2 Krónika 1
1 Megerősödék királyságában Salamon, a Dávid fia; és az Úr az ő Istene vele volt, és őt igen felmagasztalá.
And strengthen himself doth Solomon son of David over his kingdom, and Jehovah his God [is] with him, and maketh him exceedingly great.
2 És szóla Salamon az egész Izráel népének, ezredeseknek, századosoknak, a bíráknak és egész Izráel minden előljáróinak és a családfőknek,
And Solomon saith to all Israel, to heads of the thousands, and of the hundreds, and to judges, and to every honourable one of all Israel, heads of the fathers,
3 Hogy elmennének Salamon és az egész gyülekezet ő vele a magaslatra, mely Gibeonban vala; mert ott volt az Isten gyülekezetének sátora, melyet Mózes, az Úr szolgája csinált vala a pusztában;
and they go — Solomon, and all the assembly with him — to the high place that [is] in Gibeon, for there hath been God's tent of meeting, that Moses, servant of Jehovah, made in the wilderness,
4 De az Isten ládáját Dávid már felvitte volt Kirját-Jeárimból arra a helyre, melyet készített számára Dávid; mert sátort állított fel számára Jeruzsálemben.
but the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjath-Jearim, when David prepared for it, for he stretched out for it a tent in Jerusalem;
5 A rézoltár azonban, melyet Bésaléel, az Uri fia csinált, a ki a Huri fia volt, ott volt az Úr sátora előtt; felkeresé tehát azt Salamon és a gyülekezet.
and the altar of brass that Bezaleel son of Uri, son of Hur made, he put before the tabernacle of Jehovah; and Solomon and the assembly seek to it.
6 És áldozék ott Salamon a rézoltáron az Úr előtt, mely a gyülekezetnek sátorában vala, áldozék azon ezer égőáldozatot.
And Solomon goeth up thither, on the altar of brass, before Jehovah, that [is] at the tent of meeting, and causeth to ascend upon it a thousand burnt-offerings.
7 Azon éjszaka megjelenék az Isten Salamonnak, és monda néki: Kérj a mit akarsz, hogy adjak néked.
In that night hath God appeared to Solomon, and saith to him, 'Ask — what do I give to thee?'
8 És monda Salamon az Istennek: Te nagy irgalmasságot cselekedtél az én atyámmal, Dáviddal; és ő helyette engemet királylyá tettél.
And Solomon saith to God, 'Thou hast done with David my father great kindness, and hast caused me to reign in his stead.
9 Most, oh Uram Isten, legyen állandó a te beszéded, melyet szólottál volt az én atyámnak, Dávidnak; mert te választottál engem királylyá e nép felett, mely oly sok, mint a földnek pora.
Now, O Jehovah God, is Thy word with David my father stedfast, for Thou hast caused me to reign over a people numerous as the dust of the earth;
10 Most azért adj nékem bölcseséget és tudományt, hogy a te néped előtt mind ki-, mind bemehessek; mert vajjon kicsoda kormányozhatja ezt a te nagy népedet?
now, wisdom and knowledge give to me, and I go out before this people, and I come in, for who doth judge this Thy great people?'
11 Akkor monda az Isten Salamonnak: Minthogy ez volt a te szívedben, és nem kértél tőlem gazdagságot, kincset és tisztességet, avagy a téged gyűlölőknek lelkét, sem hosszú életet magadnak nem kértél, hanem kértél magadnak bölcseséget és tudományt, hogy kormányozhasd az én népemet, mely felett királylyá tettelek téged:
And God saith to Solomon, 'Because that this hath been with thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, and honour, and the life of those hating thee, and also many days hast not asked, and dost ask for thyself wisdom and knowledge, so that thou dost judge My people over which I have caused thee to reign —
12 A bölcseséget és a tudományt megadtam néked, sőt gazdagságot, kincset és tisztességet is olyat adok néked, a melyhez hasonló nem volt sem az előtted, sem az utánad való királyoknak.
the wisdom and the knowledge is given to thee, and riches and wealth and honour I give to thee, that there hath not been so to the kings who [are] before thee, and after thee it is not so.'
13 És visszatére Salamon Jeruzsálembe a Gibeon hegyéről, a gyülekezet sátora elől és uralkodék az Izráelen.
And Solomon cometh in [from] the high place that [is] in Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tent of meeting, and reigneth over Israel,
14 Szerze Salamon szekereket és lovagokat; és vala néki ezernégyszáz szekere és tizenkétezer lovagja, a kiket helyheztete a szekerek városaiba és Jeruzsálembe a király mellé.
and Solomon gathereth chariots and horsemen, and he hath a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he placeth them in the cities of the chariots, and with the king in Jerusalem.
15 És felhalmozá a király az ezüstöt és aranyat, mint a köveket, Jeruzsálemben; a czédrusfákat is felhalmozá, mint a vadfügefákat, melyek a lapályon nagy tömegben vannak.
And the king maketh the silver and the gold in Jerusalem as stones, and the cedars he made as sycamores that [are] in the low country, for abundance.
16 És Salamonnak hoznak vala lovakat Égyiptomból; mert a király kereskedői sereggel vették volt meg a lovakat szabott áron.
And the source of the horses that [are] to Solomon [is] from Egypt and from Keva; merchants of the king from Keva take at a price,
17 És mikor feljőnek vala, hozának Égyiptomból egy szekeret hatszáz ezüst siklusért, egy-egy lovat százötven ezüst siklusért; és ugyan csak ők szállították ezeket a Hitteusok minden királyainak és Siria királyainak.
and they come up, and bring out from Egypt a chariot for six hundred silverlings, and a horse for fifty and a hundred, and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of Aram — by their hand they bring out.
