1 Krónika 29

1 Azután monda Dávid király az egész gyülekezetnek: Ím látjátok, hogy egyedül az én fiamat Salamont választotta Isten, a ki még gyermek és gyenge; a munka pedig nagy, mert nem emberé lészen az a ház, hanem az Úr Istené.

Then King David said to everyone gathered there, “My son Solomon, chosen by God alone, is young and inexperienced, and the work to be done is great because this Temple will not be for man, but for the Lord God.

2 Én pedig teljes tehetségem szerint az én Istenem háza számára bőségesen szereztem aranyat az arany szerszámokra, ezüstöt az ezüst szerszámokra, rezet a rézre, vasat a vasra, fákat a fákra, ónyxköveket, foglalni való köveket, veres köveket, különb-különbszínű köveket; mindenféle drágaköveket; márványköveket is bőséggel.

Using all my means I have provided for the house of my God—gold for the articles made of gold, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron, and wood for the wood; onyx stones and stones for settings: turquoise, different colored stones, every kind of precious stone; and plenty of marble.

3 Ezenfölül, mivel nagy kedvem van az én Istenem házához, a mi kincsem, aranyam és ezüstöm van, oda adom az én Istenem házának szükségére, azok mellett, a melyeket szereztem a szentház számára.

More than this, because of my devotion to the house of my God, I'm now giving my personal fortune of gold and silver, in addition to everything that I have provided for this holy house.

4 Háromezer tálentom aranyat Ofir aranyából és hétezer tálentom tiszta ezüstöt, a házak falainak beborítására.

3,000 talents of gold—the gold of Ophir—and 7,000 talents of refined silver will go to cover the walls of the buildings,

5 Aranyat az arany szerszámokra, ezüstöt az ezüstre és minden szükségre, a mesteremberek kezéhez. És ha valaki még adni akar, szabad akaratja szerint, töltse meg az ő kezét ma és adjon, a mit akar az Úrnak.

gold for the gold work, and silver for the silver work, and for all the work done by the craftsmen. Now who willingly wants to commit themselves to giving to the Lord today?”

6 Azért szabad akaratjok szerint adának ajándékokat az atyák fejedelmei, az Izráel nemzetségeinek fejedelmei, az ezredesek, századosok és a király dolgainak fejedelmei.

They gave willingly—the family leaders, those in charge of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and the officials in charge of the king's work.

7 És adának az Isten házának szükségére ötezer tálentom aranyat és tízezer dárikot; tízezer tálentom ezüstöt és tizennyolczezer tálentom rezet és százezer tálentom vasat.

They gave to the service of the house of God 5,000 talents and 10,000 darics of gold, 10,000 talents of silver, 18,000 talents of bronze, and 100,000 talents of iron.

8 És valakinél drágakövek találtatának, adák az Úr házának kincséhez, a Gersoniták közül való Jéhiel kezébe.

Those who had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the Lord, under the supervision of Jehiel the Gershonite.

9 És örvendeze a sokaság, hogy szabad akaratjokból adának; mert tiszta szívökből adakozának az Úrnak; Dávid király is nagy örömmel örvendezett.

The people celebrated because their leaders had been so willing to give to the Lord, freely and wholeheartedly. King David was also really delighted.

10 Hálákat ada azért Dávid az Úrnak az egész gyülekezet előtt, és monda Dávid: Áldott vagy te, Uram, Izráelnek, a mi atyánknak Istene, öröktől fogva mind örökké!

Then David praised the Lord before the whole assembly: “Praise to you, Lord, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever!

11 Oh Uram, tied a nagyság, hatalom, dicsőség, örökkévalóság és méltóság, sőt minden, valami a mennyben és a földön van, tied! Tied, oh Uram, az ország, te magasztalod fel magadat, hogy légy minden fejedelmek felett!

Lord, yours is the greatness, the power, the glory, the splendor, and the majesty, for everything in heaven and on earth is yours. Lord, yours is the kingdom, and you are admired as ruler of all.

12 A gazdagság és a dicsőség mind te tőled vannak, és te uralkodol mindeneken; a te kezedben van mind az erősség és mind a birodalom; a te kezedben van mindeneknek felmagasztaltatása és megerősíttetése.

Riches and honor come from you and you reign supreme. You possess power and might, and have the ability to make people great and to give strength to all.

13 Most azért, oh mi Istenünk, vallást teszünk előtted, és dícsérjük a te dicsőséges nevedet;

Now our God we thank you, and we praise you and your glorious character.

14 Mert micsoda vagyok én, és micsoda az én népem, hogy erőnk lehetne a szabad akarat szerint való ajándék adására, a mint tettünk? Mert tőled van minden, és a miket a te kezedből vettünk, azokat adtuk most néked.

But who am I, and who are my people, that we are able to give as willingly as this? For everything we have comes from you—we are only giving back what you have given us.

15 Mert mi csak jövevények vagyunk te előtted és zsellérek, a mint a mi atyáink is egyenként; a mi életünk napjai olyanok e földön, mint az árnyék, melyben állandóság nincsen.

In your eyes we are strangers and foreigners, just like our forefathers. Our time here on earth passes like a shadow, we have no hope of staying here long.

16 Oh mi Urunk Istenünk! mind ez a gazdagság, a mit gyűjtöttünk, hogy néked és a te szent nevednek házat építsünk, a te kezedből való és mindazok tiéid!

Lord our God, even all this wealth that we have provided to build you a house for your holy name comes from what you give, and it all belongs to you.

17 Jól tudom, oh én Istenem, hogy te a szívet vizsgálod és az igazságot szereted. Én mindezeket tiszta szívemből, nagy jó kedvvel adtam, s látom, hogy a te néped is, a mely itt jelen van, nagy örömmel, szabad akaratja szerint adta ezeket néked.

I know, my God, that you look on the inside and are happy when we live right. Everything I have given willingly and with an honest heart, and now I have seen your people here giving happily and willingly to you.

18 Oh Uram, Ábrahámnak, Izsáknak és Izráelnek, a mi atyáinknak Istene, tartsd meg mindörökké ezt az érzést a te néped szívében, és irányítsd az ő szívöket te feléd!

Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, Israel, and our forefathers, please keep these thoughts and commitments in the minds of your people forever, and make sure they stay loyal to you.

19 Salamonnak pedig, az én fiamnak adj tökéletes szívet, hogy a te parancsolatidat, bizonyságtételeidet és rendelésidet megőrizhesse, s hogy mindazokat megcselekedhesse, s felépíthesse azt a házat, a melyet én megindítottam.

Please also give my son Solomon a desire to whole-heartedly keep your commandments, decrees, and statutes, and to do all he can to build your Temple that I have provided for.”

20 És szóla Dávid az egész gyülekezethez: Kérlek, áldjátok az Urat, a ti Isteneteket. Áldá azért az egész gyülekezet az Urat, az ő atyáik Istenét; s leborulván, tisztelék az Urat és a királyt.

Then David said to everyone there, “Praise the Lord your God!” So everyone praised the Lord, the God of their fathers. They bowed down in reverence to the Lord and to the king.

21 És áldozának az Úrnak áldozatokkal, és áldozának egészen égőáldozatokkal az Úrnak másnapon, ezer tulkot, ezer kost, ezer bárányt italáldozataikkal, és sokféle áldozatokkal az egész Izráelért.

The following day they presented sacrifices and burnt offerings to the Lord: one thousand bulls, one thousand rams, and one thousand lambs, with their drink offerings and plenty of sacrifices for all of Israel.

22 S evének és ivának az Úr előtt azon a napon nagy vígasságban. Azután Salamont, a Dávid fiát másodszor is királylyá tevék és felkenék őt az Úrnak, hogy lenne fejedelem; Sádókot is fölkenék a főpapságra.

Then they ate and drank in the presence of the Lord with great happiness that day. They made Solomon, the son of David, king for a second time, and they anointed him as ruler for the Lord, and anointed Zadok as priest.

23 És üle Salamon az Úr székébe, mint király az ő atyjának, Dávidnak helyében, és mindenben szerencsés vala, mert engedelmeskedék néki az egész Izráel.

So Solomon took the throne of the Lord as king in place of David, his father. He was successful, and all the Israelites obeyed him.

24 A fejedelmek és a hatalmasok, sőt a Dávid király fiai is mindnyájan kezet adának, hogy Salamon királynak engedelmeskedni fognak.

All the officials and warriors, as well as all of King David's sons, gave a solemn promise of loyalty to King Solomon.

25 És igen felmagasztalá az Úr Salamont mind az egész Izráel népe előtt, és oly királyi méltóságot szerzett néki, a melyhez hasonló egy királynak sem volt ő előtte Izráelben.

The Lord made Solomon highly respected throughout Israel, and gave him greater royal majesty than had been given to any king of Israel before him.

26 Így uralkodott Dávid, az Isai fia az egész Izráel felett.

So David, son of Jesse, ruled over all of Israel.

27 Az idő pedig, a melyben uralkodék Izráel felett, negyven esztendő. Hebronban uralkodék hét esztendeig, Jeruzsálemben pedig harminczháromig uralkodék.

He ruled over Israel forty years—seven in Hebron, and thirty-three in Jerusalem.

28 És meghala jó vénségben, életével, gazdagságával és minden dicsőségével megelégedve. És uralkodék az ő fia, Salamon helyette.

David died at a good old age, having lived a long life, blessed with wealth and honor. Then his son Solomon took over and ruled in his place.

29 Dávid királynak pedig úgy első, mint utolsó dolgai, ímé megirattak a Sámuel próféta könyvében és a Nátán próféta könyvében és a Gád próféta könyvében;

Everything that King David did, from beginning to end, is written down in the Records of Samuel the Seer, the Records of Nathan the Prophet, and the Records of Gad the Seer.

30 Az ő egész országlásával, hatalmasságával és mind azzal, a mi az ő idejében történt vele, Izráellel és a föld minden országaival.

These include all the details of his reign, his power, and what happened to him, and to Israel, and all to the kingdoms of the neighboring countries.
