nincsenek-é megírva az Izráel királyainak krónika-könyvében?
And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his mighty deeds wherewith he fought against Amazyah the king of Judah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
13 És elaluvék Joás az ő atyáival, és Jeroboám ült az ő királyi székibe; és eltemetteték Joás Samariában, az Izráel királyai mellé.
And Joash slept with his fathers; and Jerobo'am sat upon his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
14 És megbetegedett Elizeus olyan betegséggel, a melybe bele is halt, és lement hozzá Joás, az Izráel királya, és arczára borulván sírt és monda: Édes atyám, édes atyám! Izráel szekerei és lovagjai!
Now Elisha' was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he had to die. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and their horsemen.
15 És monda néki Elizeus: Végy kézívet és nyilakat. És ő kézívet és nyilakat vett kezébe.
And Elisha' said unto him, Fetch a bow and arrows. And he fetched unto him a bow and arrows.
16 Akkor monda az Izráel királyának: Fogd meg kezeddel a kézívet. És ő megfogván azt kezével, Elizeus is rátette kezeit a király kezeire;
And he said to the king of Israel, Place thy hand upon the bow. And he placed his hand [upon it]: and Elisha' laid his hands upon the king's hands.
17 És monda: Nyisd ki az ablakot napkelet felől. És mikor kinyitotta, monda Elizeus: Lőjj! És lőtt. Akkor monda: Az Úrnak győzedelmes nyíla ez, győzedelmes nyíl a Siriabeliek ellen; mert megvered a Siriabelieket Afekben a megsemmisülésig.
And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then said Elisha', Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of victory from the Lord, and the arrow of victory over Syria; and thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till they be consumed.
18 Monda azután: Vedd fel a nyilakat. És felvette. Ő pedig monda az Izráel királyának: Lőjj a földbe, és bele lőtt a földbe háromszor; azután abbahagyta.
And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Strike upon the ground. And he struck three times, and stopped.
19 Akkor megharaguvék reá az Isten embere, és monda: Ötször vagy hatszor kellett volna lőnöd, akkor megverted volna a Siriabelieket a megsemmisülésig; de így már csak háromszor vered meg a Siriabelieket.
And the man of God was angry with him, and said, Thou shouldst have struck five or six times; then wouldst thou have smitten the Syrians till they had been consumed: whereas now thou shalt smite the Syrians three times.
20 Azután meghalt Elizeus, és eltemették. A moábita portyázó csapatok pedig az országba törtek a következő esztendőben.
And Elisha' died, and they buried him. And the predatory bands of Moabites frequently invaded the land at the coming in of the year.
21 És történt, hogy egy embert temettek, és mikor meglátták a csapatokat, gyorsan odatették azt az embert az Elizeus sírjába; de a mint odajutott és hozzáért az Elizeus tetemeihez, megelevenedett és lábaira állott.
And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they saw the band; and they cast down the man into the sepulchre of Elisha': and as the man came, and touched the bones of Elisha', he revived, and rose up on his feet.
22 Hazáel pedig, Siria királya nyomorgatá az Izráelt Joákház minden napjaiban.
But Chazael the king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoachaz.
23 De megkegyelmezett az Úr nékik, és megkönyörült rajtok, és hozzájok tért az ő szövetségéért, a melyet kötött volt Ábrahámmal, Izsákkal és Jákóbbal, és nem akarta őket elveszíteni, sem el nem vetette őket az ő orczája elől mind ez ideig.
And the Lord became gracious unto them, and had mercy on them, and turned his regard unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, and he cast them not off from his presence even until now.
24 És meghalt Hazáel, Siria királya, és az ő fia, Benhadád lett helyette a király.
And Chazael the king of Syria died: and Ben-hadad his son became king in his stead.
25 És visszavevé Joás, a Joákház fia Benhadádnak, a Hazáel fiának kezéből a városokat, a melyeket erővel elvett volt Joákháznak, az ő atyjának kezéből. Háromszor veré meg őt Joás, és visszaszerezte Izráel városait.
And Jehoash the son of Jehoachaz took again the cities out of the power of Ben-hadad the son of Chazael, which he had taken out of the power of Jehoachaz his father in the war. Three times did Joash beat him, and he recovered the cities of Israel.
