1 Boldog a férfi, a ki nem járt gonoszok tanácsán, sem vétkesek útján nem állt, sem csúfolók ülésében nem ült;

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, and standeth not in the way of sinners, and sitteth not in the seat of scorners;

2 hanem az Örökkévaló tanában telik kedve és az ő tanáról elmélkedik nappal és éjjel.

But his delight is in Jehovah's law, and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 Olyan lesz, mint vízerek mellé ültetett fa, mely gyümölcsét megadja a maga idejében, és levele nem hervad el; És mindenben, a mit tesz, szerencsés lesz.

And he [is] as a tree planted by brooks of water, which giveth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf fadeth not; and all that he doeth prospereth.

4 Nem így a gonoszok; hanem mint a polyva ők, melyet elhajt a szél.

The wicked are not so; but are as the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Azért nem állanak meg a gonoszok az ítéletben és a vétkesek az igazak községében.

Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 Mert ismeri az Örökkévaló az igazak útját, míg a gonoszok útja elvész.

For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.
